I love this album so far. Courtney only screams in a song when she wants to show a specific emotion and not for effect and that's a good thing. I love the songs where she screams, but I also love the ones where she sings fully clean.
I really like how one minute i'm floating through a mysterious cave and the next i'm being shot out of a volcano.

Spiritbox has become my new favorite. This song is a great example of why. Blending interludes of 70's AM Gold tinges between modern dark and heavy melody to create a unique sound and then there's that voice. Well done Spiritbox.

i saw them live in london on june 13th, was my first ever time at a gig. i was a sobbing, uncontrollable MESS when i realised this song was about to be played. screaming with courtney during the breakdown... MAN. i'd take this over sun killer on their sets any day.

I am not a fan of metal with screams... but Spiritbox is on another level here, being at the same time so soft and gentle and deliciously agressive.
I stumbled across them on youtube, and a few minutes later searched for the vinyl record, that I preorered back in May.
Just received it!
The music is incredible, but the physical vinyl record is amazing too, really gorgeous.
Once you listen to enough harsh vocals you get used to it and even start to like it.

I have a friend just like you that isn't a huge fan of metal with screams, but he really liked Periphery! To name a few of my favourite tracks of theirs that don't have any or many screams - It's Only Smiles, Lune, Garden In The Bones, Erised, Have A Blast, Froggin Bullfish, Remain Indoors, 22 Faces, Prayer Position. Like Ryan said, the more you listen to it, the more you'll like it ;) Just a matter of finding the accessible songs.
