There are only two angels whose names are given in the book of Revelation: Abaddon/Apollyon and Michael. Gabriel isn't mentioned because he doesn't play a major part. In fact, _none_ of the angels play a major part. They blow trumpets, they fly in the midst of heaven and they pour out vials of God's wrath. These are the seven angels in heaven. But there are also four angels on earth who operate under the authority of "an angel ascending from the east." See Rev. ch. 7. Also, there is an eighth angel who appears to be in charge over the seven angels in heaven. See Rev. ch. 8. There are also 144,000 men who are sealed by the angel ascending from the east and his four angelic helpers. See Rev. ch. 7. Now, Michael and Gabriel are among the seven angels in heaven, who blow trumpets, etc. Yet the eighth angel is over them. Again, down below, on earth, there is an angel set over the whole operation: the angel ascending from the east. Who is this angel ascending from the east and this eighth angel in heaven? It is one and the same angel, for God does not put the end-time operation in the hands of two individuals cooperating together, but into the hands of only one. John gives is the name of this angel in charge of all things, calling him Abaddon/Apollyon. This identifies him as God's divine _destroying angel_ . All of the angels in heaven are _saving angels_ except for one, who is a _destroying angel_ , and this is the angel who God puts in charge over the end-time work. The destroyer will be a king, living in the region where the bottomless pit is, and will have all the keys and power necessary to bring to pass the restoration and restitution of all things, with jurisdiction from hell to earth to heaven. Everything will be put into his hands. Jesus called him Elias in Matt. 17:10-11. So, before the Savior returns in the Second Coming, the destroyer goes forth to prepare all things. He is "the angel of the end times."
Arcangel Micheal will rise up in the last days of turmoil like there has not been since beginning of time all hell will be loose on earth and archangel Micheal and the other angels will fight once more with Lucifer and his minions he calls his angels. Gabriel may already be on earth to? God sends messenger and yes usually there angels or prophet's.
FIRST TIME: Daniel 8:16 - "Gabriel, explain the vision to this man." SECOND TIME: Daniel 9:21 - "I was still praying, when the man, Gabriel, whom I had seen in vision before, came to me in flight..."

Didn't Saint Vincent Ferrer claim to be the angel of the apocalypse?
The angel of apocalypse should be alive and kicking on judgement day of course
