I think what a lot of people don't realise is that the Afrikaans part is about the land; out of the blue of the heavens/skies, out of the depth of the oceans, over our ever reaching mountains, where the cliffs answer back. It makes us literally visualize our diverse country, its people, what makes it extra special and why we should listen to the call to come together. Singing that in your mother tongue - Goosebumps all day everyday! 😍Epic!
It never ceases to amaze me how that even if you’re not from South Africa their national anthem stirs so much passion and emotion within you. This video is a prime example. Love it!!!!
Dude. I don't care what color you are or where you live. If you're from here, When you hear this anthem, you know exactly where home is. And you'd do anything to protect it. Every time this anthem is sung , skin color doesn't matter
Preach!! Especially after winning the world cup back to back and for the fourth time with a diverse group of players and support team. BTW, that kak about "genocide" is just that - kak!
If it implodes prophet of doom, whose fault will it be? The Afrikaners sowed the wind, and will reap the whirlwind! Many have made no effort at reconciliation with the black majority. Woe is them. I wish them well.
I read that until the afrikaans and English parts it's technically a prayer, so that's why the volume and tone changes. I feel privileged to have been at loftus for this game, I've never felt so proud to be who I am and where I've come from. It's an amazing feeling to have connected with so many people while singing our beautiful national anthem.
Nah man, YOu dont feel confident singing in a language thats not native to you. When yout language is Afrikaans then you belt it out like a mofo because you're comfortable in it
Impressive anthem of a great African nation with a patriotic audience. A pity that the Welsh anthem was not heard there. "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau" (Land of my fathers) is a real nice anthem in Celtic language...
And everyone has a part in said anthem. Most people only understand their own part in their own language, and then the English part at the end. So obviously the Afrikaans part will be sung louder, as Afrikaans-speaking individuals are the biggest supporters of rugby in SA.
I absolutely love the SA National Anthem - but, let's be fair dinkum - the Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika bit was a recording that was belted out over the loudspeakers, and the Power of One bit was belted out (disjointedly) by the crowd. Let's not guild the lily here!
Lets not worry bout who can sing wat part better....the fact that boers as u call them ...browns and blacks. Are singing together. As 1. Is such an achievement considering this countrys history......lets just say thank u bokke. ...they are mostly responsible for this amazing sense of unity........so stop ur racially dividing comments
South Africa is the country of Music. No one is singing out of key in all that big crowd. Greetings from Tanzania 🇹🇿
trust me, there are many singing out of key. Beer can't sing very well...but it all comes together with a Castle.
@@wezvandezhahaha brilliant
The supporters sing the anthem from there heart.watching from fiji🇫🇯
The moment when they switch to afrikaans you can't even hear the singers voice, trots afrikaans🔥
Afrikaans=Africa 🇿🇦
dude if anything it shows how incapable afrikaaners are at learning other languages. speaks to their history here dont u think?
Trevor Noah made a great joke about this.

Beautiful music is beautiful regardless of language, or no words at all for that matter.

Thats not the reality of that country. The song is nice, but the country is near an implosion and a mass genocide of Afrikaans hanging in the air.

@@Kerrington_John rubbish. white south african here, there is no genocide. yes, we have a high murder rate, and MOST victims are NOT white!
Now more than ever, every world citizen should learn this anthem. Thank you South Africa! #Leve Palistina

Well if I am not wrong the Nkosi Sikelel i'Afrika is also a prayer
It's not cause of that. The Afrikaans just do sing there part cause the country is divided like hell.
