In addition to all you said there's also lyney Storyquest where we learned that he and Lynette PLANNED A MASS REVENGE YEARS AHEAD, and they waited till this day just to execute their plan, so it isn't hard to believe that Lyney ( and Arlecchino) have planned the traveller action all along
For what it's worth, we don't really foil any of the Fatui's plans. Mondstadt the Fatui don't show at all until Signora takes Venti's Gnosis, Liyue is just Childe's own methods of trying to do things and was being manipulated by Morax and Signora, Inazuma they were merely just profiting on delusion sales to both sides of the war. While Signora did die, they had already obtained the Gnosis at that point, and Signora being there wasn't something the Traveler knew was going to happen, and Signora was there to get the Gnosis from the Shogun cause she didn't know Scaramouche got it from Yae. Sumeru was just Dottore's own agenda with an experiment on making a false god. His plans weren't really foiled, because he considered it as all part of the experiment, and he still walked away with both Electro and Dendro Gnoses anyway.
You're right. Technically the Traveler hasn't ruined any plans (and sometimes have even been the catalyst for the Fatui's success). However, they are still an unknown variable that could be a threat to their calculated plans.
There is the off chance Signora did know the Gnosis was already in Fatui possession, and she stayed there looking for a chance to be very dramatically killed. Or "killed", as if she'd arranged with the Shogun to leave the Harbingers under circumstances ensuring they'd no longer be looking for her, she's picked an accomplice who would simply never think to mention this to us if the precise topic didn't happen to be raised.
@@crossflux971 I didn't either, until first we got more on the Hexenzirkel including the detail that Signora had some form of forewarning of where her path with the Fatui would end up, and from speaking to the Wanderer the impression that at least half the Harbingers consider their service limited and with an expiration date and this isn't really a secret.
I had the same strange feeling of "too much of a coincidence" about our meeting and getting close to Lyney and Lynette as soon as we entered Fontaine. You opened my eyes about the incident with the thief... another extreme co-incidence to find her at the heart of the opera incident. The thing I'm still wondering about: Focalor's welcome show at the beginning, seemingly anticipated and skillfully put to use by Lyney. How did he control the Archon?
I've been asking myself that question too. It's possible he would just expect her to want to put on a show to appeal to the Traveler. Think about it from Lady Furina's Point of View: she's heard stories of this Outlander who has not only seen but SAVED 4 other nations. Furina strikes me as the kind of person who's really self-conscious. She could have really just wanted to astound and and assert her dominance over the Traveler. Lyney could have banked on all this...but that's a big stretch. Someone as calculating as Lyney probably wouldn't rely on such an unreliable character like Furina. So yeah, I think he has her manipulated in somehow...but I don't really have much evidence on this side of things.
Amazing video!! In regards to the Lilianne thing, since we know Arle makes the orphans go on missions where if they fail it could cost them their life, I find it hard to believe the twins weren’t capable enough to chase down a person with how athletic they need to be. And if they cared so much about catching her, why didn't Lyney stay behind with the stolen stuff she threw while Lynette chased after her? Nothing about this encounter makes much sense, so as much as I love Lyney I hope he's still manipulating us
I would say that yes. Lyney is a magician. Magicians are constantly misdirecting you. They are the Fatui. So is Childe. Isn’t he a part of the misdirection? He is a harbinger and has more status than lyney. Did Childe and Arleccino set everything up together? Childe seems to know quite a bit about the fortress (jail). Or maybe Arllechino set Childe up?
Playing mihoyo games for soo long lyney and his tricks are literally childs play compare to the levels of deception of hoyo's greatest villian otto apolcapse. Anyhow peeps saw through his acts but dare lord if the cute cat sibiling were to cry there will be hell to pay, so we roll with it.
I'm on board with pretty much all of this - fantastic theory! o7 Now, if only we knew what the real Halsey was up to during the trial... (Until we find out, I'll think of her as a Hearth operative.)
Thanks so much! I've been in love with Genshin since it released. I really don't know why it took me so long to make videos on it. I plan on putting more theories out soon. In the meantime, I do have other videos about a Tabletop RPG I created about Genshin you might enjoy.
Oh cool! Last year, I started writing a D&D campaign based on Genshin, but I got intimidated and never finished. I'll have to check out your tabletop RPG for sure! @@crossflux971
I still have one question about your theory this doesn't explain why childe got the guilty verdict and childe is clueless? are they trying to keep child away but why isn't he fatui harbinger unless they want to keep childe in the dark and avoid communication with him so goes with the script and manuplate the oratrice into getting childe the guilty verdict by lyney under orders by Arlecchino that childe must not know about our plans. Arlecchino is probably like signora with morax keep childe in the dark not knowing about the her plans and avoiding communcation.
I think Childe is clueless as to why he was accused. None of the other Harbingers look on Childe with respect. He's a great fighter, but not a thinker. Him being in Fontaine might disrupt Arlecchino's plan so she wanted to get rid of him.

You're right, there. They can be quite devious!

I totally agree with your theory. The whole Fontain's teaser was working with the theme of Lyney controlling the attentions of the audience.

Yeah I think it would be nice for a playable Genshin character to legitimately betray the Traveler and/or not be on good terms with them.

Agreed. Otto is a devious mastermind (I can't wait to see how his counterpart in Star Rail, Luocha, ruins things for everyone).!

You may be right. It's likely Halsey is either an inside agent as well or maybe just a fake identity altogether. Maybe she never existed.
Magicians never reveal their tricks my friend! Expect illusions as bountiful as a bouquet of flowers. Another good video!
Thanks. To be sure, more will be revealed.
I think whole fontaine story revolves around deception
