- This is (mostly) not going to be me talking about the PvE, it's more about.. just me. I really hesitated to make this video cause I genuinely don't want to talk about this, but I need get it off my chest. This is something that has bothered me for way too long.

Tbh the news that pve is canceled it made me super sad 4 years! 4 years! We waited and nothing and even tho I’m sad i feel so bad for the devs they wasted 4 years of their lives just for nothing and so long carrier much love ❤️
We all are in pain but I can't help but imagine how the devs must feel too. Imagine pouring 4 years into something and having someone higher-up just say "we aint doing this no more", taking it away from you just like that. Devastating, honestly.
Hang in there man...and please don’t blame yourself for not being active. You may have an audience, but at the end of the day, it’s *your* channel and you can do whatever you’d like with it. Hell, you could even delete it soon, and while it probably would make a lot of us sad, I would understand and respect that decision.
And yeah...to call the cancellation a disappointment would be an gross understatement (and I don’t even play the game). But I think you can use this as an opportunity to branch out, experiment, and find what else you like. Deep Rock Galactic is a good start; maybe you could find some friends to play with you and have chill fun times or do some crazy challenges. There’s also other fun co-op games (one I’d recommend is Payday 2), or you could even take on a different genre entirely.
Just remember, it’s *your* channel, and *your* well-being comes first. Take care, and I hope you find more success than before down the line. 💛

I have wanted to move on for a good time now, but there was just something inside not letting me. This announcement though, it set something free. I don't know what I'll do, but it's not going to be Overwatch anymore. At least not the main focus, that's for sure.

Ok, let me get this straight. The only thing that was making me think of returning to OW2 (PvE) had basically been murdered? Thx Blizzard, glad I stopped playing this game when I did, btw, you could always try new stuff on your channel. Nowhere it explicitly says this is a Overwatch-centric channel
It kind of defeats the purpose of abandoning OW1.
There still will be *some* PvE, but the long-term stuff is scrapped; so yeah, it's basically gone. Hell, maybe the seasonal stuff will be fantastic, but if there's no progression then it really is a buzzkill for me; since that's mainly what I was waiting for.
I'm moving away from Overwatch, probably not completely, but it's not my main focus anymore.
Don't worry Carrier, I feel your pain. I wanted it too, after watching the gameplay. Plus, it had lore. After the content drought and the double shield meta for the past two to three years, we get nothing. I tried to ignore the nay-sayers calling OW2 a massive balance patch instead, but they might be right. I won't blame you if you jump ship. A lot of faith I had for OW vanished after that announcement. I don't even know if the damage is recoverable.
If the PvE is gone from OW2, it really is just a big balance patch, but even more just a shop update. It's not Overwatch 2, it's Overwatch Shop 2.
I most likely won't leave completely, but I don't want to focus on it anymore.
I played Overwatch a few times when it dropped, and liked how everyone felt so individual, but I did not own a copy until a few years later. And oddly enough, when I got it, they were doing the “Blackwatch Event”. I didn’t know it wasn’t part of the mode, but that is what sold me on wanting to know more about the world of the game. I’ve always favored the PvE events because of the Gauntlet /Borderlands / Left 4 Dead / Marvel Ultimate Alliance or X-Men Legends kinda gameplay possibilities there could be. You get to play as your favorite character and feel as powerful as they are. In PvP, it’s always based on Skill, not based on just playing a game experience without the worry of enjoying it because you don’t feel good enough to play it casually. But that’s just been the game culture we are in for the last 10+ years. Companies don’t see profit in couch co-op or online co-op like it was offered in the 2000’s / early 2010’s. I’m sure we all would’ve rather seeing cutscenes and interactions that wouldn’t spawn room dialogue to actually learn stuff about our favorite characters. I would’ve rather payed for OW 2 on release if it meant there was no battle pass, and the chance to have PvE as its own mode.
Also, your channel kept the imagination alive of PvE for me, I always would tune in, especially because you do so well at it. My favorite thing was to see you pick different people and make it feel like a real game where we can see them getting through these missions and scenarios. I hope the OW community appreciated you in the same way. But we are all feeling the same way about this it seems, you deserve the break.
That's one of many reasons I enjoy PvE so much. You hold all the power, the only one stopping you is yourself. If you are defeated, almost every time it was in your control to avoid that, and so on. And even if you don't push stuff to it's limits and play casually (which is perfectly fine), you can just relax and play however you want. It's bliss.
PvP is unpredictable, you could play the best of all time, but the variable nature of PvP means that might not be enough; what if your teammates refuse to cooperate while their team has insane communication? The enemies have excellent positioning, but your teammates seem to hold W and just trickle in 1 by 1? I'm overexaggerating a little, but stuff like that really does happen sometimes.
You can't really relax in PvP either, because then you'll most likely play worse, ultimately bringing your team down, and so on. This really drives me away from PvP, cause of my high ranks; I could top-frag in high grandmaster lobbies if I tried to, I have done many times, but only if I put in the effort, but I simply don't want to sometimes. I want to relax, but you cannot relax at all during that level of play.
Companies don't make PvE anymore cause most of the time, it's a lot more expensive, and oh boy do companies hate spending money. For good PvE content, you need to make good AI, diverse enemies, good story, unique gameplay elements, a lot of maps, and more. For PvP, you could technically just make one character, a few weapons, one map, few more things here and there, then simply drop all the players against each other. It's so much quicker/cheaper, it's one of the reasons why battle royale became so popular some time ago. The effort in comparison is just vastly different.
I could go on with all these business practices, but it's probably enough for now lol
I'm really glad to hear that I was able to provide you with enjoyment with my content. I'm not really that well-known, the PvE community is pretty niche; since Overwatch is primarily a PvP game, but all the support is truly breath-taking, I really appreciate it. Thank you 💙

