    Great review! Very helpful.
    I’ve been using Bose Soundsport Free buds for the last 4 years and they’ve pretty much given up now. They sound great and are very comfortable over long runs. The main drawbacks were mild wind noise and being practically unusable for calls.
    Whilst not essential, I’d like to address these issues with whatever I replace them with and am considering replacing them with the Vista 2s or either of the new Bose buds.
    One of the things I enjoyed with the Soundsport Frees was the combination of good sound quality as well as a decent amount of situational awareness. I run and cycle a lot so being able to hear what’s going on around me is important. I’m not too bothered by ANC but if the buds have it, I’d be looking for good audio pass through so the concern with the Jaybirds is the wind noise amplification that’s been well reported.
    I know the passive isolation on the Jaybirds with ANC switched off isn’t great and the same is said of the Bose Sport buds but what does that mean in real terms? Could you listen to music and still be able to have a conversation with someone for example? For me, and likely others, poor passive isolation may actually prove to be an attractive feature.
    Given my priorities, which would be your recommendation out of the Jaybird Vista 2s, Bose Sport buds and the Bose QCs?

    • @Soulflytribe04
      @Soulflytribe04 2 роки тому

      Bose, anyone. Those vista 2 buds were the worst I ve ever used

    • @andybarron5840
      @andybarron5840 2 роки тому

      @@Soulflytribe04 I ended up getting the Bose Sport buds. They are pretty decent with some caveats.
      Sound quality is excellent.
      You still get a good amount of passive ambient pass through with them which means you get good situational awareness and can have a conversation with them in without sacrificing sound quality. Perfect for running/cycling.
      There is still some wind noise but because they don’t stick out as much as the Soundsport Free buds it’s not as bad.
      Call quality has improved but still not great for people at the other end if you’re anywhere that has 10+mph wind.
      There seems to be an issue with the right earbud connecting first time which appears to be a problem relating to the in ear detection. Turn that function off and it connects flawlessly.
      On the whole I’ve been pleased with the Bose buds despite the flaws.

    • @Soulflytribe04
      @Soulflytribe04 2 роки тому

      @@andybarron5840 The lack of sound buttons made me not buy the sport, so I bought yet another pair of Bose soundsport free.

    • @andybarron5840
      @andybarron5840 2 роки тому

      @@Soulflytribe04 I get that. That was a concern for me too and truth be told the touch controls aren’t amazing though have improved with firmware updates. Only function missing now is the skip back function from the Frees. Or, I should say, you have the option of double tapping the left bud for skip forward or skip back.
      The physical controls from the Frees worked better.
      Whilst I never had any gripes about the sound quality of the Soundsport Frees, there is actually a notable improvement with the Sport buds.

    • @Soulflytribe04
      @Soulflytribe04 2 роки тому

      @@andybarron5840 You can actually control the volume easily with the apple watch or another watch like that, the problem is that in some dangerous areas it's not that smart to flash those watches, so there's that.
      And they removed the physical buttons because they would dry and fall, just like this: ( type "Soundsport Free rubber button fallen" on google to see, as I'm not being able to post links here.)
      Thus, if anyone reading this has one soundsport free, keep it moist with one of those leather/car rubber products to avoid that.

    After watching tons of review on Jaybirds Vista 2, yours is very detailed and accurate with data specs clearly laid out coupled with real world testing. In reality, it is impossible to put a check mark on everything so compromises have to be made. The Sony XM4s might be the king of ANC and probably sound quality but gym rats will prefer the Vista 2 for their specific application.

    How would you compare these Vista 2s to, say, the Klipsch T5 II or its sport version in things like audio quality and passive and active noise cancellation?

      @AndysTechTone  3 роки тому

      I had some issues with the Klipsch in terms of fit, so I'd pick the Vista no matter what. As for the rest, I cannot really compare the two buds properly as I don't have the T5 II anymore. What I remember though is that the Klipsch had better passive isolation but it doesn't have ANC at all only transparency mode. I prefer the Jaybird sound as the Klipsch can get a bit too excited in the top end for my taste but both apps have EQ.

    I wish Bose had something small, like this, not so bulky. I want this Jaybird shape, but with Bose sound and unparalleled customer service. Once I came to their store in a different country with the speaker I burned with another charger, and they just took it from me, without box or even the charger, and gave me a brand-new speaker from the shelf. They apologized that they didn't have my older model anymore and gave me the latest model of my speaker. All this for free, no documents to fill and no questions asked. I was immensely impressed. Huge high five here to guys from Bose store in Hamburg. Also, I love Bose sound. Why do they need to be so bulky? 😥 Maybe one day some company combines Jaybird shape with Bose sound...I'll wait till then.

    One thing that is keeping me from buying these headphones is the fact that they do not make Comply Foam tips for them.

