Hour of Joy to me is like, the perfect horror scene for a game. Something FNAF was always missing was this kind of 80’s and 90’s VHS tapes recording these kinds of events. This was perfectly done because of the 1FPS, the haunting and uncanny music and the sheer brutality of it. They spared, NOBODY.
The literal field of bodies left me stunned, and that hasn't happened in YEARS.
Ikr like they put it so well, it doesn’t reveal too much, but it shows just enough to keep the player curious. And it’s not even a cheap knockoff of fanf, I like the more eerie vibe of chapter 3

6:10 I hadn’t paid closer attention to Theodore’s drawing until now. The claw is important, sure-but the black mass beneath the bed tells even more. 1006 is supposedly very big, but he’s somehow able to contort and cram himself under the bed. A literal monster beneath a child’s bed. Wild.
tbh I just think the whole black bit represents the darkness under the bed and yes I think there's other parts than an arm I think you're exaggerating it a lot

@redwolftrash Catnap could probably do it too, cats are extremely flexible, so it would be ironic and kind of odd if Catnap, out of everyone, was the only one not able to fit through smaller spaces

Honestly, I think Catnap was tasked with making sure there were no survivors. Anyone could lie down on the ground, cover themselves in blood and not move, but if the red smoke made them hallucinate and start acting out... then yeah.

About the protagonist, why catnap warned him/her to leave the playcare. He gave us a chance to leave. He didn't seem to want to hurt the protagonist until he/she went too far.

A little thing I noticed: when the tape shows us the catwalk to the poppy flower, there are no notes or little messages around the door, which basically completely nullifies that the employees wrote it. My guess is that the Prototypes followers wrote it so that people could get out of the way of the detonator for their defeat: Poppy.

It's crazy how the hour of joy starts before I turn 2 and then returning 9 years later, making my age around 11. That means the children that are still alive are around 13 or older are in more danger than ever before being next in line to be the food source.

what makes me think is that the character that we play us in the game was not aware of the experiments happening to the orphans cause when the radio in the dream before getting to the tape were nightmare huggy will appear the Radio keep saying ''you weren't there, why weren't you there'' and sounds like the prototype saying it and getting mad at us that we weren't their when The Hour of Joy happened

@@Roland6733 but how do we know the experiment,cause mommy and Miss delight only say you use to work here, But if you listen carefully we were not aware what happened to our other co-workers we were even clueless The Hour of Joy happened and we didn't even know that, so when you listen to other character dialogue like to poppy say ''you wish to know what the truth'' so statement easily says We were not aware what happened in the Toy Factory or even the experiment we were only aware that the human size Toy were just toy that was created but We were not aware on the experiments that happens to the childrens
I have a few ideas on why the player wasn't there. My ideas are that he was fired beforehand, he quit his job, or it was a day off. It could also be the player was about to be turned into a toy so they escaped before that could happen.

i think they were there but something happen i think this because when catnap attacks you in the office and gasses you the second time by the end of the gas dream when the prototype is reaching out to the player we hear screams which might indicate the player was present during the hour of joy or at the very least was near where the screams were where i honestly dont know

@silverblaze9049 The thing is, that captions aren't well suited for all types of videos and there are multiple different ones created on this platform. Besides that, UA-cam itself already has closed captions system which could be used for that purpose instead of adding on-screen captions into the video itself. You as a creator on UA-cam can make and add your own captions to UA-cam's systems or if they are missing, using automatic captions (even if they are nowhere near close to being perfect or sometimes even that good at all)
I actually thought of a theory after Poppy said the player was tortured along with them and when the Prototype was mad at him for not being there. What if the player participated in the experiments however he did something that made the company turn on him and want to make him into a toy. The player found a way to escape before he was captured or after he was tortured. Another theory is he quit he couldn't handle hurting the children anymore.
I always thought she was referring to the horrors the protaganist has seen since they arrived at the factory in chapter one.