My only hope is that the story missions are going to blow the old PvE out of the water and that we will get new missions frequently enough that it will keep people interested.
But in this moment it seems like nothing more than wishful thinking...
I hope so as well, but at this point it really does feel like wishful thinking. Too many things are just not going how they should.

Hi carrier. i had very fond memories with overwatch too, i was also hoping for seeing more PvE adventures with you, dusty and all the friends. Those definitely were the days. As much as i loved the old overwatch and hoped for better, it was your personality and energy that made me keep coming back to watch. I wish you dont stay discouraged and realize that it's not just overwatch that gives your channel value. Its you. Your unique character and the fun energy you bring to the table. Yes we all loved your overwatch content but some of us will still keep coming back to just watch you have fun and be happy despite what games you play. We just want you to be happy and share it with you. Just know that you have support in any decision you choose to make.

The small missions will *probably* be decent, but the loss of the progression and long-term gameplay really hits the hardest.
I play DRG from time to time, it's a really good game. I do play it on Steam, we could play it sometime.

Perhaps just make it opensource and let us custom create pve modes, leave it to the players to create content, there's a lot of creators out there that would love this and would bring back life into the pve mode with very little effort on their end
I would surely be one of the ones to create stuff. The workshop is great and all but it still has a lot of limits.
This is your channel, don't feel obligated to post content about only one game, branching out is great for a creator. Imo, you need to think about how you do youtube, do you want to keep people informed? Bring them entertainement through your personality? Or do you want to do crazy stunts in games... Or something completely different that would bring you joy. Rethink the way you do youtube, since forcing yourself to making content YOU don't like will result in lower quality of videos, i know from experience. Set your standards, make content that fits those standards, and try to expand your horizons, play different games, or find one that you'll really sink your metaphorical teeth into. For me, that game is R6 Siege, but i'll still make content about other games. I could go on for even longer, but i feel like i've said enough. I hope you find success in YT or find some job or hobby that will make you happy bro.

I have been thinking for a good while on what I want to do, but ultimately there was some form of mental block in my way. I knew for a long time something has to change, but I couldn't make up my mind, and I got stuck. The block has mostly been lifted now, and I will definitely move on to something else. I don't know what yet, I need time to think.

