Now that was a fascinating and detailed demonstration. To the non-Ukrainian, your accent is also very calming to listen to. God Bless you and be as safe as you can.
Omg I didn't expect to see the actual explosion! And you even placed targets to show the shrapnel range. So cool! Ps. I'm gonna steal your intro, it's just a good reaction image 😂
You are potentially saving future fighters with these videos. Very useful and well made. Thank you. That mine is no joke. It threw shrapnel much farther than expected. These must be horribly devestating. May god be with you.
S-Mine was a source for informatoin for this kind of soviet mine, as a many part of Soviet equipment, its just a "improvement" copy of Grerman WWII equipment
i love this guys content no of that extra bs like the other channel straight to the point and attention to detail used also using the can to store the dirt to reduce mine detection by the enemy is genius
Used a long stick with a light fabric ribbon attached on the end. When you moving in a heavy vegetation and forested area, there is a big chance to not see a wire. So that ribon is helpful to detect it.
Thank you. 3:37 -- just don't try that with a MUV-1, that would end badly. The older MUVs with lead strip delays are unpredictable as to arming time re: temperature, age of the fuze etc., MUV-1 has no delay element whatsoever.
The infamous "Bouncing Bettey" invented by the Germans during WWII. First encountered by American and British troops in the Italian campaign in 1943. Very nasty surprise... Keep safe Brother...
These are great training videos!! Please keep it up. The way thing's are going in the world, I don't think it'll be long before more countries are at war, not just in Europe.
That was amazing how you explained everything , if possible can you show us other anti personal mines ? Thank you for all you and your guys do over there ! We pray for victory and your safety everyday ! ❤
We call these "bouncing betties". I've also heard the term "bouncing baby". Very unpleasant. Often they would castrate survivors. This made them even more feared.
It might actually be nice to use a ferrous material when placing mines. Most modern land mines have reduced metal construction to prevent them from being detected by adversaries, but when it comes to cleaning up after the conflict these explosives pose extra danger for EOD personnel.
It would be ideal to be able to leave something behind to keep the enemy near the mine if you have to trigger the timer......handful of coins tossed near by or something
Nope. The large safety pin activates the detonator. It is delay armed, so it means that after removing the safety pin it'll be armed in approximately four minutes. Detonators of the MUV seria designed for tripwire initiation, so it means when it's armed it goes off after the small pin is pulled out.
Man, could you please show how to detect the mine (and the other mines) and eventually safely disengage from the area it is covering without setting it off, with an emphasis and how not to set it off... maybe how to mark it with improvised techniques using basic tools in the field, so that any civillian can safely notice and stay away How each fuse activation mechanism works and how to watch out for it to make sure that in the end it is not activated How to safely block, disarm or disengage the mechanism intended for fuse activation, so that the mine poses lesser threat than intended (wherever it's possible, because we all know that in cases of some mines it's not the best idea to even try) And maybe in the end, how to fuck up the mine itself like a true engineer/sapper - whenever it is possible by means other than blowing it up safely. This could save a lot of... lives And your tutorials would become valuable educational assets for any after-the-war efforts of cleaning up so that the kids actually playing in the forests instead of their phones don't actually die in the future. Imagine additional audiences from youth and teachers all over the war-torn world, where old shit like that is still laying around and posing threat for decades already.
I would like to see all of these, but the sources are scarce. Apart of old soviet manuals, I know only two youtube channels you can learn something about the subject, but both of them are in ukrainian. As to Mr. Valgear, don't expect too much from him. He is not an officer and I suppose that his knowledge about explosive devices is limited.
so interesting how particular your english vocabulary is. You must have been very good before, but perhaps interacting with native english speakers in a military environment shaped it to be able to describe things with such detail? or maybe im just an assuming american lol
Im thinking we need cheap plentiful tracked rc car type drones to drive ahead of the men to detonate any land mines or tripwires. Out of everything in war mines seem the most scary 😢
Now that was a fascinating and detailed demonstration. To the non-Ukrainian, your accent is also very calming to listen to. God Bless you and be as safe as you can.
I could have sworn this guy was Finnish. He sure sounds finnish.
@zacharylovelady9265 I thought the same. Ukrainian accent sounds different. The deepth of vocabulary is also unusual for Ukrainians. Heroyam slava
I would love to hear him say safety is our number one priority.
@@zacharylovelady9265 I know this post was months ago but I know a Finnish accent when I hear it.
Have have the same.
It's not a Ukrainian accent
"Allways when setting mines, be MINEFUL." I could not unhear it.
So help me god…
Thanks Val! Now I know exactly how to deal with my neighbour who keeps stealing my strawberries. Thumbs up!
I once saw this man rescue 287 kittens from a cattery that was on fire in Bakhmut. What a guy.
This is the guy? :O
Maybe he ran the local soup kitchen?
i didn’t know the word ‘cattery’ existed until today. thanks bro.

I've always thought my hiking route is too popular, the universe is pointing me in the right direction
Awesome mine. Pretty much like the S-Mine. Thanks on the view on it! Stay safe out there!

