“It could be a little bigger. You probably have heard that before in your life.” Jeez Raiti, why you gotta do us like that?😂
I love sharing some good old fashioned laughs
Joe loves to insult our cock size 😭😆
Not the first time I've heard this either 😔
Volvos are so underrated. Not a lot people talk about them. Their styling is so tame unlike the competition with all their big grilles
I totally agree with you!
Rightly so because the "twin charged" engines are a maintenance nightmare and Volvo cars is now also Chinese owned.
not owned by swedes anymore
Chinese reliability. Which = not great.
Meh. I have a 2020 V60 and the reliability is equitable to the Germans.
One of the things I respect so much about Joe is that he answers comments. There are so many channels that don’t respond and sometimes you wonder if your support matters to them, or if they even read your comments. But when you look through on this channel, you see Joe responding, and it’s something I find super baller. 👊
If only he ever shared his conclusion to the question in the title.
LOL at him not answering you, rekt. People's obsessiveness of social recognition/attention is pathetic.
I remember when Volvo first released the SPA platform S60 back in 2018, what a beauty till this day. Their 7yr+ XC90 still looks more modern and luxurious than most cars on the road. The amazing Scandinavian design language and a under-estimated sport performer.
I own a 2022 Recharge Extended Range and its legit fast. So deceptive and powerful. Love the looks on the bimmers, mustangs and dodge guys when I pass them. Puts them in rage mode in no time.
I own a 2023 s60 recharge plus. I love it, but it has its quirks. No interior storage, little glitches in the system. Sometimes the audio doesn't work when you start it and you have to restart the car. The power is nice, but its governed at 112mph. Overall, I enjoy it.
I’ve been eyeing the S60 for a year now & love the clean lines & design of this Volvo. So glad you finally reviewed this under appreciated brand.
Same, after seeing the 22/23 updates I'm very tempted now.
These look really nice. I can already see the black on black, 20% tints all around!
Now we are talking!
Sooooo much car for the price. The price point on this car is so much more reasonable than almost every electric vehicle out right now. I know it's not a true EV, but mfrs are out of their minds with the pricing on the EV's, that the majority of people are still going to have to stay with some kind of gas engine. This car is very good option for a sporty luxury sedan.
You are so very right Erik!
Thanks Joe. Almost missed this one…….was having plumbing problems. Not my plumbing, my house plumbing. 🤣
You crack me up Tom! 😂 I hope you get the home plumbing fixed.
I have an S60 and I love it. It’s stylish, safe, and quick.
*quick update, that sucks that Volvo removed the button to change the driving modes. My 2019 has a wheel knob/button right below the start button.
Thanks for sharing your ownership input!
Do you have the T5 or T6?
@@CactusBravo42 I have a t5
@@jaimeponton5033 Nice! I’m test driving one this weekend.
@@CactusBravo42 awesome! I’ve driven both and The T6 is awesome. I just didn’t want to spend the extra on AWD. 😂😂
Without a doubt, quad exhaust, blacked out quite exhaust
Sounds good to me!
Damn I haven’t watched one of these in awhile… joe your still killing it, Volvo did a great job under the hood and styling. honestly I feel like volvo is underrated …
Thanks man! You are so very right!
Wow that thing is beautiful.
Was this filmed during the summer, cuz Joe is dressed like it's 80 degrees.
It really pops in the sun!
I'm old enough to remember when Volvos were touted as a "safe" car, and sportiness/luxury was not part of their marketing. Now they're a serious contender in those segments.
I remember those days as well David!
Trust me. Other then the 0-60 they lack real performance. There so heavily invested in safety these cars are super numb to drive fast and fun…I chose a stinger over this car. Simply because these Volvos are soulless. Fast in a straight line yes but no character, no attitude, and just boring to be behind the wheel. Well built yes….very safe yes…..extreme quality yes….but the stinger is just a funner car and the tuning world getting into the stinger it’s very easy to make a monster out of them. Not to mention the price difference.
Yes, I remember Volvo was always about safety!
Volvo's niche was in a turn over the roof will never cave in EVER!
And, they came a long way from the box style shape from the 80's!
arent Volvos limited to 112mph nowadays?
@@InfoumusMOBB Kia...nope.
The newer Volvos are quite underrated. I prefer the minimalist clean styling. I’d rather have one than any of the German or Japanese rivals.
What a beauty! I love how balanced Volvo engineered this sedan.
Not a huge Volvo fan, but this things got HP, saves gas and looks amazing inside and out!
Joe another great review! Thanks
You are so wonderful! Thank you
They have hidden exhaust because they going more in the phev route i believe but Volvo is hella underrated! Best car brand period!!
0-60 in 3.9 seconds..............Volvo has come a long way!
They also did a great job integrating the infotainment into the center dash. Granted, the infotainment functionality could be better.
I am surprised they put all-season tires on this car. With this much power they should have put a more performance tire. And they should have put more rubber. Something like a 255 would have been much better than 235's all around.
Tell me about it
The new EX90 changes the integrated infotainment. It's going to be floating and quite different than this version.
Looks like a jaguar to me. Very nice
I am so glad that you are digging this one.
@@RaitisRides Volvo did their thing with this one!
@@Bapu4President you are so very right
❤️🏁🚗 Thank you Joe and Steven! 🤠❤️
I've really been debating an upgrade from my 2019 s60 t5 to one of these recharge beauties. I am a little sad to see they removed the drive-type rolling knob right below the start/stop switch...that makes it super easy to switch. Great review and definitely appreciated.
Unless in pure electric mode, and with the shifter in braking position, you can start the engine quickly by moving the shifter laterally.
White and black colour combination. So simple and yet so tasteful. Well done Volvo.
You are so very right Leon
My favorite thing about Volvos is you can them new or CPO’d with an unlimited mileage warranty. I have zero worries about my 2020 V60 Polestar Engineered (ie the recharge) costing me anything other than the usual maintenance.
loved the 740 turbo's back in the 80's
I've had the pleasure of driving the S60 on several ocassions. My zonks are similar the infotainment could have a better layout and be bigger but it is easy to navigate. The only other zonk would be I would like for the gage cluster to be brighter seems very dim compared to other cars. Other than that it's a great car! Great Review as always
I like it! Maybe not enough to stop me from buying another SUV but I would definitely consider this model. Great video Mr. Raiti! 👍🏾!
I think this is the Apostle to Performance and luxury.
I’m so glad that you like this one
@@RaitisRides Yeah I like it.
I love it Joe and Lori and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍 💯💯💯
You got it brother!
It cracks me up when Joe comes with those comments like the one from min 11:53. It could be little bigger. I know you probably have heard that before in your life LMFAO!!
I really like this car but I wish it could have ventilated seats, and actual pockets in the back seats, but all in all good package. You’re killing it right now Joe,Lori, and Steven god bless you three and everyone else in this comment section. 🙏🙏🙏🙏😊😊😊😊

