This brings back memories for me, fishing off Deal pier. Early 70's using feathers for mackerel. The pier would be packed. It was all or nothing as they came around in shoals. With 6 feathered hooks on the line you could be bringing up a full haul with every cast when the shoal was in.
As Billy Connolly famously said, 'there's no such thing as bad weather only inappropriate clothing'. Does Medway Tackle sell thermal clothing, Rhys? Three or four hundred crabs and you're sorted for years to come. Cold weather suffering would be a thing of the past.
@@stephensaxby5346 No. One of the best presentations of peeler for bass is legs snipped off one side then pass the hook point through the top of the carapace on the side with the legs removed, out one of the middle leg sockets, back in towards the apron & back out the top with no more than 5 times round with elastic to keep it up the Shank. It keeps the crab alive, moving for attraction whilst still letting out plenty of scent. The same also works well with hardbacks for smooth hounds especially from the boat or kayak, just passing the hook through the middle empty socket one side and straight out the top.
Well done guys 👍 nice one 👌 take care and tight lines 🎣👊
Call me old, but 45 years ago the pier head would have been packed with people trying to catch spring codling.
We live in sad times 😕
We sure do
You don't know how it's going to fish until you try. 🤔
Thanks for trying, and sharing.👍👏
Hopefully it improves soon mate.🤞

80p a crab is not expensive, half the time the local diggers on fb are asking atleast £1 minimum and they fly out.

Why would you not dispatch the crab before you cut its legs off???
Snowflake alert 🚨
It's easier and cleaner when they are whole. This is a fishing channel, don't like it? Don't look.
@@SandrasSpicySpanishSalami just kill it first, easy.
