Im having the same problem on my 99 Corolla work beater and my struts are NEW ! All 4 of them. My tires are oversize. Im gonna go back with the recommended size tire for my car.
The strut slipped if you can move it by beating it you probably have a loose pinch bolt needs to be properly torqued hit a pot hole and you we back to the same problem
Instead of 245/40r20 u shouldve went with 245/35r20. U wouldnt have had that problem. And u wouldnt have had to void the warranty on those new struts lol
Thanks for the tire size. I have been thinking of getting thinner tires just wasn't sure of the right size to get . Those are the original struts, I'm trying to find some coilovers for the front and back.
that actually was my first time I had to do that but when I replace the tire I had to do it again. it actually works better with a long handle sledge hammer, it gets the job done much quicker with fewer hits. I originally didn't record myself banging on the bottom of the strut , I wasn't for sure it was going to work until I was done and saw that actually worked. Sorry about that
Hyper Sport77. Thanks i was just bout to go buy one at walmart the short one but guess I'll get the long one... As you say. Guess ill buy the long one then.
Yes I haven't had a problem since, but I'm trying to find some coilovers for the front and back because I want to lift my car up just a little bit higher
The rim is not giving me problems I do not want to beat it with a hammer...and I'm trying to find coilovers for front and back.. I was just giving some fire information that help a lot of people. obviously you didn't need it but thanks for the little information
This video is really helpful, I'm on a tight budget this really helps. That a sick looking olds.
Thanks
Nice Tip man thanks, I just the same issue on my Kia Sedonna !
How'd it go after. Any issues?
Thanks I got a bolt holding the struts that are like 1 inch off of biting the tire I have 22s
Thanks gonna try it on my precidia got cut springs and running 18s
“But hey it was free”
Thx for posting

A burning tire sensation lol I'm dying laughing
😂
😂👍
That part had me dead
😂😂😂
@Black Raider How'd you go with it?
What is that thing that’s on the spring?
Can I do it to the back ones ?
Wouldnt the spring force it down again?
Dope stuff. My mans just called me telling me that struts rubbing against these brand new staggered 20ins.
I'm pissed!
Thanks 😊
Isnt this what spacers are for
225 tires should easily solve that issue. 245 is too wide for your car
I grinded mine down on my benz, also a 30 tire is great for that extra fit up front, but good vid whatever works
i have a 2005 c230 with 19” rims but the space between the tire and strut is almost nonexistent ehat should i do
@@jesusromero6174 c230 sport? What size tires excactly
I cut half off in weld it 3in, plate higher for 26 on a GLK350,u think now u can ride 30in rims

Not the case with putting new rims on
@@guydonwilliams6755 doesn't matter new or old loose pinch bolt is a loose pinch bolt if you can move is by beating.
Will this work for 22s
I"m going to buy that baby sledgehammer right now, Thanks for posting. Ey almost free, worth a try.
Hello sir & mam. Im here watching this vid because im in this situation😂
Thank U
Brother, the tire tread is supposed to be facing the opposite way.
😂😂😂😂😂
I'm try this
What about the rear? I have same car, and have to take the rim back because is rubbing?
Is different it has a shock and spring, which I had no problem with when I had the 20in wheels on it

William james same thing I said when I saw this video cuz 20’s fit perfect with no problems I got 20’s on my impala I’m bout to go 22’s myself
Is this safe lol
I love this
Wish u would of showed us the actual video of u beating it up.

It's faster & easier to use a bottle Jack to bend it up. It's a couple videos on UA-cam showing how
Is it still holding up without problems
Yes I haven't had a problem since, but I'm trying to find some coilovers for the front and back because I want to lift my car up just a little bit higher
Can I do this to my Camry back struts
Yup I just did it
What’s the name of your rims
Bent
Strange i have 22" on my 94" Oldsmobile 88 with no problems???
Harris Caldwelly he got the wrong size tires on there the height of them should be 35
@@marcusedwardshtxso that's what it was👌🏾
You wouldn't have had to beat the new struts...cause they're ( lifted ) struts ....duh ..take that hammer and straitin out that bent rim
Lmfao
