    Always love your vids, Brian! I'm a huge Temple buff, and I religiously follow Rick Satterfield's LDS Church Temples website. That's where I first saw your renderings. Keep it up!!

    You mean the one in the Audio? Finding good free sound files from the Utah area is hard, but I thank the birds in Beirut for being willing to provide.

    Beautiful. Just one thing, I don't think the rest of downtown Provo will be willing to be torn down and returned to virgin woodlands.

    Here is the story of the streets surrounding the temple lot: University Avenue runs on the East side of the temple, no change is made to that street, I just did not model it on my model. Center street is to the north. The city has plans to redevelop it but that is in the future. 100 south was sold to the church. The water fountain sits where it was. 100 west was partly sold to NuSkin who built a new building on it. The parking garage was sold to the church and torn down 2 weeks ago.

    I try to keep these models up to date. As good as this model is, it is already wrong. It was not until just a couple weeks ago that I was able to find out what the parking lot area on the south end looks like. If the church releases a plan for that section of the eventual property, then I will want to update it. Otherwise, I will have to wait for the property to be finished first.

      Awesome! did you model this?

    • @BrianOlsonPhotogent
      @BrianOlsonPhotogent  11 років тому +1

      Yep. Based upon information the church has released. All the videos I post on my youtube channel, here on Google+ and on Facebook are models created and rendered by me.

    Well That's unfortunate, I really wanted more greenspace downtown...

    Provo's Daily Herald just published official confirmation of the Church's negotiations with the post office to purchase the rest of the south block. Just out of curiosity: Will you bother to update this rendering if the purchase goes through and the Church releases updated landscaping details? I can only imagine how much work these renderings are.

    This is beautiful . . . but what about the street that runs to the east, the 2-storey parking lot to the west, and the other street to the south?

    The temple can be of other color?

    • @BrianOlsonPhotogent
      @BrianOlsonPhotogent  9 років тому +1

      brisingr zar'roc They certainly can. Johannesburg South africa is kind of a tan brick, Copenhagen Denmark is red brick, and there are temples with all kinds of colors of stone, tans, browns, greys and yellows.

    Is this the old provo tabernacle?????

  • @BrianOlsonPhotogent
    @BrianOlsonPhotogent  11 років тому +1

    It was not. I do my work in Blender, an open source modeling and editing suite. Sketchup does not have the array of tools I need to make something like this.
