Despite this video being SIX years old, I'm new here and felt compelled to say thanks and just compliment you on your tutoring style. Not sure what line of work you're in, but you have a very soothing tone to your voice which you should see as a great asset! Thanks again and happy gardening ☀️
great video! I teach kindergarten and have shown a few of your videos to my class as we learn about plant life cycles and their needs. you have an excellent style of explaining the information...the kids love it! keep up the great work!
You just made my day!!! Where do you teach? I'm honoured you use my videos to teach the next generation. It's so important to get them involved and learn about the cycle of living things. Thank you! :)
alicialicia82 I teach 2nd grade in Florida and plan to show it to my class when we start the plant life cycle in October. I already bought little pots and basil seeds to start with them. ❤️ Thank you for all the great videos Project Diaries!
I’m a total newbie for gardening and thanks to your video I am growing tomatoes from seed! Have been ill and this has helped me so much. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge it is very much appreciated.
This is wonderful and unbelievably practical! I love how the Plant Guy takes the time to show us the growth of the plants as it goes through stages. He also kindly takes the time to show us preventatives, up front, that will save us from getting bad pests or plant diseases. THANK YOU!!!
One of the most comprehensive gardening videos on UA-cam! It's so useful to see the development of a plant from seeds. I also like the fact that you don't thin out seedlings in modules - seems like a waste Subscribed and looking forward to more videos like this
It's very easy. I've done a full serious on how to grow Tomatoes so check out this playlist of you'd like to learn more :) ua-cam.com/video/5rVZBSphj7Y/v-deo.html
Jeff put a slice of tomato in the soil in a pot with a piece of a plastic sheet over they grew well then when the plastic was lifted by the seedlings we put a large cut pop bottle over it we are now ready to transplant so this video was very help full thanks jeff and chel
I must say, that while there are others out there that have excellent experience in gardening, I must say that ( you ) are special in the fact that you ( even though you may not be aware of it ), are conscious of the fact that not everyone has the money to invest in some of the items that are listed as essential to the success of a good harvest. Thank you for your valuable knowledge of your skill. I have become a subscriber of your site, and look 👀 forward to many more of your wonderful gardening techniques indeed.
one time we tried to grow tomatoes and my brother pulled them off before they were ripe, definitely going to grow them somewhere else. THANKS for your videos! They have inspired me to start making gardens!
Thank you for this wonderful video. Came for the tips on Toms and got so much more! Gorgeous Blackbird singing, a great face & speaker and an invaluable channel to subscribe to 👍 Please keep up your great work 🙏❤️🙏
Hey Mr Project Diaries (weird name, but I'm a modern guy, I can jam with that). This is the first of your videos I've seen and I subscribed immediately. I'm an 0% beginner with 100% enthusiasm and your way of explaining is exactly what I need. Thank Jeebus for the internet and thank you for you.
Great video with really good, understandable explanations, thank you. I smiled when I heard, "...this is the U.K. and the weather is completely unpredictable." :) Waving from Canada.
I looked at getting your tomato seeds from your own tomatos so I am trying these for the first time, I hope I am successful as you love your videos and have learnt a lot from you.
hi lee I'm watching your videos as winter sets in her in west australia as i love how you do your way of gardening ive followed the same way and had great success, i do hope this message reaches you and hope you are well. X big love from Sarah West Australia
Very nice video bro. This is my 2nd year growing tomatoes. It was definitely trial and error last year. I'm in Northeast Louisiana and the weather here is very unpredictable as well. But this video was very informative and I'm gonna take what I've learned here and apply it to my garden this year. Thanks alot! Gonna go watch the rest of your videos. :)
I don’t even like gardening but your personality makes it better! My 8 year old son has shown a lot of interest in gardening so I’m trying to learn some basics to I can teach him. Thanks for making informative and easy to follow videos!
Great video! You covered everything needed to grow tomatoes, and your results are fantastic. I planted some seeds today following your instructions. Thanks for sharing.
Yep! That's why I'm here. I'm growing everything from seed this year, minis a few lavenders. I've even planted sweet pea seeds from 1998. Interesting times.
TheSpaceCat65 it’s okay because from now own I’m planting my own veggies thanks to the virus it opened my eyes I can have this fresh on my backyard no need to depend on others for these! 😉
Thank you for this eccelent tutorial, very well presented, and well created, hope you are keeping well especially in these hard times we are experiencing COVID-19. Please stay safe, thank you again.
Wow, just found this series and it's brilliant, really looking forward to seeing all the videos whilst self isolating thanks to Coronavirus. Keep up the great work
I moved from Cheshire to Cornwall about 12 years ago after uni (Notlob). It's always wet and miserable by the sea but we've had so much sunshine now everyone is stuck indoors. My lil cherry tomatos sprouted today 😊
I love it that you separate and keep both tomato seedlings, u thought I was the only one who did that. Such a shame to throw away a perfectly healthy seedling. love this video
Diana Gonifas I know! Im kinda in a pickle. I underestimated the fantastic germination of the tomato seeds I acquired from Bakers Creek Seed Co and now I have 3 seedlings coming up in almost every 36mm jiffy pellet I planted them in. I would like to keep them, but it seems like the pellets would be too small for that
@@chrismugleston8625 oh dear, that's funny, it's not easy to separate seedlings in the jiffy pellets. My seedlings are a little too leggy, won't be able to plant them until 1st June, due to late frost. I live in Wyoming 4 thousand feet above sea level, and gave a short growing season. So I'll have to report the seedlings in a larger pot in a few weeks or so. A lot of trial and error gardening here.
I am growing tomatoes for the first time and this video has been very helpful. I like how you explain everything, your voice is engaging and yes, those birds in the back... I feel like I am in a Rick Ross painting LOL
Thank you for this video! I appreciate it!! Such great info! I always try to grow tomatoes and can never successfully do it but I am determined to do it right this time.
oh my gosh you're adorable. I saw the yogurt cup and I am in love now. lmfao! Did you know strawberry cartons you buy from the store are perfect seed germinators too? It even has a lid.

