Nigeria, Cameroon/Kongo regions is where the most Afrikan slaves were taken from. That's why Afrikan americans have this DNA. The reason for Nigeria east is because that part was divided into three different parts. That region had the third, fourth, and fifth largest indigenous ethnic groups including igbo, Ibibio, and ijaw. The capital in that area was Calabar and the Igbo people formed the majority of enslaved Afrikans which were sold as slaves from Calabar. It's highly possible that you're Igbo. Good video
I figured I am Igbo out of the 84% African I am 60% Nigerian. I also have some Congo and Cameroon. Also my family is from Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. That is where a lot of Igbo enslaved were taken.
You have Cherokee so do I, mine has been authenticated through dna matches. Where are your ancestors originally from? The Cherokee's have been mixing since colonial periods with African slaves and European colonists, and yes different tests companies give different results, I tested with four different companies all have different results.
DNA test are nothing more than artwork 🎨. I have up to a 20 point swing from 23&me/ancestry to GEDMATCH. 23&Me shows my French and its #1 in my timeline. Ancestry shows no French yet has 10+ generations of it going back to Montpellier, France in my tree. Accurate test I think NOT
That’s great for you! I would like to visit Ghana someday. I believe that the biggest argument against DNA tests has to do with ancestry ones. When some ppl take those kinds of tests, and receive their results, they find the percentages are different between the tests. For instance, if I take 23andMe. I may identify 15% Nigerian while AncestryDNA may say 21% Nigerian. Many will look at this and jump to conclusions that the tests are inaccurate. My point is whether the genetic makeup is 15% or 21% what matters is that my genes are mostly passed down from Nigerian ancestors. My correction for saying they may be completely different. They are not “completely different.” The general genetic information is still the same.
Darling, wtih much respect.... That's kinda the same common story of the Great Great grandmother passes down about their native ancestry. I'm from Puerto Rico and I got 25% Spain, 23% Indigenous Puerto Rico and 22% Portugal. Also maternal haplogroup is A2 which has been associated with the indigenous populations of the Americas. I will not claim an ancestor of full native origin because I have not found one in my genealogical investigation and I like to support my family tree with factual information.
@@marvinortiz9984 Unless you find records from the early 1500's you're probably not going to find that Indigenous ancestor, many Mexicans and central Americans has that problem, the Europeans kept good records especially church baptism records the Natives didn't.
Yes those are the fraud results most the companies will give. The thing MOST are not taking into consideration is that fact MIXED race (MULATTO/MGM) are being tossed in. True AA is closer to 87% african with barley even 10% European. Think about it. If the average AA is 75% wouldn't that make your parents or grandparents BI RACIAL? Slavey ended in 1865. That's more than 6 generations ago and it's no guarantee you gg mother was raped that exact year. If you did the math, a mulatto with 50% European marrying 100% black non stop until now would be something like 98% black because they would lose half of that European every generation