Its quite crazy to think that they probably completed the hour of joy in well.. an hour, in a single hour they killed hundreds of people in complete brutal manner, not caring for a second if they were innocent, bystanders, scientists, visitors or good people towards them, and i have a feeling that Chapter 4 is somehow going to show where all the bodies went, and thats probably going to be The Prototype's Lair, we were going literally down smth that looked like a military bunker, with a hatch that big, and if it exists, theres a reason for it, keeping something really well kept from escaping or just for guarding secrets + we gotta consider that Catnap might come back somehow due to the prototype keeping his body, PickyPiggy eating his friends, and Boxy-Boo from the tape, i believe those are going to be the main threats for the next chapter.. just letting y'all know that my english is not the best because it isn't my main language, but lmk what y'all think of the stuff i said😂

To me I think the prototype did this not only for revenge but to also become stronger because after everyone was killed in the factory the prototype used this advantage when every toy started to kill each other and drag those dead toys down to make them part of him and later started to kill the toys

Poppy playtime is a beautiful and depressing game it has so much lore and (Hour of joy) music is so sad😢
I presume the Prototype somehow controlled many toys during the Hour of Joy to enact the massacre (that last VHS in Chapter 1 reveals something like "the Prototype is nowhere to be seen, that might only mean that he's behind this massacre"), DogDay mentions he and other Big Body Smiling Critters fought against his control (I think he meant it literally), so at least the Critters (excluding CatNap) and Kissy Missy did it under the Prototype's control (perhaps his voice manipulating ability had some part in it), but then threw it off and went on their ways, but the Critters were hunted down and killed by CatNap and small Critters.
Kissy is deeply disturbed, but ultimately just scared and just wanted to be left alone.. but probably allined herself with Poppy to try and finally stop all the madness.. or so we hope.
In my humble opinion, Poppy is sus as hell. first she tries to annihilate us, but when we defeat many toymonsters and survive two chapters, she now paints us as hero...??? nope, sister, you can't fool me...

Well, it seems like during The Hour of Joy, the toys finally had enough of their torture and killed everyone. Just like how Poppy said, it didn't matter if they were guilty or innocent. At first, everyone had a fine day at Playtime Co. It starts at where we first met Huggy. Seconds later, Huggy attacks a man, then a woman, then the others. We then go to the Game Station, where Mommy Long Legs was seen taking multiple people with one arm and drops them. If you didn't notice, she actually tore a guy in half. Then it goes to the bay, where a man is attacked by the mini critters and seems like his insides were eaten. Then it goes to Playcare, where Catnap breathes out his red smoke and throws an employee to the stairs of the Counselors' Office. A guy in the SchoolHouse is chased by Ms. Delight and her sisters into a room to eat the guy. Then Boxy Boo eats some people's upper halfs. Then the areas we all know are filled with corpses. They are dragged to the deepest depths of Playtime and them as a source of food. So it seems Hour of Joy was about the toys having enough of what they have been going through and attacked everyone.😬

Bro listen to my theory. What if the protagonist itself is a toy? I mean see if we are human then catnap would have killed us there at train crash. But he throws us into trash like some broken toy. Not only that. How tf we are alive in the first place without eating food or drinking water. We are running for life and constantly draining alot of energy. And train crashed and blasted and we don't get any burns? So I guess we might be an employee but somehow turned into the toy. Or we are a toy of an employee who is connected to all of this.
My another theory is what if prototype and poppy are working together. See kissy missy has long legs and in the end the elevator moves very slow. She could have entered the elevator with in no time. Why tf she was waiting there only to get killed? Ig poppy is again trying to betray us. And in chap 4 this is the reason the things we will be doing which will be ultimately benefit both poppy and prototype. The game itself poppy playtime. She literally changes train track and crashed us into orphanage and left us there to die. And being nice since we are alive. There is something with us. That is required by those toys which makes those toys more powerful ig. That's why poppy keeps saying we neee you. We need you.
If as I said earlier we the protagonist is a toy and prototype will just mix us into himself, since poppy says we are worthy and useful.

Considering that we were *GUILTY* for something we did in the factory. What if we were supposed to kill in the hour of joy but we rejected the prototype. And we left as fast as possible so we don't die.

I'm wondering if the hour of joy happened during a tour of the factory. In the first chapter, during Poppy's commercial, they mentioned an hour long tour for $2.99. That would explain why there were so many people/bodies than necessary in the vhs tape Poppy showed the player. I could be wrong, though. 😅

@@evanthompson3906 if you look closely in the hour of joy VHS you can see catnap pick up a child and throw them against the floor which kills them. He took the kids somewhere where the others wouldn't find them or he took them to the prototype which would seal their fates.
@@ashuraomega1000 it wasn’t a child it was an adult, there’s nothing to prove that it was anyway since miss delights notes and vhs confirm Catnap locked the teachers in the school to keep them from killing the children.

