I just started a job on a farm about a month ago, zero experience with any of it so I come here when I get home and watch one of your vids each day. I am actually learning things from you so thanks!
One of my all time favorite video channel's. Admire Tom's respect for his father [Ginger] and God knows the worlds children need exposure to this type of love between a father & a son/daughter which makes the world a better place to live. Tks Tom for all you do to inspire all of the world in farming listening & a much needed documented relationship between a father & son.. **Father Knows Best** like it or not and the world hands over knowledge to the children that respect & learns from their parents/grandparent. This fact has repeated for millions of yrs of recorded human history and YOU Tom continue to send this critical message Loudly & Clearly. Thank You Tom!.
Your father has a memory we're all wish we could have. 2008 and he remembered it and has always been able to remember dates, weather, drains etc he is a walking book of knowledge. If I only had 1/2 of his ability.
Too many younger folk have little to no respect for our seniors folks. A tragic scenario for all of mankind. Tom DOES seems to love & respect *Ginger* [his father]. Tom's respect for his FATHER keeps me coming back to view more of Tom Pemberton's family friendly videos.
Enjoyed the analysis of the rain and water problems, and your feed solution. Am in SW Ontario Canada, surrounded by Lk Erie, Detroit River and Lk st clair of the Great Lakes system, and we are having a flood year, second year in a row. Congrats to uncle, grandparents and happy Mother's day to your sister
Congratulations on your Henry! Please know youre all in my prayers! Theres nothing like a little shaver being around to brighten up the world! Hopefully mother nature gets over her rain fit and cuts you guys a break! Im in Pennsylvania, US and ive been having the feeling since spring that this winters going to be a beast. We’ve skated along for the last few years having it too easy. We’re due for a holy terror coming through here. My best and God bless you all!
It's been a shocking summer and a brutal start to autumn. I really enjoy listening to your father Tom. He is really annoyed about the water situation and I can't blame him. I seen the damage the flooding caused to the land last winter. Unfortunately the same thing happens here in Ireland, land constantly gets developed for housing and no consideration given to where the water goes. 😔
Congratulations to you new uncle and ginger moustache congrats to the new grandpa...very glad your sister is doing well congratulations to the whole pemberton family and the new arrival 😍🎊💙🎊😍 enjoy xoxo hugs
It's so wet here in the west of Scotland, farmers have already brought cows in and there is still whole crop and maize to do. It been very wet. Love the armstrong window wiper 👌👍
we have been watching the weather in your area and you all get way more rain it must be very hard to deal with all that , our hearts all go out to you; we know it's not much but we can't control the weather
Weather here in ireland appears to be changing for the better Tom Like UK ,we ve had a horrendous August but the outlook for the next day is superb. Here's hoping ye get similarly good weather and the next 6 to 8 weeks we get the high pressure we re owed. The potential for a reasonable year weather-wise is still there. Keep the faith, guys !
🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 for better weather it’s been terrible last couple of weeks! Good to see the frustration though love that you show the good and bad side of farming
Love it when your dad has a rant he talks so much sense and in this one you are your fathers son great entertaining video as always. Keep the videos coming Happy Farming
Same boat in West Wales. 'Boat' is a very apt word. I hope to have about half the third cut off next Sunday but the rest is very like a bottomless bog and will have to wait for a good week to ten days of dry weather. It just doesn't dry much with the shortened Autumn days. It takes time. If I mow on Thursday, it will probably only be marginally fit to chop and ensile on Sunday and there will be some mess on the ground after. I'm certainly not going to make trenches with the tractors and trailers though. Sod that.
That straw is beautiful. Poaching is a good description of it!! Heat and wet really ruins grass-- cooked! Rotted!!! Weir, a small dam in a river or stream. You had me looking the spelling up. In Florida, we are still looking at hurricane season for 8 weeks--SEP and OCT. The ponds are full. What I am thinking is that there has been development downstream from the farm and fill has been used where formerly there was marshlands. The system for roads and bridges has not kept up with the changes in the topography to adequately provide for drainage to the sea--the drainage basin has silted up, the ditches not cleaned and the pumps are not being run when needed. What form of energy are they using to run the pumps? Is there and alternative form that is cheaper?
Here in Cheshire they've managed to get the spring barley and wheat combined this week, at last. There's still oats standing, but they've just cut the 4th crop silage in the field behind our house.
Think it is a wet fall and winter and have some trouble areas, a couple loads of gravel on the mind, now would be the time to drop it down before the ground detoriates more......get ahead a bit for winter foot issues
I love highland cows... they are so cool👍❤️hope the rain gives you a break😊hi to your Dad. Congrats to little Henry🎉welcome to the world little one😇pretty dog😁😁
Another great video and I’m so glad the ginger guy explained the problems with the drainage .its as if the towns or developed areas are being drained but onto the farm land without realizing the effect it has on the crops. I sure hope things dry out for you all- Mother Nature is not being kind this year.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Put flaps on the pipes coming from the field drains to stop the water going back up the field drains and only allow it in one direction like the flaps on a tractor exhaust.
Congratulations on the new Nephew!! Hugs to your sister and bro-in-law!! And 12 years since you used the trailer!! This is why country folk don’t get rid of anything!!,
Yep the weather has been a bane all through the year since last October. Down here (Gloucester) after some days of wishing I'd never cut grass on the 31st of August for hay the weather has just come back today nice enough that we'll finally bale some hay. At least we'll have some grazing for hopefully longer than last year to set us up better for next year's antics.
Tom and The Ginger Warrior we are in the same boat in Scotland am sad to say. Its so wet the combine got stuck so that tells you how wet the ground is. Hope its not long to it drys up so you can get the silage off and we can get the rest of the harvest.
We had a late first cut so we haven’t even been able to get a second cut, barely got out whole crop in, very annoying but then that’s farming for you, in the same boat as you Tom hopefully we’ll get some decent weather soon!!
Why would anyone not like the video? Tom shows the battles faced by a farmer, putting the animal's welfare in the foreground. I would love to see some justifications for the thumbs down. Congratulations for the new family addition.
Looks like a long winter is coming, For Dairy farmers this is always worse, as they have a lot more heads to feed vs drystock farmers. Would ye ever plant Kale / Rape so ye can keep your beef outside for the winter? We done it a few years ago and had good quality stock come the spring markets. Land is in good shape for reseeding then. Based in the west of Ireland and get bad weather like yerselves up the north of England
This year has been horrendous weather wise. I work on a farm, just with the horses, but I see the effects on the cows, sheep and crops. The weather in Jan/Feb was absolutely awful, and the rain has been inconvenient to put it lightly. It has been drier this end of the UK, hopefully it is drier for you too
Good stuff Tom, congrats on 250,000 subscribers, I think You were at 3,000 when I started watching, very well done, and congrats Penny and Des, best of luck:):)
Tom, that feed trailor there doesn't really allow the hfrs etc to pass if any are eating, the passageways not wide enough? Wouldn't you be better putting it in the field, you've got the gates to open, shut to get in there and move it to a different spot, the driest ones you could find? Just a suggestion, you know the land I know.
I feel your pain I'm in ground that is tidel. Grass starting to get cut up.would you ever think of moving or is it an option. Congrats to penny and des hope he is back working 😂👍
We've had 10 inches of rain in the last 10 days here in cleveland ohio. Massive floods yesterday. We feel your pain. It's going to effect corn/soybean harvest here soon
great news about your sister pass on mine and my girlfriends best wishes cracking video mr tom my girlfriend loved the cows walking along the AstroTurf in the last video she asked how does tom train them 😂😂😉 bless her
Tom, I think you would benefit from doing more to control your grazing. You could grow more grass in your pastures. There is a history of excellent graziers, and pasture based dairy in your country to draw on. Increasing water infiltration rates is a well documented effect of management intensive, holistically planned, or mob grazing systems. Even just a half inch per hour per acre is a huge gain, and many have achieved greater increases. Plus it's fun turning animals onto fresh grass every day. It makes them so darn happy. -Joe
Tom, do you know why your Father rants over things? Because he can! Lol. I am about the same age as your Father. Tell your Father that you appreciate him teaching you everything he knows about farming. He is so cool.
Christopher Goncalves I'm blowing the clouds over your way as I type this. We've had more than our fair share of the wet stuff over her in Yorkshire (northern England) hope it gets to you soon.
honestly tom id get the rain gun handy AF you have a cow track back up it you'd get most of that land done with the rain gun as long as the wind is going the right way. we used to run a 1300 gallon tanker but we got a 2000 with rain gun, we where not sure if we'd needed it, god we where wrong one of the handiest bits of kit we ever got even after we got rid of the cows. but always make sure the winds going the right way lol edit also they can make a surprisingly tidy job of long thin fields without ever having to go in them.
Hi Tom, Ive watched you for ages. The very first was you and your dad unblocking a drain in the yard. Your drone footage is amazing and something I have just got into. Could you make a video about your drone and the drone you use?
My day is complete. Just get in, and your blog is the first thing that pops up. Brilliant. Hi from sunny Torquay. Wooooo!!!! oops sorry, wrong farmer. Lol