What an announcement, huh?! Honestly, after having a day to process this debacle, this is so typical Blizzard. We basically are getting "Archives 2.0" with these seasonal "Story Missions" and if those bomb...well. gg's

I think what hurt the most about all this is knowing the potential this game had to actually make what they originally advertised in 2019 and to have them just flush it...just, why? Where's the man-power to deliver? It's not like this is actually a "small Indie company" like the memes say. Smh! Yeah, we're all frustrated. You summed up the feelings well, Carrier. I'm fully confident it's just the higher ups of blizzard that screwed up everything, it's basically what happens constantly with these big companies these days. I doubt the devs themselves wanted to end the project.

I feel very same as you rn. I came to ow mostly because it was game from the company I loved and respected. And still pvp content was really routine and not fun for me. I forced myself to play between events just to farm some boxes and credits. And I really love archive missions. I recomplete them hundreds if not thousands times and was really inspired by your content especially solo playthrough. I would like to watch some other games from you like drg or smthng else. Just don't throw it all away. Rock and stone!
Blizzard too was a company I really loved and respected. They brought me the game that I have played and loved the most, Starcraft. It's where my name came from.
Ever since Uprising I really liked PvE in Overwatch, so eventually I specialized in it. I always had hope, I sat through all the radio silence, wanting to believe it will get better. Arguably, it will soon. If these story missions are good, we will just get more Archives mission. But man it does hurt knowing that there was supposed to be so so much more, just for it to get taken away like that. It sucks.
Even after watching the newest trailer, it hasn't really brought me nearly any joy, it's gone. Even the 5/6th re-run of Junkenstein/Archives gave me more hype, they really did kill something inside me lol
I will be moving to other games like DRG. I am already cooking something, hoping to get it out sometime soon. Rock and Stone!
Yeah, the news is just plain baffling (I don’t wanna assume incompetence, but like, 4 years. 4 years.). I was looking forward to more PvE to sink my teeth into, and first Archives gets seemingly axed for Starwatch (which isn’t even PvE), then this.
Well, if ya still plan on making vids, I personally would love to see some DRG, since ya say it is your second (now first?) favourite PvE experience. Perfect timing as well, since a new season is on the way.
But otherwise, don’t be scared to branch out to other games. The algorithm/viewerbase might take a while to regain a grasp of, but as long as ya do what makes ya happy, the loyal ones will support you all the way, and the newcomers from the communities of these games will find some quality content.

I'm sure the devs tried their best, I'm 99.9% sure it's just upper-management that screwed them completely. I wouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled cause of financial crap.
I most likely won't fully quit Overwatch, I'll check in from time to time, but I will be moving on to some other stuff, I don't want to focus on Overwatch anymore, that's for sure.

This was the ONLY selling point and really, Actual only real point of Overwatch 2 in the first place. But now they just turned it into the shop update so they can get people to buy their overpriced 50 dollar emote of throwing your money into a furnace. And who knows how long its gonna take till we have another Brigitte kill the PVP aspect as well. This is just pathetic coming from a multi-billion dollar corporation. Unless if they change their decision and fast, They just dug their own grave for this franchise.
Yeah, if they just drop it then you can totally say that Overwatch 2 was just Overwatch Shop 2 instead, it's crazy. Heck, the seasonal updates, PvE or not, really have to start popping off, otherwise it's a steep downhill from here.
Yeah was seeing that one coming seeing for how long we had no news of what was supposed to be the real overwatch 2 . But once again Blizz went for a cash grab re-release of overwatch 1 with a 2 slapped on it rather than putting in any work. And like all live service bs, when people dont simp for the half-baked product with their wallets and hope for a better tomorrow hard enough... Support gets dropped.
It's the harsh reality of the AAA industry these days. It really won't change unless people change, but who knows when that'll happen, if ever. All the more reason to go support the indie devs.

