Im attempting to teach myself how to make analysis videos similar to this, could you tell me what website you used to edit this or any other tips you would give a beginner?
Yeah, I use Adobe Premiere Pro for editing. My best advice is to start with writing. Once you have an idea watch the movie, tv, etc... you're writing about a few times or rewatch key scenes over and over. Follow it up with research on the broader topic you're connecting it to.
Once you have a script, record the voice over. If you don't have a good mic, recording on voice memos in a small space like a closet can do fine. Find clips from that media or other pieces that illustrate your points and splice it together with the voice over. The hardest thing to nail is pacing. Make sure you watch it a few times and pay attention to when its grabbing you, and when its letting you go. I'm sure you've seen his videos but Every Frame A Painting is a masterclass in video essays.