when listening to your dad speak with such passion for what he does, I believe inspires others to get into agriculture.
Congratulations to Penny and Des on the birth of little Henry. How exciting for the family to have a new baby, such good news💙
Ooh heck, Tom. I've just watched Farmer Phil harvesting over in Ireland, and I'm glad I kept my wellies on. Everywhere's sooooo soggy!
Its bot where i live
I finished harvest with 2 big combines and 3 grain trailers

Good on you Tom, it must be so frustrating - but you and the ginger warrior are still fighting on! It will come good in the end!
I've been listening to the music on your videos, you have good taste in music.
Tom your videos are awesome. Very entertaining and educational. From Michigan, USA keep up the awesome work.
Big appreciation for your manual windscreen wiper shot🤣

Love your cows you treat them better than others

Big welcome to the World to baby Henry. xxx
The frustration is real, you do right to film it. The people with the power should listen to the custodians more!
Oh, &... BIG congrats to your Sister & Des!!!
another great video. chuckled this time you put your seat belt on before starting. You were teased a lot about that last time.
I can watch this for a few hours straight

Amazing videos Tom, love your dads interesting comments in video, soo funny. Best the heifers are thankful for the straw and silage
Before I started watching these videos I never realised just how much a dairy farmer is a grass farmer.
Send some of that rain our way (El Paso, TX) we haven’t had any significant rain in 2 months.
