One major money pit down in South Beach, one more to go. Fortuitously enough, it’s another hotel, albeit one without the baggage associated with the Sun Ray. An art deco classic ensconced in warm pink neon, it’s hard to believe that the Swansong Hotel is just down the block from that roach motel of carnage. Sweetening the deal is the man in charge of the place, José. Yes, the guy’s brachycephalic enough to make the denizens of the nearby trailer park look like makeup models. Yes, he could be knocked out by every other Front Manager on your payroll in under a minute. Of course, that’s your prime reason why he’s the easiest target along the hotel strip.
However, you’re not the first to milk the place dry. José’s lawyer, a Sheffield in his own right, is showboating in the wake of embezzling enough to put the Swansong in dire financial straits. As far as the beleaguered victim is concerned, you’re just another vulture looking to peck at the carcass of his business. Assuage José’s rational skepticism by making his vigilante fantasy manifest, as he’s bound to be fleeing the country any minute. Head down to the pier, turn any of his suppressive soldiers into shark food, and introduce the timorous extortionist to the business end of a gun barrel. Do that, and the Swansong’s yours for the taking.
Of course, as you might have noticed when clearing out the Swansong of any of Gaspar’s forces, chainsaw and other one-shot weapons are only going to become more and more common in Gang Nests. Obviously, they are a priority target whenever a telltale rumble or a suspicious lack of riflefire alerts you to their presence. However, it’s just as important to never downplay the danger with fancy finishers and moribund maneuvers. One second can easily make the difference between sterilizing a Nest or getting slaughtered, so always stay on point.
