Definitely agree with u on this. Collision needs to be treated same as dynamite. AEW has a loaded roster and they need a second show for other wrestlers to get more shine.
I hope this is the start of Collision being elevated more often. Swerve and Toni Storm showing up to do matches as the number 1 champions in the company is giving me Rampage episode 1 vibes.
Kenny Omega vs Christian Cage with a title change, Miro in a title match, and Britt Baker vs Red Velvet for the title. Plus Jamie Hayter's debut. Made Rampage seem like it was going to be just as must see tv as Dynamite was.
Really liking the direction of the promotion. Denise is totally right the storylines are being blended really nicely with Swerve talking crap about the Elite and cementing his babyface turn.
It was a great show. The three hours just flew by.
Top takeaways from Collision:
-Jay White needs a singles run as champion, either TNT, Continental, or World.
-Rey Fenix put on a show and it is great he is back. Would love to see him mix it up with Will Ospreay.
-The return of RUSH was nice to see. He put a beatdown and sent a stern message.
-Anna Jay needs to start winning more matches.
-Grizzled Young Veterans were great in their match. I thought they were signed to TNA, so I'm curious on that.
-Swerve Vs. Claudio delivered an exciting match. It seems Swerve will be a fighting champion. He is going after big names. I believe this is by his design more than AEW.
agree with all of that. Anna Jay need the push for sure. Jay White beats Swerve down the line.
Hopefully this is a sign Swerve wants to elevate the B show as well by making it cant miss. Him or other major stories over there would make it a pretty solid show like Punk originally wanted it to be.
I don't think Swerve will be on Collision next week.....

I’m not huge on AEW rn, took a long break from Collision but I watch Stardom so I wanted to see AZM on western TV. But I do wanna praise these 3 hour blocks of Collision + Rampage, there’s been interesting matchups throughout imo
I know right, getting over actually wrestling in the ring. Such a crazy concept. I love WWE, but yeah, they have a bad history of it being more about promos and silly backstage segments. But, Gable has gotten over with his in ring work, especially the Gunther matches. Ricky Steamboat was never a promo guy, but he had some of the best matches. The Savage WrestleMania match is considered one of the best matches of all time. Swerve has been so underrated for awhile.
I disagree with the Chad thing. He may have a shtick, but his popularity grew recently thru his matches with Gunther and Sami, which were great matches at worst. Not only they were good, but they were booked in a way that added to Chad's character to the point where they can experiment with a heel turn... which worked out far better than I expected. He's not Roman or Cody or even Swerve as far as popularity, but he's well on his way to being a solidified name and a consistent draw.
@@labbaby189 my bad. I typed that wrong. I meant he has gotten more attention and more popular over his match with Gunther. That was my point. Gable and Jordan were great in NXT, some of the best matches, people really do need to watch the old NXT matches. If you want to see what's great about wrestling those are matches to watch. Cody and Roman in ring are OK, like Roman, but not really Cody.
honestly the only thing keeping me more of an aew fan than wwe fan rn is strictly matches like this parking lot brawl we got tn and that edge/

Swerve Strickland definitely seems more like an anti hero than a traditional babyface. He still has some heelish tendencies.
Hello I'm j, I'm an aew day 1 fan. My views on aew are exactly what & how I treat look being a " sports team" or based fan!!
I disagree with you on dynamite not giving the crowd genuine emotion....
I am a grown adult at the back end of the key demo (LoL)
Throughout out the years and especially in aew or a TNA.
I do not need to see a champion wrestle especially if it's his first 🥇 or if it's history or if it's THE TOP News worthy story!!! No Way.

Now.. Samoa Joe when he won he was tweener so it didn't need to be hot or cold. But it was Samoa Joes first main title. His fans were happy.
(( There's a lot of negativity surrounding race. And we as Nation when ever, Big or small.. if we want change we must take the proper steps.
If we are supposed to believe that Sunday night took so much & he didn't it.. it's hard to have this man put his body out there.. not to Chase bc if you are chasing.. then maybe it shows more to you and your character..

And I'll elaborate another time. With that Said from 2 Gound floor really good years then a hot.cold cold 16 + months... It's these things that are not consistent or rational.(( I see it as either..A) Tony sees Swerve as a transitional champ for Will Osprey in Aug. ( Or)
B) made a mistake bc TK goes Day to Day & This situation NFL draft to plug aew just popped up & he figured..
Meh 😕 I Will also give Swerve The open of collision bc those frustrated fans Will show up on collision and grab ratings. (( I'm leaning towards this)

C) He was never truly behind Swerve and doesn't have The faith enough in to open the A show..

