They were given a lot more synth, probably to fit in with the cyborg theme... Or to give them even more energy. Still, they're great tracks on their own. If I had to guess, some fo them were made without an explicit purpose, like Red Sun and Stains of Time, and were later adapted to be the boss themes of Desperado cyborgs.
Yes! That is definitely one thing i would change with all music, have the instrument and the static be evened up as much as locked and loaded was. Making it seem more cool and less too futuristic.

The singer’s okay, but it immediately becomes god-tier once the retail’s chorus kicks in. 9/10. 8:51 - THE STAINS OF TIME - No vocals, but this is pretty good either way. Wait, what if they used this and an instrumental for Here I Come for the body doubles of Mistral and Monsoon? 10/10. 11:16 - RED SUN - It’s on the same level of the retail version and I like the build up to the chorus better than the retail version. The retail version’s build up was good, but somewhat about the beta’s build up hits harder. 10/10. 13:29 - THE ONLY THING I KNOW FOR REAL - The instrumental hits way harder and sounds like Sam’s done joking around. A lot of people here seem to want the beta version of The Hot Wind Blowing, but it sadly may not exist. You have to remember that the DLC was released after the final release, meaning that the version we have now is probably the same as the beta.
@@BeachioSandschannel considering the fact that the songs you hear here are extracted directly from the leftover files of the demo in the game, and khamsin had not been created yet during development of the demo, it is pretty much confirmed to not exist. he was originally going to be the boss of mexico, however was cut from the game before he even reached the design phase (which was pre-demo, so no theme for him). only after the main game was released and they had already figured out what type of music they were going for was he was revived and designed specifically for the wolf dlc. i'd say jamie (composer of mgr's music, if you didn't know) has early versions of the song, but i don't think it'd be anything like these. it'd probably be a barebones version of what we currently have, with synths and no change in lyrics or vocals. but still, i'm unsure if he'd release it, since he may not even have the files anymore

All of these vocals are a bit shaky, but I think collective consciousness with its "high pitched" vocals, immediatly ignites a pretty uncomfortable and sinister feeling. But still its better that all of these vocals got replaced with the newers ones.

I love how many beta versions, especially visible in Mistral and Sam, incorporate like 30 styles and instruments throught its course, basically telling devs "We can play it any of those ways for it to sound good, now grab this musical lego and pick and choose whatever you like". Also, love the "Here I come" part of Mistral, shame they chose one Vamp was enough and decided to keep only "Stranger I Remain" part.

The reason why they remade the songs is to make them fit in with the lore, cause the themes explain the character, like jetstream sam, or monsoon