Shrapnel spread is very wide, it can take out a whole squad from a fight
Your videos are always very interesting, especially the equipment use guides (This, NLAW, PKM etc.). Greetings from Finland 🤜
Mahtava opossumi
much love valgear keep doing what you do!!
Glad to see you healthy buddy ❤
every other gun tuber pales in comparrison to what this guy has access to.
The infamous "Bouncing Bettey" invented by the Germans during WWII. First encountered by American and British troops in the Italian campaign in 1943. Very nasty surprise... Keep safe Brother...
My great uncle got shrapnel twice from those in Holland. He still had some in him when he died.
B E T T E Y 😂😂😂
Excellent video, this could be a training course - very well done, thank you for sharing your knowledge in your down time, stay safe.
Great to have you back and thank you for another interesting video!
Stay safe!
i love how you planted next to the mine :D
It would be cool to see a video about your current service rifle and how often they changed / which different ones you used.
These are great training videos!! Please keep it up. The way thing's are going in the world, I don't think it'll be long before more countries are at war, not just in Europe.

O hell yeah. I was worried that you were a goner. Happy to see that you are still kicking🤙🏻
Stay safe Mr Valgear!
What I would do to collab with you!
One of my favorite classes, mine and demo warfare. It’s as essential as first aid imo, good info to know.
Valgear uploaded, time to ignore my girlfriend. Such a good video man to demonstrate the spread of the shrapnel, mines are fucking terrifying.
Very informative and frank in use of the mines. Would be useful to both sides in placing and disposal.❤
Would be nice to see a video on some off Route directional mines that they use to take out vehicles and armor also Infantry great videos very detailed
Geeze, that's a big explosion. Stay safe out there!
Good to see you alive kamerad!
Thank God you posted a new video, I was getting scared
God Bless you defenders of Europe. Thank you!!!!!
Great content as always, stay safe
Finally a new video. Stay safe Val
Yes brother
Wow glad you posted 🤙
5:32 i feel like we can hear in the background a guy who didnt subscribe to Valgear. He met an explosive end.
Very interesting and informative video indeed! Stay safe, brother ❤ 🇺🇦
Thank you for the video!
That thing had so much more punch than I was expecting
Would expect a black wire.
A directed horizontal explosion would be handy.
Damn that mine is a beast.
Now my training is complete.
God bless ukraine 🇺🇦, yall be safe, much love from the 🇺🇸
Holly shit that effect! That is an evil thing!
We call these "bouncing betties". I've also heard the term "bouncing baby". Very unpleasant.
Often they would castrate survivors. This made them even more feared.
wow that thing is gonna blow away an entire squad
Спасибо! Очень интересно)
Is this for home defence?
Thank you brother! 💪🏼🇺🇦🤝🏼🇺🇸💪🏼🙏🏼
and i thought mines are scary till i saw one in action, now they are pure terror
Im never gonna have to do that but I like the video.
🇺🇲🇺🇦
It might actually be nice to use a ferrous material when placing mines. Most modern land mines have reduced metal construction to prevent them from being detected by adversaries, but when it comes to cleaning up after the conflict these explosives pose extra danger for EOD personnel.
Glad you're still alive. Stay safe.
If you arent busy could you go over a couple your favorite small arms that you have been using?
It would be ideal to be able to leave something behind to keep the enemy near the mine if you have to trigger the timer......handful of coins tossed near by or something
Damn, mines, trip wires, and UXO are scary ass hell.
It's something evil about to learn how 2 do this but I like it..!
Valgear ftw
Keep fighting the good fight Valgear, the world is behind you!
I swear this is the hoe-drau-lic-a-preszz channul in disguise.
Also known as a Witch, because of a howling screeching sound it makes when boomboom , kill radius is crazy around 40 meters
Ottawa convention wants to know your location 😅
So the large safety pin on the MUV must always stay in unless you want the mine to automatically self-destruct, i.e. function within around 4 minutes?
Nope. The large safety pin activates the detonator. It is delay armed, so it means that after removing the safety pin it'll be armed in approximately four minutes. Detonators of the MUV seria designed for tripwire initiation, so it means when it's armed it goes off after the small pin is pulled out.
Do you camouflage the shiny metal top of the trigger?
💙🌻
Its a good thing im already on a list, or id be worried this video was recommended.

Why not use fishing line? Would be much harder to detect imo
Would be great to get an old sacrificial camera for a vid like this
Bouncing Betty mine.
nice german sparten :D is that the new version of a german S mine? i only know that from the ww2... how to defuse this horribel weapon?
so interesting how particular your english vocabulary is. You must have been very good before, but perhaps interacting with native english speakers in a military environment shaped it to be able to describe things with such detail? or maybe im just an assuming american lol
We used to call them bouncing Betty
30m shrapnel looks pretty low energy. Typically cardboard/paper will be 'punched out' if velocity is over ~500fps.
Jumping Betty Mine. Super deadly!!! With no foliage
This why disperse on combat patrols
Does anybody have seen a jumping mine?? Just seen the boom
drippy as hell
Im thinking we need cheap plentiful tracked rc car type drones to drive ahead of the men to detonate any land mines or tripwires. Out of everything in war mines seem the most scary 😢
Purdy Parkway
good god AP mines are absolute nightmare fuel.
mines in general. i hope one day explosives are outlawed for use in war. sadly someone will probably just ignore that directive
AP mines are banned in Ukraine through Ottawa convention
Oh, bouncing Betty’s, how quaint.
finns......gods gift to europe
Note to not invade Finland
Oh, that's terrifying, thank you.
+
as a international volunteer this is fine