this information is vital because since he can replicate any voice that it hears, it can be used to fool people. we know ollie's voice, but we dont know what he is. who he is. ollie has a chance of being the prototype, since 4:04 to 4:15 mentions something about communication between the toys, which if all the toys followed at the exact same time just like how the prototype liked it, the prototype can do it again. however, this might be the case for only poppy and the prototype here. because we see poppy only mid-game and late-game, she has plenty of time to talk to the prototype. the prototype can also be seen killing capnap before the end of the game, and that is after the first encounter with poppy in chapter 3. this means that the prototype doesnt need to travel far to reach poppy, and because it can mimic voices, it can and will talk if it wants to. why i didnt include kissy missy with the communication thing? because at the end of the chapter, she gets attacked. she clearly didnt know that she was going to get attacked. poppy might be leading us to the prototype because the prototype already collected huggy's, mommy long legs, and capnap's corpses to build himself a functioning body. if the prototype can make a laser out of pretty much the thing you would least expect, he can make a body with the same logic. the only reason we're alive is because he helped us, because the prototype wanted to make a body of his own. poppy is helping with this plan.
If the prototype is Ollie then I’d think he’s using Theo’s voice. Since Theo and the prototype were “close” enough for Theo to consider him a friend, then Theo would’ve talked a lot and the prototype would then have a large database of words he can use to then pretend to be Ollie

I think the reason why the prototype was pulling mommy's body and catnaps is because the prototype might be hungry for food because the prototype just can't be a hand so he just takes the body to eat aswell as the prototype finding huggy when he dies

The hour of joy is scary, I found it strange that at the end of chapter 2 and chapter 3 the prototype doesn't kill the player, I think it uses the player to assimilate more toys and perhaps to make the player see the horrors he has committed
Fun fact: I don't know if this was cut, but at the end of the 2nd Chapter, Poppy’s original dialogue on the train mentioned the fact that the employees have been “gone for a long time”. This cut dialogue also mentions terrible things have happened. Both of these are probably references to The Hour of Joy. Just thought I would put this on here.🧡

I am starting to think you as the player was actually present during the hour of joy right in the first segment, you are one of the two/three people who actually run safely out of the main lobby by going either through the exit door that's not shown on the camera footage because its on the bottom left corner and not directly by the door arch where the majority fled to, which actually leads to Make-A-Friend factory.

This is a impossible theory because we know that the only reason we the player are at poppy’s playtime is because we want to find out what happened to our coworkers. So he wouldn’t have gone if he knew they’re dead.

I would like a theory about the guy we play mommy long legs says that we used to work there but it’s never mentioned what department yet miss delight Remembers them which makes me wonder was he an experiment maybe a go on a human doll with skin perhaps? @@alfamejeu7237 I think he knew to a degree because during the second hallucination with the red gas we hear screams while the prototype hand was reaching for us which could indicate maybe they were near the factory when the hour of joy happened but he left the second he heard the screams and probably wondered what happened ever since until of course he got the letter

I think that catnap was the only big bodies initiative mascot to the smiling critters, all the others were humans in mascot outfits. This would make sense, as when dogday says "im the last of the smiling critters" he means he is the last of the human mascots to survive, the others being used as living food sources, with catnap keeping them alive, like dogday, to preserve their flesh.
Hmm, my theory is that the smiling critters actors were humans and then an experiment happened where they “grew” into the suit, causing them to BECOME the characters.

Also keep in mind that they didn’t just killed the employees but other civilians that’s visiting the factory for a tour or visiting the playcare to adopt a child. How the government wasn’t involved in this grand scale of body disappearances is also a mystery.

Here’s my theory about Ollie: As you said the prototype has the ability to mimic any voice he hears. And due to us never hearing Ollie during the actual chase sequences along with him only talking when we are safe. I think that Ollie is actually just the prototype. This would also explain what attacked kissy missy in the ending. He knew the exact and perfect time to strike as poppy thought kissy would be safe.

It's probably no where located near a city or town (though you could possibly see a city in the distance) Though it could be argued that with that many people missing especially visitors that were visiting the place for many reasons.
Would have their love ones contacting the authorities ect ect. Though none of that happened as their wouldn't be a poppy playtime game anyways.

Kissy's distance from the facility at the time of the massacre probably explains why she's placid. My guess is Prototype sent out some sort of signal that activated a chip installed in every toy which overrode their personality, but because Kissy was far away at the time the effect was either limited or temporary on her.
