This doesn't make us sick or disabled of in need of fixing. We just aren't taught the right mechanisms to deal with ourselves. Or you're a demigod and it's your battlefield reflexes. Choose one
I have ADHD too, and I could never read books without getting distracted midway, but I completed the whole Percy Jackson series without getting overwhelmed! I love the way I could imagine things. That was the first time I enjoyed reading novels!
I really like how this series incorporates ADHD and dyslexia in a way that not only normalizes them but also puts kids who might struggle with reading in a position where they can see themselves reflected on paper as heroic.
I love Percy Jackson and the Olympians so much... I wanted to stay up all night reading the series! The books in the series are so interesting, and I just love them!
I have never read more than one book in a year. Than I got Pjo at Easter and since that day I can't put a book down! Thank you Rick for Pjo, hoo, toa... they have changed my life! (Excuse my english I'm from Austria)
Ooh interesting ^^ I just recently got into Percy Jackson and I read all 5 books plus the latest 4 and I gotta say I love the series just as much as I loved Harry Potter. Both different heroes with very different backgrounds and very different tasks. I love them and I can't wait for the final book to come out :)

Yeah I'm also ADHD i feel him i could never just sit down and read and if they made me sit still i would basically turn in to Leo and start tapping mores code or tinkering with something near me
Not to be rude, but, do you have dyslexia a too...? Because If you feel something stirring inside-stop reading immediately. You might be one of us. And once you know that, it's only a matter of time before they sense it too, and they'll come for you.
The Percy Jackson series will always be in my heart. I read them in 4th grade and I remember them chapter by chapter, the other day some girl in my class mentioned it and we talked about the books for about three hours. I'm in 10th grade and we both knew all the books basically chapter by chapter
Rick Riordan is such an inspiration to me as a young writer in Middle School. He is truly a genius with the way he writes, and I hope to be like him someday. If I ever meet him and his son, I'm going to thank them a million times for writing the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus.
Rick Riordan is the reason I want to work in fiction writing and editing. To be able to work with such a passionate, caring, and dedicated writer such as Rick is an experience I’ve always dreamed of. Books like his inspire people to do great things that they never thought they could. Thank you for all your work, Rick! I can’t possibly tell you how much you’ve changed my life as well as thousands of people around the world and over the years!
I haven't read harry potter series so i don't know how amazing they are but , let me tell you , my cupboard is full of Percy Jackson series and rick roidan's books and i can't be more glad 💖
I freaking love Percy Jackson, I keep re-reading the books all over and over again until now! If it weren't for his son, Rick wouldn't make this amazing Book Series. God Bless them, I don't how I would love if Percy Jackson didn't exist at all!
I really appreciate Rick Riordan for writing this book because as I am also ADD and dyslexic this was honestly the only series that I wanted to read. I was so enchanted by it and I still am!
I love Rick Riordan's books I recently got into percy Jackson after finding magnus chase. He's the only author I'll ever read, I've read two of his books in a week. I'm not a reader but if I read a book I'll want to read more and can't stop.
To me they are not just for kids but great family entertainment. I for one love all the Percy Jackson series and the sequel so to speak The Lost Hero etc. All great books.
the only books Ive ever read willingly (so, not counting books Ive had to read for school) were the Percy Jackson series. Not even ashamed about it tbh. This guy has to be the GOAT author, he literally made a young adult, entirely fiction/fantasy book series POPULAR among the general population of kids in schools
The first time I read the lightning their was 4 years ago, when I received the book from my best friend. I freakin loved that book!!! I hated reading at the time, but I seriously just loved that book!!! I got even more enthusiastic when the sea of monsters came out and so on. RICK IS THE BEST AUTHOR EVER
anyone else want to like give his son a medal or something; percy jackson is like my favortie series ever. i started the series when i was 12. The second book, i believe, had just come out. i read that one first (oops) and fell in love with it. we had also just finished a greek mythology unit. between that and Riordan's book, I'm now applying to college for a major in Greek and Roman Studies. :-)
Sons telling their fathers to write down their bedtime stories are how we got some absolutely AMAZING books and series such as The Hobbit and Percy Jackson.
It's crazy to think if it wasn't for Ricks son encouraging his dad to write down the Percy Jackson story he was telling him we would've never had the books!!
I wish I was taught by Rick Riordan. I'm in middle school though. I would give ANYTHING to go back in time and be taught by him and get to read that manuscript. I would do anything to meet my hero.
Wow!! _All_ of them??!😃 Including Camp Half-Blood Confidential,Percy Jackson Ultimate Guide,Kane Chronicles Survival Guide,Hotel Valhalla,Nine from the Nine Worlds, and Camp Jupiter Probatio's Journal?!??
As an historian with a Mediterranean civilizations master, I have to say that his idea is fantastic. The simple existence of a series of books that will make young people enjoy this beautiful civilization is appealing to any historian. The only problem is that since he’s not an historian himself, many of the myths and other details related to Greek/Roman mythology, mentioned in his books aren’t told/explained correctly. Also, there are too many flaws referring to the historical accuracy of the books. I could also notice that there were many aspects that weren’t properly represented. I’m just saying this because I really want all these young people to be well informed. This critic only referred to the historical part of the whole series, but apart from that, to be honest I really loved the way he represented the mythology. He did it in a way that young people could enjoy, which honestly is admirable. The way he adapted everything to our modern times was very fun to read. Another admirable detail is the way he taught young people about mythology and didn’t make it sound boring at all! A very positive point is how he introduces Greek mythology in a very enjoyable way. You can clearly get an idea of who Poseidon or Zeus are without him fully explaining their story. It's a good way to make people be attracted to mythology and want to learn more about it. For example, JK Rowling and Rick Riordan have one thing in common, they both make you want to belong to that world, especially to those teenagers who don’t feel like they fit in their environment. These fictional universes allow them to live other lives where they’re special and that helps them cope with adolescence’s harshness. And this beautiful story behind the books just makes it better, he’s a fantastic father. Sorry if my English wasn’t understandable, but I’m not an English speaker
Oh yeah, I’m not into history but he was on point with his mythology. When I was younger, I read an entire mythology book in a day and liked it. Later, in fourth grade I read an excerpt of Percy Jackson, which I really liked. I was looking for the book for 2 years. I finally found it my sixth grade library and I keep learning about mythology because Rick Riordan fueled that interest.
Alright. Let’s get to the part where Rick explains him making us depressed and killing our favourite characters. Like Percabeth in Tartarus, Jason and Piper breaking up, Jason dieing, Leo dieing, etc.

Rick was ahead of his time. ADHD is apparently now hypothesised as an adaptation for hunter-gatherer societies that sharpen combat instincts.
Creating an entire book franchise to encourage his son to read and do well in school. This the most wholesome thing I've ever heard.