@@viewviewview1236 that is a plus!😅😅
Year and a half ago I bought the XC90 for my parents and they haven't had any mechanical issue so yes, I would buy another Volvo. This one looks fantastic.
That’s awesome news
Not trying to sound negative or anything, but in all fairness most vehicles don't have issues the first 1-2yrs. Again most. Now if you had said 4+ yrs they had no issues I'd be impressed 👍🏼
@@odd02 true
loved the review! where did you capture 3.9 0-60? also the t8 is not e supercharged, just turbocharged. the b6 is turbo and e supercharged, the t5/b5 is only turbocharged, and the t6 was twin charged
We don’t get the Volvo S60 in the UK anymore.
However, we did get the S60 with that powertrain.
That is crazy that you don't.
@@RaitisRides This is due to a re-evaluation of the Volvo lineup in the UK due to supply and demand issues, according to Volvo.
Fortunately, you can buy used S60s in the UK.
I don’t know what you talking about regarding “bigger” comment. Lol You sure crack me up Joe!😂
Wow 🤩 that car is not only beautiful but all those options, looks like a great option to consider
I bought used 2018 XC90 inscription with polestar tune and I'm so happy with it. First time buying a euro car. Can't wait for the ex90
That is so awesome!
I want one of these things 😍
I am so glad that you like this one.