New to your channel, but listening to you tear up over this is so strange to me? It’s like this video game is consuming you, idk why ur so emotional you play this game for an absurd amount of time ofc your gonna wanna quit it’s been like 6 years. It goes deeper than just playing this game for 6 years. I essentially forced myself to constantly try and make content about this game, but the PvP is just insufferable for me if I try to play it for an extended period of time, so I could never do it, and I always beat myself up for it: "I am an Overwatch channel, if I switch, it won't go well." Stuff like I told myself all the time. Sometimes I wish I knew less, and sometimes I wish I wasn't so anxious about everything.
PvE was the dream, and since it was "coming soon" I've always stood by it, and pushed it to its limits. Many things that so many from the PvE community thought is nigh impossible at the time, but I did it anyway. It became my entire personality. That is what I wanted to be and more.
So came the news. Everything I hoped for was just shattered. I essentially wasted 6 years: doing near nothing while waiting for nothing in the end. It's frustrating and painful. All that I wanted to be and strived for was just taken away in just a few seconds. I'm sure anyone would at least feel some form of sorrow after that.
I appreciate the concern, don't get me wrong. This reaction of mine was just in the heat of the moment. I'm way better now. I no longer want to chain myself to this game, not a single bit, it has given me too many hardships only to return nothing of what it promised. Thank you for the comment, friend!

I had felt so disappointed after s1 of OW2, I ended up uninstalling the game. Then , 3 seasons later, they announce pve was never planned to being released at all, like they hyped us back in 2019 with all talent trees, char progression, etc. So now I vowed never to come back to OW again, basically. I hate blizzard for it, yet I’m still in love with the worlds they created, and playing Diablo IV instead. Ow is dead for me.
The disappointment was definitely one of the biggest ones of all time for me as well. Sure, it's not *completely* gone, but the main thing that I'm sure most of us we're waiting for was just cancelled, it feels so wrong. I honestly wanted to quit as well but like you say, the world they've made is just too great; it's similar for me, I love StarCraft, I really do, but it's been on life support for the longest time now, no new content for ages, only just a few community content keeping it alive. It's a real shame with how all of it's being treated.
These new paid PvE missions they announced some time recently better be fantastic, or I might be completely done as well.
@@CarrierArcnight If there's any hope at all for Blizzard to even reach its greatness it once had, rests in the hands of Microsoft if ever the acquisition goes through. That's the last breath of hope for OW. For as long as Activision is at the top, OW, StarCraft, Warcraft will never reach out of limbo, unfortunately. With them, it's all about the bottom line, all about the very last penny they can squish out the lifeless bodies of those wonderful worlds. Honestly, I'm impressed how well Diablo IV came out to be, in spite of all of this. RIP OW, until maybe some remote future when they may revive you again.
May i suggest Warframe. Its the PVE game that keeps on growing has decent graphics and good movement. It has abilities and gunplay
I might want to check it, does it have heroes (or weapons, don't know much about it) like rein or mercy? Or is it just guns and aiming?
I have spent a good amount of time in Warframe(1000 hours :p), but it's been 2-3 years since I've played. It's definitely one of the things on my list of transitioning to.
@@polskistalker The game does have something like heroes, they're just called Warframes. Think there are 40-50~ of them. Your chosen Warframe has a set of abilities (usually 4), ranging from the usual DPS/tank/heal/etc stuff, but weapons themselves are separate.
So the possibilities are limitless, in a way. If you want to be a Tank with a Sniper Rifle, go ahead. If you want your Warframe to deal all the damage and you use weapons to debuff enemies(or vice-versa), go ahead. It goes on. It's pretty nice.

@@polskistalker There is no direct mercy orr ein but you can give your frame a weapon. There is a heabily armored frame that has a stomp ability.

Why even bother with Overwatch anymore, there's so many other games with PvE components.
DRG as showcased, Vermintide 1and 2, Diretide, L4D and L4D2, TF2's Mann vs Machine, Warframe, Destiny 1 and 2, the Diablos, Path of Exile, any MMO ever.
Try a change from an OW channel to a variety PvE channel, might work out fine, will certainly be better for your health than relying on anything from ActiBlizzKing.
