Very nice!! Great find.
Yep git lucky there...lol
WOW, what a great job on the clean up and the sheath. Have a great day and a great weekend.
Thankyou you too.....
Great job George. That Buck is a really nice knife.
Yep. Scored there..lol. be safe
Awesome knife, amazing sheath. As for the marks your clamps left on the leather. I recommend making some soft jaws for your clamps. Leather pads you can glue on the inside and fold over the front of the jaws of all your clamps.
Good idea. Many thanks. Be safe and appreciate your support
Great job all around, you really lived up to your channel's name. That knife has a long life ahead of itself. Skills are developing nicely, I wish I had the vision to be able to see the finished product from the raw materials, truly a gift.
Lol..thankyou. to be honest I just have an idea and do it. The end result well sometimes chickens, sometimes festhers....just saying. Appreciate the support
I like it!
Thankyou appreciate the support
👍
Nice idea to give it to a friend to say thanks. 💪
Thankyou my friend
Outstanding 👍💯🏆🥇🗡️
Thankyou sir. Be safe
Great job your skills are improving.
Thankyou...nothing like persistance...lol. be safe
You made an awesome sheath for a substantial knife that got all its character back.. wish someone could roll back the years on me like that :D Your friend should be well pleased with that....thanks for the vid, buddy....Jim
Thankyou, appreciate your support and be safe out there
Turn out very nice George. Super! Rog
Thankyou my friend be safe
Great work George. So glad you found the Buck dating Sheet. That was the picture I was wanting to send to you. Have a wonderful weekend
Yep. The other one I found did not show all info...lol. thanks again. Be safe
Excellent job, George! You've really got a nice knife and sheath set there. That Buffalo nickle snap was a perfect choice! You can call it the Buffalo Skinner 😁 You've really improved your skills at both cleaning and reburbishing old knives, and leather work. You keep this up and before you know it, you'll have a business you can't keep up with! Congrats on a job well done!
Lol..I do it for fun. Over working for a living. Just enjoy doing it. If it as a business it would not be fun anymore...just saying. Be safe my friend
Looks good man.
Nice combo!
Thankyou aporeciate you watching and commenting. Be safe
Very nice George, Thick leather can be a challenge.
Yep. I try to avoid it...just ordered the wrong leather. But it worked OK but hard to manipulate. Be safe
Nice looking sheath!! The 103 is still on my list of knives to get👍Cheers, buddy!
Yep, it's a nice slicer for sure. Be safe my friend
Really awesome job! A real treasure. I’ve got a pretty good guess of where that knife is going :-)
Thankyou. ..lol. if you know you know...lol. be safe today
Excellent George nice knife , and the sheath looks good , well done mate it’s unique and it’s sharp ! Well It cut you lol. Bravo .
Lol...true story. I never learn
Wow, Man very impressive. You are very good at using what is on hand. A true true environmentalist. That sheath...bloody awesome...you know the saying, You don't really own your blades till you spill your blood on em. That's me, You too, that's cool. I have been searching the World Wide Web for that Fieberg's dye & that Glitz polish you speak of, maybe not sold in the deep south you'all. I use a metal polish, a little pea sized dab & I lean on it real heavy 1/2 inch area at a time & it will make any metal shine like a mirror, called Flitz...Ha Ha Ha, Chuckle Chuckle Chuckle "sorry man just screwing with ya" You the best George Thanks for everything, Rogue...
Argh I did it again...getting old. Thanks again my friend be safe
If you give your new sheath a good rub with some Neatsfoot oil it will take out the squeaky sound and make the knife easier to remove from the sheath.👍
Ahh I have some will do thankyou.
I really like that thick strap. I seem to always cut my straps putting my knives up. I guess I just keep them too sharp...
Yep. Alot of sheaths don't come with the extra bit on it. So land up cutting the stiching
Very nice George 👌. Maybe you better get a deer tag this fall and put that Buck to work? Or maybe a trap line🤔? Enjoy your day tomorrow my friend. 🇺🇲🌲🔥🔪
Lol...not a hunter, just fish. Don't eat meat...doctors orders.....unfortunately. be safe
Nice. It turned out really well. If you didn't know it would be hard to know it is not original. That leather looked like a bear to work with. Have a great day
Lol..it was very thick and difficult to manipulate. But it will work. Take care my friend
Is your friend you're sending the Buck 103 to a Marine Veteran perhaps? Another really cool restoration job and really love that sheath too!
Aaashhhh. Maybe...just saying. Lol. Be safe
What’s the clear rust remover liquid your using Geo? Great job especially the sheath. ❤
Lol. It was rustolium rust desolver. Not my first choice as it was pretty strong and was nervous using it.. . I normally use a natural product called evaporated rust which is not as toxic and reusable.
Your Dremal with a cloth type wheel and some jewelers compound should polish the Buck handle right up we used that in our workshop in school to make things out of plastic and then polished the plastic with that product and clear plastic polished up like glass, that is what jewelers use to polish gold and silver jewelry I seem to remember it was the red version of jewelers rouge or polishing compound, it was like a stick we placed against the spinning cloth cotton wheel of a polishing machine it had like a 6' cotton wheel, but your Dremal should work with its small wheel, that Pommel on the handle is aluminum so is kind of soft and probably will not get chrome shiny, wheel polish from Walmart automotive department like Mother's wheel polish is designed for aluminum wheels should work good, the thick leather can be made to fold easier by thinning out the area where you bend it they make a leather knife for shaving that area to thin the thickness down so it bends easier, the same for the edge where you will be stitching it, that leather is designed more for being flat like on a saddle and is to heavy for what you are doing
Yep. Tried that. It worked some.
Very nice! I'd like to know where you get your snaps from?
I find them on Amazon. Wide range available.
I think these were from Hide and Drink..not sure but they on Amazon.
Hey George I'm gonna DM you. Show you some really good diamond stones for very little money. Would make that system far better than it is with those plastic based stones that it came with.
Coolio, thanks
Amazing job on both the knife & the sheath brother.
How does the T-Shirt fit? 😂
Thankyou. The T shirt is perfect Thankyou. Did you make it?
@2ndchancegeorge sure did, just a little side hustle, as well as car/window stickers, maybe I need to get some stickers made so you can add one to the wall of shame..........j mean fame 🤣👍
@christreadwell4540 lol...I want a sticker. Wish you were local.
@@2ndchancegeorge I still owe you a car sticker, and I wish you were local too 😆
Would you be interested in sharing what is the product you prefer and which one you don’t prefer? I have several knives I inherited from my Dad that are NOS knives but they have some rust on the very edges. I am trying to figure out what is the best was to get rid of the rust without damaging the knife more! Thanks!
I like evapo rust. All natural product. Not to strong and you can reuse it. No nasty chemicals. I used rustoleum here but it's very strong and you have to watch it. Couple minutes is all it takes.
@@2ndchancegeorge Thank you wry much for this information. It helps considerably.
@waynemiracle8928 glad to help. Be safe
Ohlaa. Be safe my friend
