Here is a How To Video on How to Tie a Tournament Snell. This is how I snell all of my hooks and it is quick, simple, and easy to tie. Very effective and strong knot. We go though a lot of hook rigs every year when dead bait sailfishing and white marlin fishing, so I tie a few thousand of these a year.

Thanks for sharing...have you used the Trokar circles from Eagle Claw yet? They're a bit pricey vs the VMC's or mustards but they're very nice.
Used them all last season out of OC and just got a ton more experience with them the past month in Guatemala. They've got a welded eye and super sharp edge.

Yeah, I've used them one time for a week, seemed pretty nice for sure. I play with different hooks from time to time but always come back to the Owner SSW and the Mustad Demons. You know how it is, what you're used to using - becomes a confidence thing...

did the shark get it?
We will never know for sure. Did a tow revival for about a half mile before release to be sure it was healthy and no sharks in vision at least. I would say odds were good for the marlin
