I don't think that this movie is a good representation of the Love of Jesus. The only time there was prayer was before a baseball game. No one read the Bible, no one went to church. There is no reference to Jesus, His love for us and His sacrifice. No wonder this young man, Chance, had no hope. 😢 This should be a reminder to everyone that Jesus is the way the truth and the life and we need to share Him❣️

So I prayed about everyone's comments and concerns and I get where everyone is coming from, about self-murder - however, I think (just my opinion) that the movie is to show real life happens, and everyone saw on the outside this kid was amazing! he was athletic, he was handsome and he was intense at the same time, he had friends and a girl friend, he had family who cared, he had coaches who cared. Yet, he never felt enough.... he never felt complete or worthy! To me this speaks volumes, we need to pray for the popular, smart, funny, handsome, athletic, family kid as well as those who stand in the background! We are all a child of God and the moral appears to be, you never know how the enemy is attacking our children and their minds and their friends.....

I hope Coulton was able to recover. Hard enough to lose your grandmother but to have to deal with harassment and someone killing them self causing others to blame you is a heavy burden to carry. Especially after you've tried to befriend that person.
Everyone will hope for Chance's family and friends but they should be hoping for Coulton, too.

Watch the CHANCE (2020) trailer or read some reviews before watching this movie.
This is NOT a cheerful family movie and I would not recommend it for young children.
NOTE the brief initial scene! It shows that something shocking will happen later in this movie. “BASED ON A TRUE STORY” appears immediately after that.
The first 40 minutes show a healthy lifestyle of mentoring, then teen relationships become the main plot and things get weirdly paranoid. Any remaining mentoring scenes are contrasted with scenes of relationship issues. This seems like a collision of 2 different movies. The story gets confusing as it moves through brief disjointed scenes that lead to the shock from the initial scene. Many people in the movie are traumatized by the result. They gather to deal with it in various ways. In the final scene we see a return to mentoring children.
All scenes are believable but portrayed with some disgrettion 1:02 . This movie provokes questions and could lead to discussions of awkward topics.
Whatever your feelings are , please respect that people actually experienced these events in their daily lives and this legacy lives on in their community. Viewers need to consider the personal character of individuals portrayed rather than just by the words that they speak.

This is more of a tragedy about Sports Idolatry. Everyone pushed him to be a great sports-ball player. Meanwhile on the inside he was messed up. He was being discipled by the world, not Christ. He was jealous and bullied another guy, then killed himself when everyone found out. Tragic. This should be a warning not to sacrifice your children to sports-ball.
He left those who loved bim without any answers. Suicide is never the right solution. I pray for his famiky, friends and Colton.

This movie is not for kids?? Wrong this is the movie for kids even though it becomes confusing. This is the movie that shows what confusion comes about if you don't talk to someone like an adult or teacher. Show kids there are ways of handling any situation they come across if they let us know. This is a picture kids should see so they can be helped and not hurt give kids a chance to understand now before they come to experience what they don't understand!!
I am sorry however I cannot feel sad about his passing. He brought it on himself. He could have told the truth . He attempted to destroy another young man life. He puts this young man through hell. They celebrated his life as if he was a good person. He was not. The movie should have addressed that. This was a very sick twisted young man. I sincerely believe If he didn’t kill himself . He will have killed somebody else.

This movie is an illustration of the need for people like Chance to seek help...mental issues cannot be dealt with alone. In addition, people who surround them need to show love and understanding. If Jesus was on earth, He would have set an example for us all to follow. People with mental issues need love and not rejection!

Don’t give up. You were given life for a purpose. Satan will distort the love of Jesus whenever he is given the opportunity. BUT the love of God is greater, higher and deeper and wider than we can possibly comprehend. He says when we call out to Him with a sincere heart, He will answer us. He promises He will be with us through the fire and through the floods of this life. When Jesus hung on the cross for the punishment of our sins, He cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken me”. Of course, He wasn’t forsaken, but our sins that were being imputed on Him made Him “feel” forsaken. In truth Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One. God can’t forsake Himself. AND Jesus prayed to the Father that we would be one with Him. John 17:21-24 (found in the Bible). Depression can feel like a dark, bottomless pit, but He is never far from us. No matter what wrong choices we have made or what others may have done to us, Jesus’ love, mercy and grace is greater still. Don’t give up!

How is this a good movie?! And the theme song is so jolly, like everything is dandy! Edit: sorry for being insensitive. This is based on a true story and is terribly sad for those involved.

Confusing movie
There were a lot of things in the movie that were confusing and some that were just not right. Thou shall not kill. Killing yourself, someone or something intentionally is killing, not an accident, therefore it's murder.
As a very young girl in a Catholic church I heard killing yourself by suicide is a sin and seperated us from God's heavenly kingdom and we will burn in the lake of fire. Because of this i never tried suicide as many times as i wanted to. Growing older i still feel the same but the difference is now i know I am never alone Hod is always there with me and loves me and i can talk to him about anything!

Agreed, will be using caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY. If a person commits suicide (taking one's own life without considering others) it is their way to say that they do not have faith in GOD by default. THE CREATOR HAS THE POWER TO TAKE the lives of anyone if HE JUDGED that they were ready to die by themselves, and not by their own hands. One reason suicide cannot be forgiven is not that it is a sin, but rather that it is not based on faith in GOD THROUGH THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST as evidenced by Judas committing suicide after betraying CHRIST. In closing, any person who commented using a misguided interpretation of the scripture to persuade others that suicide is okay will be held accountable for every soul they deceive.

I can see a Christian connection, so I'd be happy to share. I think it is related to compassion because to have compassion on the brokenhearted is exactly the kind of love Christ has! The more that we can bear one another's burdens and know what each other struggles with, we can look out for the vulnerable people, and then serve them for Jesus and make a difference in their lives. 💞 Anytime we find something praiseworthy in place of finding fault, we are also serving the Lord! Killing oneself is a sin. At the funeral the coach said "he's in better hands" If he meant God's hands by that, then he's wrong. Suicide is never an option.

I was suicidal starting at the age of 12-13, but Praise God Holy Spirit intervened. I only tell you this so you understand I truly know that if I would have ignored the Holy Spirit and murdered myself it would have been a sin I did not repent. We must understand God is Holy, righteous and just. He does not compromise.

I had a boyfriend who hung himself too.
He told me what he was going to do and I told his parents but they didn't believe me and he was found hung in his garage.
That happens a lot. I think that's part of the lesson here. I hope people see it and take it seriously.
I've lost 2 good friends to suicide. This movie made me cry a lot. I couldn't do anything for either of them.
I knew they took life hard. I miss them.

He was a violent person who assaulted me while I was pregnant.( He violently stamped on my stomach)
So I left South Africa and came to the UK, where I was born.
The other young man called Marius, walked in to see his best friend had taken a gun and blew his brains out.
Marius then hung himself a year later.
I stopped the movie as soon as I seen coach telling kids to kill the rabbit.