Joe, your reaction to going “on throttle” says it all.
I was really surprised considering it’s power ratings.
I guess this car is for people who want to look sporty and get decent mpg’s.
Nice car looks sporty with the white and black
Volvo all day any day. My 08 S60 is still running after 200,000+ miles. Talk about brand loyalty.
You said there's no spare in the S60 recharge. Does it have run-flat tires? How does it compare to the BMW 330e?
I'm going to buy this sedan someday Joe.
I know you can make it happen.
No you’re not, stop being fake. Barely anyone has bought a Volvo sedan in the last 10 years , you ain’t going to be one

I’m glad that I can share this one with you Bryan!
Yessir I’m absolutely love it, I wil admit I do forget about Volvo a lot but that’s because typical I think about the semi trucks they produce vs cars but I have been liking what they put out.
I have a 2020 T6 inscription model and I think its the coolest car I've ever owned.
does this come with the polestar package?
Wow 🤩 that car is not only beautiful but all those options
JJ - something Swedish babes like ? Swedish Meat Balls. they also dig Volvo, tony macaroni with extra cheese
I can see you in this one!
Nicest Volvo I’ve seen and yes, some quad pipes in the back would work. No zonks here.
Awesome man! Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Just as a comparison to the G70 and BMW 340i he mentioned.
Both of those cars aren't plug in hybrids, and as such neither will get the MPG this car gets even if you decide to never plug it in, especially in the city. So for long term ownership that can save a significant amount of money, moreso if you can charge regularly for a decent rate.
In terms of sale price, the G70 is a bit cheaper, but quite a lot slower. The 340i is a bit more expensive for the comparatively optioned, and while 0-60 it is around the same speed, it also still doesn't have the same highway passing potential since it still has about 100 hp less. He's spot on regarding the BMW being more sporty around the corners though if you're looking for that, though technically you could get the Polestar edition of this S60 Recharge and it might be closer or better, but so far I don't think any of those have shipped yet. But expect to pay an extra $7k over a fully optioned non-polestar variant.
Honestly I think this is the best out of them comparing just the three (which is why I own one myself) but honestly I'm not sure how directly this competes if you were looking for something more electrified. I'd say this competes more with the Model 3 Performance or Polestar 2, but is the better option if you don't want to or can't go full electric yet. There really isn't a sedan plugin hybrid in this price range or below that is better, both the BMW 330e and 530e aren't even close due to their undersized electric engines and batteries.
buy bmw 340 i byibride 23 mike range eltríç móde
it competes more w the gas cars imo. i dont know why you are suggesting to have to pay iver msrp for one of these. mine is fully loaded non polestar and i got it under msrp by a couple thousand!
And I would add, that is also a very good looking car I give this one to thumbs up!
I’m glad you are pretty good with this one
I see they use a thick foam engine cover instead of insulation on the “bonnet”or hood to make it quiet, different , but Volvos are always different.
Yes I love the Volvo s now since I bought v60 2018 cross country the wagon performs great as car instead of suv great investment for my commute and love the review of this model.👍👏😉
JoeBall do YOUS remember the 1987 tops baseballs cards had the faux wooden frame outline surrounding the players picture?
Nice sporty looking car, duel or quad exhaust would have finished it off nicely ….👍🏻
Volvos are definitely on point! This one is 🔥🔥🔥
Hey, Joe always was of fan of Volovos, cause mainly cause of their unique style. I wouldn't go white personally maybe red or blue. But hey just to let u know I did change my profile pic so I still am the same person as before, I hope u like it Joe 👍 On Throttle!!!