please make a video on repotting and separating tangled up roots of many small tomato plants growing in the same area as this is the new problem i am faced with; thanks:)
Great video!, i'm new to gardening and this really helped, I have one question though, when I plant the seeds should I keep it outside or inside?, thanks and keep up the good work 👍
Thank you so much for showing us all how to do this! I’ve killed every dang plant I’ve ever had in my life and I haven’t been much into plants or gardening except for this year when we finally got the space needed to grow stuff. My tomato starters have all taken off like weeds and have lots of new leaves! So exciting to grow something of your own. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with this newbie! 💕
Hi, oh my God!!, I found you finally. I used your way to grow avocado Hass, when it is not possible in canberra weather. It survived more than 1.5 years then I did stupid thing I put it outside for sunlight. I was putting back pot inside before evening and 1 day I forgot to put inside. Planted my cherry tomatoes a few days ago and they're sprouting! Love your channel Lee. I've planted Brussels too and they've sprouted. Have you ever grown them?
Hey i have a problem.... i planted some sunflower seeds and because i have just started out with gardening i didnt expect them to all grow and survive! I now have 6 sunflowers (the biggest variety) in a garden without soil! Theyre all in containers so i'm kinda afraid i dont have big enough pots for their roots, i am getting kinda tired of de- and repotting and i feel like i dont have enough space.. Whats the best thing i can do? Also i tried to grow tomatoes from slices of old tomatoes and i worked perfectly! Well they did until my baby nephew threw the pot upside down... i manager to save one little seedling and its doing Well. I thought i got all of the seedlings out of the soil but now there is a similor seedling sprouting in my sunflower pot! Should i sacrificie this seedling or should i hope that it actually is a tomatoe seedling and let it grow? Anyways love your videos, they have been very helpful for me! Greetings from The Netherlands!
Sunflowers don't really have a large root system so they should do ok in a medium pot with lots of sunlight. Shame about your Tomatoes but it's up to you what you feel you can do with your seedlings. It's easy to start again as they grow pretty fast :)
I always wanted to learn about Gardening, I find books to difficult, I remember my grandmother, who was amazing at gardening, getting really frustrated at me, or laughing, when I for instance asked her how long should I water each plant, she said 20 seconds so I would count, I find your tuts so good, I am starting with the tomatoes and will keep working at it.. I am still ADD, but even at 67, I can still learn, thanks...

nice video. my sis and i are going to plant some tomato seeds and we are following your video step by step! thank u so much! u are so informative and very clear
Thank you for some great tips. I have some tomatoes on the way, started in my son's greenhouse next door (just moved out aged 42!) with 2 outdoor varieties from seed and a few ready started. All are doing well - TOO well, with over 40 on the go. Will plant what I can and give some away. Like a friend who refused some, I do not care for the smell of them in the greenhouse but hopefully look forward to a bumper crop. I am afraid I am one of those who believe this is a PLANdemic, being used to subdue and control mankind and with no intention to take dodgy vaccines or RFID tracking chips voluntarily and thereby risk being cut off from society so growing my own food (and stocking plenty) is the way for me to go. Seeing this video has me missing how life was already. Liked and subbed.

So happy it worked for you. you're both very welcome :)
Finally not a 1 min video which shows basically nothing.
Well done!
Really clear instructions. Will definitely be following. Thank you
Thank you for some great tips.
Such an excellent video! So helpful! I’m growing tomato’s for the first time from seed, so far the little seedlings have started growing. I’m excited to follow these steps. Thank you! And I can’t wait to have a nose at all your other vids!
