@@kleckamania4477 this is an amazing version, and I'm not usually a cover fan, but in my opinion, the only better version is the rock and roll hall of fame tribute with Prince
I think it's either 1 or 2 definitely. I mean even John Lennon himself said that David Bowie's cover of Across the Unviverse was an improvement. John said he sung it terribly and the guitars were out of tune in the original and he hated it. (Personally I think the beatles version has that Psychedelic charm whereas Bowie had a more "Technical" and Bowie™️ feel

This should be the best animation. Underrated movie. I have always a heart for this type of animation. The animators put a lot of effort in making this movie.
I think this cover musically and vocally George would absolutely have approved and appreciated it. Should be re-released for the 20th Anniversary of his passing next month.
I've seen this movie eighteen times ( 9 in Spanish and 9 in english) and I've read the book two times. I really love this movie. Congratulations LAIKA, you made a great job in all your movies
Tears of joy listening to this version of one of the most beautiful song ever thanks Regina you are beautiful and lovely 😊 Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I UNINTENTIONALLY WATCHED THE MOVIE ON HBO CHANNEL EARLIER AND KEPT MY ATTENTION TILL THE END , I WAS GOING ABOUT TO SWITCH THE CHANNEL WHEN ITS ALREADY SHOWING UP THE CREDITS, BUT THEN SUDDENLY I HEARD THE VERY FAMILIAR INTRO RIFF GUITAR WHOA! ITS THE BEATLES SONG IM A BIGGEST FAN OF THE BEATLES! , I SEARCH IT RIGHT AWAY AND BROUGHT ME HERE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT REGINA SPEKTOR COVERED THE SONG HOL SHIT !!!!! WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS TOO SOONER ! I KNEW ABOUT HER BCOZ OF HER SONG "SAMSON" DEAMN .
I've been a very casual fan of Spektor's music for some time now, effectively liking every song I've heard, but never going so far as to seek out a track for my own personal listening purposes. Coincidence of coincidences, I was skimming the Nightmare Before Christmas Revisited compilation and the Yoshida Bros track reminded me how much I love the Shamisen, and therefore unleashing a flood of nostalgia for my good friend Kevin Kmetz, a legend in human clothes, and one of the nicest folks ever to weaponize three strings and a bachi. This is a phenomenal version of a Beatles classic, and a standout performance by Kevin, highlighting his well deserved title God of Shamisen, which just so coincidentally happens to be the name of just one of the many other projects he's involved in, not limited to Secret Chiefs 3 (symphonic level musicianship meets brain-melting genre-defying composition masterminded by the guitarist from Mr. Bungle, Trey Spruance.... Kevin is just one of dozens of master level musicians contributing to a literal universe of music engineered from the ground up to transport you to an alternate reality of not just dizzying, athletic complexity, but truly inspired songwriting and atmosphere... Every album is a must listen, but Book of Souls is a must-own for anyone with even a passing interest in quality music), Estradasphere (Similar to Secret Chiefs, but with different sensibilities and genre preferences. More akin to klezmer black metal progressive house than pyschedelic death Dastgah DnB, if you will), as well as a host of spinoff projects associated with the musical peer group of those particular bands and many others including the frenetic klezmer of Fishtank Ensemble, the utterly charming accessibility of the avantgarde black metal band Sigh, and the open mic night with the guys who run the night but hate everyone who signs up so they just play the singer songwriter album they've been working on of Foxycock. Regina is a legend in her own right, but the extended universe of Kevin Kmetz's contribution to this family film that actually is entertaining for the whole family is not to be overlooked, and hopefully more people take some time to immerse themselves in the incredible universe of creativity they've released and continue to expand upon. Cheers!
Watching the white macaque before becoming a mother myself, i thought the macaque was a real turn off and a nag. Watched the interaction of the macaque and Kubo again, after becoming a mother myself, I cried. Beautiful music that complements the animation.

Lennon McCartney made all the songs, but when George wrote, it was one of the best in the album
Maybe George originally meant for it to be "While My Shamisen Gently Weeps," but it just doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely.

It's pretty disappointing that the video didn't show any of the orchestra involved in making the song as well. IMO it's what made the song stand out.