The new recharge Volvos no longer use the supercharger , engine is new.
It usses a starter/generator in leu of the supercharger now.
Also top speed is governed at 113mph. One thing I hate about my new car. Same as the one you’re reviewing.
Looks pretty much like the 2020 S60 T6 I bought for my wife in 2020 … no big changes in design here

@@RaitisRides literally nothing to see design wise. Same exact design language inside and out.
Any chance you could do a review of the V60? S60 looks great, I wonder if the wagon has the same characteristics.

Another great review! I have been considering an S60 for some time now and I have owned BMW 3 series for most of my life. I still think the BMW 3 series looks sportier especially now that Volvo removed the exhaust pipes... Not a fan of that honestly.
not sure about USA, but they have the V60 Recharge wagon version in Canada.. thats the one Id go for

Would look nice with gloss black door handles
I was in the market for a new car recently and I did think about getting Volvo S60 but what I was hesitant about was the engine…since it’s not your standard 4 cylinder turbo…if anything mechanical goes wrong I bet it would cost a fortune for that. Excellent review comparison to the M340i xDrive didn’t get much comment. For me, the Volvo is just too heavy. I know that BMW has piled flab on the 3 series, but the M340i is about 450 pounds lighter than the Volvo. I’d also be worried about the durability and repair costs of the Volvo’s complex powertrain.
A very nice looking car. Really the perfect car
I've gone to Ikea, ate some Swedish meatballs and left, didn't look at one piece of furniture.
rear end is perfect, no pipes

Hi, Joe, this Volvo s60 is a beautiful car t8 turbocharged supercharge inline four 8speed automatic all-wheel plug-in hybrid pure ev we get 455 hp and 523 pound-feet of torque 0 to 60 3.9 seconds quarter miles goes on 12.4 at 115 miles hours curb weight 4463 pounds however all people say that infotainment system shouldn't be vertical and it's kind of perplex to understand overall this car is nice polestar optimization thanks
I like the black Volvo badge!
This design and colour combo really reminds me of my Mazda 3 sedan
It's a nice vehicle. Almost looks like a Jaguar. I do agree with you about the blacked out Volvo logo. If it was an off-black? Like a charcoal color? Would look 1000 times better. Would've been really nice to have a 3.5 liter V6 in it.
Now we are talking

Just odd they didn't include black lug nuts in my opinion. Sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe just me. But the dealer I'm sure has it as an accessory. As always, thanks for the review Joe
Those are actually plastic lug covers. So, in theory, you could swap them out for black plastic covers. But I agree with you about the look.
Joe, do you know how critical I am of electric vehicles but this one is a nice combination of hybrid and gas motor and it seems like it may have the balls it needs to keep me happy. I would absolutely consider this car. It’s a little bit over my price range, but not too bad And I know because I used to work in the engine laboratories at Exxon that these Volvos are bulletproof! We used to run them on dynamometers for literally six months at a time with only stopping them while going up to change the oil and sticking them back on the dumps again doing all kinds of testing. And they never broke down never! They were very blot and milquetoast compared to this vehicle. Like I said, I would actually buy one of these in a heartbeat if I could afford it. 22:09
I’m glad I can share this one with you man! It’s great to find out what is really available out there
So this Volvo is maxed out on options and no spare tire. So if you purchase it without the options. Will you still get carpet in the trunk? I take it a spare tire would add another pound to it.
Volvo is a Chinese company located in Sweden for quite some time now. Even before China stepped in, reliability ratings were always pretty bad, unlikely it is better now.
The Gorgeous Acura TLX Type S with this drive train/power would be perfect.
I thought the supercharger was removed for 2023, essentially replaced by more battery?
The top front quarter of the fender and hood reminds me of a Mustang.