As a human, with comonsense and logic.. I do not need to see Swerve be the FIRST aew champion break his back late Sunday. . wrestle Wednesday without much fan fare ( in Hollywood, theatre and even baseball ⚾ if you hit a home run.. you acknowledge the fans happiness with a curtain call 👋👋👋

It was necessary to let The fans express themselves and thank Swerve for history..
This here ( and I'm an aew fan 🪭) was a huge mistake.. One that The More people defend or or double down it creates aew fans split .

Swerve vs Jack Perry is perfect, especially if you incorporate Tony Khan
Collision is a nice wrestling show, but have you noticed that they don't book the stars on Collision like ever. I don't think MJF/Joe were on Collision almost at all during their title reign. They pushed Swerve out of Dynamite last week so he had to be on Collision. The Elite are never on Collision. Omega isn't returning on Collision. I understand they get less views but it feels very B show when the biggest stars/champs/stories are never on that show. Also squeezing Dark matches for Big Bill and such doesn't help as they don't do that on Dynamite like ever. They need to balance out these shows more
They had Punk when it started. They had MJF vs Kenny title match. Half the continental classic matches were on Collision. It fell off a bit at the beginning of the year but they just had The AEW champion defend his title and the Women's champion wrestle.
Those are definitive steps back in the right direction
@@sadboi88 But are they week one moves? Or will Swerve be on both shows? I just doubt they fundamentally changed their booking. I think they are mostly trying to stack the 3 hour show they did cause they had a great lead in from basketball
@blablablaa14 it's only been the past few months that Collision has been neglected. It's possible that this week was stacked to take advantage of the lead in but it's also possible they are trying to make Collision feel important again.
They have already set up Edge vs one of House of Black for the TNT title for next weeks episode.
I can definitely see Swerve appearing a lot because He is being presented as a fighting champion.

Yes that's what drove me crazy on how he was rewarded with wins against Adam page? I had a few friends of race that watch family stuff that used to go to aew.. but always tell me no Way & there TV blocked from that content..
Bleeding is not bad .
But while I'm trying to push the aew is fun narrative.. I had to prove my point...yup..full gear ( The home break-in they parents did not like then the onslaught of blood and how he was cheered was also puzzling as well as drinking blood ( i embarrassed 😳 myself bc aew has so many talents with families and kids (( one weekly show should cater to that audience while keeping the original fans)
TBH that's what collision started out as & on a Saturday to get over 800k was impressive there were completely different talent.. less blood and that's why CM punk did not want to do glass..
Mercedes ( has a real young audience)
Imagine Taylor Swift does a 21 & over tour ( I'm sure it would work,)
If she did that The parents that naturally block for content will not be able to see ( she wouldn't completely lose.. however for that event her hardcore fans would not be there!!
If This happens & Taylor Swift gets only 20% of her fan base..

With Cody.. his huge pop and start to his fanbased was accesssed in WWE.

But since My daughter was younger she never Saw & the adults that stayed with Cody boo him..

So if you as a Booker makes mistakes
Denise, it's his responsibility to treat him like The face you made us see..
Why reward ? Why change & remind how booking messed up?
Why make it a great moment and constantly hearing. It's historic.
PS, every heel 👠 does way less to screw with the audience do that The face has ano and reason.
A heel would never Go after the Bucks.. bc his action for breaking into a nans home in his childs Room..

Denise, AEW got you again. They made you watch for three hours on a Saturday.
My minor point of disagreement is with the perception that Rampage and Collision haven't regularly featured stories, and mostly put on (effectively meaningless) matches. Yes, there were always matches that were basically exhibitions, like tonight with Fenix v Beast Morto, but there were several stories and rivalries that got HOURS of air tine only on Rampage and Collision.
Raw sucks tho. 3 hours of wwe sounds like torture
So you don't watch it. Raw is awesome. I also watch Smackdown, Collision, Rampage and Dynamite.
@Bayley4ever I try to watch but it's so boring and nothing happens and there's never wrestling in the first hour...maybe like a match...aew starts a match eight away
@@user-mb2yp6xh9w Ok that is true. But you do get more wrestling than you use too on Raw. But, that is one of the things about AEW, they do have some great matches and very little promo most weeks.
Id rather watch wrestling than have to do manual labor. The complaining you reviewers do is really getting old and tone deaf.

unless I missed something. TK was taking a shot at Vince. Which isn't child trafficking. the shot was saying AEW wasn't safe, because the wrestlers take risks in the ring and get hurt/but WWE has a ton of injuries. Vince in the promotion was a hostile work environment. Even if you don't think he is guilty of the Grant allegations, he did bully/treat people badly.

WWE is old news. Their time has passed. WWE will never change who they are and how they present themselves. The shows are still overly scripted and overproduced. WWE is less of a wrestling show and more of a soap opera theater. WWE isn't wrestling