      I don't know how these compare to the X3 as I've never used the X3. But the Vista 2 are loud enough for my taste for sure and I don't miss the foam tip option either as they fit perfectly in my ears. On the Sony WF-1000XM4 the Comply Foam tips made a huge difference though so I know what you mean.

    I wish I had a way of obtaining these, but they are not available anywhere in my country.
    I bought the Jaybird Vistas while I was in America about 3 years ago, and I have absolutely adored them. Unfortunately the left earbud has completely died and now I am forced to purchase an alternative, none of which seem to come even close to the Vistas.
    The Sony WF-SP800N look interesting but I am very turned off by their large profile, and I'm afraid the comfort level compared to what I'm used to with the Vistas is going to be a difficult hurdle to cross.
    The JBL reflect Mini's seem to come closest, but you've stated in that review that you would choose the SP800N's over the reflect minis in a heartbeat haha. It's a difficult decision.

    I have Sony headphones that are fantastic in sound quality, but not very secure in my ears. Looking for secure headphones, I was pointed to these. The first ones I got had 2 issues: one that the left set had lower volume than the right one, and two that the left one made unwanted noise at times. I returned those and got replacements. These also had two issues: one that the sound quality was noticeably worse than the first set, and two that it was next to impossible to have a phone conversation while riding a bike. The wind noise was incredibly bad. So, I returned them as well. I’m still looking for secure headphones that also have good sound quality.

      I may be too late on this but I will give my opinion on it. I'm by no means an audiophile but I do own several headsets and generally stick to cheaper sport buds, $20 range simply because the technology isn't there yet to compete with over ear headphones. A budget pair of over ear headphones Sound surge 60's to be specific, sounded astronomically better and it doesn't have an equalizer like the Vista 2's. Personally I would advise you to go with something along the lines like the Otiums. They are cheap sport buds that really get the job done well and sound pretty good. For $200 they should be ashamed for releasing such a bad audio experience in these buds.

    Hey man, I have a question and I really hope you can help me. I used to run with my AirPods while only wearing my Apple Watch. This is great as I hate having to carry the weight of my phone. However, one major downside to this is that then the sound becomes very flat as the Music or Spotify on my Apple Watch doesn’t offer an equalizer. Recently I got myself the Sony WF1000XM4 and I was amazed to see that they store whatever preferences you set in the app on the buds themselves, so this resulted in great sound via my Apple Watch. However, the Sony are kind of terrible for sports as it will fatigue my ears relatively fast and they move a bit as well, so I eat my footsteps all the time, etc. Question: do the vista 2 behave like the Sony? Will the sound profile remain the same regardless of the sound source? I would get them right away if this is the case. Thanks in advance.

    I bought the Jaybirds a few months ago after watching your reviews and they've grown on me; they just survived a 2-hour wash cycle after I left them in my shorts, which is a big plus, as is the capability to use just one bud. But my son has just asked me if I'd like the new Jaybird 2 or Bose Sport buds for my birthday next week. I love the Bose sound quality, and the Bose buds are more secure in my ears (I have to keep refitting the Jaybirds when I sweat on a long run) but would like the ambient sound feature as I currently only use one bud when running or cycling to keep some awareness of traffic (and I doubt the Bose' would have survived a wash cycle). The Bose Sport Earbuds are nowhere near as durable as the Jaybirds for sure. And there is no ANC, no ambient mode and no EQ and the touch controls have limited functionality too. But at least it does have ANC and ambient so it's an obvious choice if you need such features.

      As long as your earbuds have AAC codec support and an iOS app you're okay on iPhones/iPads. And pretty much all earbuds work on Android perfectly fine. Except for the Airpods of course which still work on Android but with limited functionality

    Dear God... what am I to do now. I had my heart set on the XM4's but with these guys in the mix, the choice has become very tough. The Jaybird V2s have such a nice compact design (and wingtips!!). Maybe not quite as feature-laden but at that price it's extremely competitive. I don't need "work-out" buds per-se, but the secure fit that wingtips provide, and the inclusion of talk-through mode, might tip it over the edge for the Jaybird V2s IMO. If you were going for your first pair of true wireless buds, and wanted the best experience, which would you choose?

      @@nibbax7772 I ended up getting the XM4's, the Jaybirds are STILL not available in Australia without paying an exorbitant shipping cost. I am pleased to report the XM4 fit is definitely secure enough not to have any worry about it falling out unwantedly. I ended up using the smallest size tips that came with the XM4's and after about a week or so you get used to the fit in your ear. All this said, I would caution anyone with small ears to look at getting the Jaybirds as wingtips are always good at securing a fit without the need for undue pressure to keep the buds in place. I'd still be quite happy owning either.

      I might be late but it could be the sensor on the bud, if it doesn't have direct skin contact they shut off. So it replicates them falling out making them pause or even shut off sometimes. Oily skin can cause this or sometimes if they aren't deep enough in your ear.
