6 inch tapered kaleidoscope

- Handmade tapered kaleidoscope (also known as a "geodesic sphereoscope"). The effects can be modulated by using a flashlight/torch to shine light through the white sheet of glass or by blocking the light with your hand while being in a bright room or outside. Great effects can be achieved when a (bright) screen, playing music visualizations or video footage, is placed on the kaleidoscope.
Hi! I'm making one of these for school and have gotten pretty far but it's just not perfect. I got 3 mirrors, tapered them, cut them into 6 sections, and put them together. I covered one side in colored stain glass and it gives the effect, but not enough. Is there anything you did that I didn't do? Could you please give me a detailed description of how you made this? Thank you.
Hi, I don't understand what you mean by saying "cut them into 6 sections". Everything else sounds about right.
What is the effect you are getting? Just a sphere in the center or hexagonal grids are showing as well?
@@PrismaticScopes By cut them into 6 sections I mean after I tapered them, I cut them up and taped them back together, leaving gaps for the light to come through and create the lines. I'm not getting the sphere, and i'm kind of getting the hexagons but not as much. Mostly just colored lines everywhere. I also don't get as many lines and colors as you. Can you give a step by step process of how you made it?
@@alliekenny7478 I do not cut one of the mirrors into sections to allow light to pass through. I leave all 3 mirrors intact. I etch the patterns on one of the 3 mirrors to remove the reflective coating and allow light to pass through to create the projections inside of the kaleidoscope.
