- Welcome to episode 3 of Tour Rig Rundowns. We're really excited for this new series on Overland Travellers. We are going to showcase what people are touring in, it doesn't matter if it's not an extreme 4WD, if you live in it, tour in it, we want to see it. Van, bus, ute, caravan, motorbike, push bike it doesn't matter. We want to get as much variety as possible, in the hope that we can inspire other people who may own that same vehicle to get out there and travel.
This episode we check out Howard's 60 Series Landcruiser Aggy. This is by far the best looking 60 we have seen to date!
A huge thank you to Howard & Megahn for taking the time to come and meet up with us and for taking us through their touring rig. We hope to cruise around with you both soon

Mate I love how you have kept it simple but still set up to go anywhere. Too many people try and add all the latest gadgets and spend a fortune.
Thanks man, I appreciate this comment
I like the retro look. it fits the 60 perfectly 👌
Love the old school Toyota’s. Great job on this one. 🍺👍
Awesome video guys, I Learned to drive in a 60 at 7yo, on my bucket list vehicles to own for sure. Cheers, Dan
I have the very same old 61. I travel with just myself or one other so I pulled the rear seat out and have the fridge perfectly mounted behind the passenger seat. Don't know if its entirely legal but it works so well for me. I can remount the seats back in in 15 minutes. Love ol Aggie. I have been watching for quite awhile. Look forward to seeing on the road one day. I'll be sure to wave.
These guys are my fav 60 too! They inspire me to keep doing mine up!
This is awesome to hear man!!
Nice to see the old 60 in a bit of detail, not just on insta where ive been following for a while now!!!
I’ll try and get some little details videos up in time on the Insta account
I bought one new in 1989. Still love it :)
Been across the Simpson twice. Once in each direction.
Mine is known as “The Dog Truck”. I didn’t know these were made in 24v.
Looks like a lovely car.
I loved the color
Nice 60 - hard to find ones in good nick nowdays. The tailgate back end is the go! I've had barn doors once on my first 80 series and I preferred the tailgate on my second 80
The stripes are fab.
Just a tip for them regarding the future fridge purchase,...unless they're planning to get a fridge drop slide when they get the Dometic 75L dual zone (dual lid - fridge they mentioned they'd like to get), it's best to get one with the lids that can be fully removed (ie. Australian Direct, ARB & Snowys Outdoors sell them).. I have an 80 Series with a tailgate. And I also have Titan drawers, and a Dometic CFX 75L Dual Zone fridge that sits on top. The issue I have is both lids cannot be fully opened as the tailgate gets in the way - not enough head room when the fridge is on the drawers. I'll either invest in a drop slide (which adds more weight), or just replace my existing fridge with one that has lids that can be fully removed. The price of the drop slide is nearly the same as a dual zone fridge with removable top, and I don't have to add more weight. So I'm leaning towards the latter.
Hey mate, thanks for the comment!! Do you have a high roof 60??
@@howardclarke2297 No. I have an 80 Series GXL Landcruiser (ie. normal roof line). I call it "Snoopy" coz' it's white with black trims.
So true! :)
I wish my car was 24V, awesome 60 series
Very mint vehicle. At 11:55 steer towards the right to avoid toppling over.
Great old rocket! All you need and not too much more.
I've got a 1986 hj61 sahara same colour and pretty much the same set up just no cool decals 👍
I’d stick with the 47 😎
No offence to the 47 but personally l think the 60 series is the vehicle to get as a project tourer.
Yeah they are defiantly an easier vehicle to live with :)
My grandpa has one like this but it’s silver with blue stripes instead. Not sure if that means anything though
I hope you kept the bits you nodded out
was this a factory original 24 valve? I thought that truck came with the 12HT?
it does have a 12ht, its a factory 24 Volt
What a shame the owner removed the original PTO winch.
the first 60 series is
Its really not
