This could be a game changer for people on a budget! I'm new to e-shifting and I love it! Didn't know it was necessary until I had it. Maybe something I get for my Izzo. I'm not so much on a budget, I'm just cheap! Ha! It looks like a legit product. Can't wait to see the review out on the trails.
Looking forward to how it shifts on the trails. I've been E-shift curious for awhile, but never pulled the trigger on one cuz of the extremely high price tag.
Looking good but I wouldn't really consider this a budget alternative given the fact you can get the GX Eagle AXS kit for roughly the same price. It's around 100 EUR cheaper than Sram's GXS AXS Transmission version. And honestly, I'd choose having to charge this weekly over additional battery weight any day. I really wish they went with a superlight removable battery and make this even more suitable for rough mtb use. I use Sram's Rival AXS on my gravel bike and literally only need to buy the derailleur and the controls for my mtb as I can use the same battery and charger. Being able to take the battery off and charge it independently is super convenient and a big advantage in my book.
Never seen someone to adjust B screw on the bottom of the cassette. Even WT manual says it must be adjusted while on largest sprocket. btw adjusting limits screws that may cause RD to fail to shift to largest/smallest cog, since it will hit the screw and will back to previous gear. Loose them adjust every gear if needed and then tighten them until barely touch. They don't do much here and are just safeguard, not like mechanical RD.
Typically you would adjust it from the largest cog. However I just added tension to the chain and got it within 4mm of the bottom cog. It shifts very smooth after adjusting it this way. Sometimes I find this to be the best place to start when messing with a RD. Then testing the shifting. If it shifts good then you are done. As for the H L screws this is how I do it for all my bikes and it seems to work well. I am sure there are better ways but this has worked for me both wireless and mechanical. It might not be by the book but I am ok with that.
You will damage the motor in the derailleur, limit screws are only used here to stop a technical breakdown if it tries to add a gear and throw your chain. I don’t even have mine screwed in.
@@RunBikeMike I understand what you do, but ... seconds later you state, that you have to be careful when you shift to largest cog to not allow RD jockey to touch the cassette. Which is exactly why B screw must be adjusted on largest sprocket which guarantee it will never happen. Anyway I don't find B screw adjustment on EDS OX to be so important like on mechanical RD. It works fine on much larger diapason. But it can be only me ... As for limit screws, not much more to say. If you let RD to reach limit screw for some reason, you just put motor under stress which in my opinion is not a good thing.
@Jeckyll4e I was simply saying to watch it the 1st time you shift to make sure it doesn’t hit. If it does then you can adjust it more or adjust it off of the large gear. But if it works as is then no need to go through it. I don’t really know about the high low screws messing with the motor. I am simply adjusting it the way that has worked best for me and sharing my experience is all.
@MountaineerFPV in my opinion your paying for no questions asked warranty with Sram. I purchased new brake levers because they seized and the bike shop said I shouldn't have bought them because sram would have sent new ones out for free. It's zort of like paying extra for a Santa Cruz frame knowing you get lifetime warranty. Although santacruz do contest warranty claims.
Bingo! I agree. I think AXS GX is for OEM but retail is just a little gravy to get it out there before OEMs put it their 2026 mid market production bikes.

For the price, it's indeed very tempting.

😮affordable meets wireless? Thanks for the install and overview side-by-side, this is a video with your audience in mind!
Man if I was a single bike type of person, I’d get this for sure. But the problem is I have more than 1 bike. But it’s definitely tempting for sure.

SRAM is overpriced and if they do not self correct they too will feel the consumer pain.

Gx upgrade kit 420€ now.
Just removable batteries are worth that diference
Nobody pays rrp for their components
I haven’t used AXS on my bike yet, but a replacement kit isn’t that bad. Still, half the price is pretty compelling! 😅😅
I imagine the oem market is the biggest target for Sram , not individuals buying components .
