Diva Dance was originally a song from the classic sci-fi movie The Fifth Element starred by Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich. In the movie, this song is sung by an alien, with high-pitched and staccati notes that's not meant for human to sing. There are several female vocalists that can sing this intricate song fairly well, but Dimash is the only male vocalist that can perform it this good. @@WastedTalent83 that song is impossible for human to sing.(because parts of it in the film was made with computer). They all changed it to accommodate their voices, including Dimash. But you right, his version is the best. He obviously is continue to work on it, compare this version with his more earlier clip from china's "singer" competition and you hear the difference. I think he nailed very difficult phrase in the end (in china’s version he simply use staccato), in film that peace not even done with the voice it is just play on synth.

Great reaction. From what I gathered, Dimash started singing lessons at 5 when it was found he has perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with Honours, having achieved a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career. His range is about 7 octaves now but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it. He also plays six instruments; the dombra, piano, drums, guitar, xylophone, and cello.

This is summary from Dimash performances, he never confirmed that by himself,and never answered question about his range.Dimash says,range is not important, important, how you deliver the song. this song does showcase his range and skill at quickly transitioning up and down the scale.....but what I found to even more remarkable about Dimash is his emotional connection and intuitive brilliance in using the many colors of his voice to tell the story of the song. He is able to produce many textures in his vocals across all registers, and he transitions seamlessly between them. Even his stage presence, his mannerisms and and facial expressions, perfectly synch with the message conveyed in his vocals. ...he is simply masterful, in both technical skill and in artistry.
In fact he has 7 octaves range, I mean C1-D8, and he hit those extreme notes in live performances. Any time you react to Dimash you must be prepared for a surprise ... or more ... like key and register changes, insane runs, crazy dynamics, and more... Dimash sings like that not only because of training, his voice has native capabilities. He was gifted. Anybody else could train for a millennium and will be not capable to sing like that if the voice doesn't help him/her.

That song is from 5th element movie, made by computer, because nobody was actually singing in the movie. But trust me, he did not give everything. That was only a small part of his unlimited abilities. You need to see more videos with other songs. I would recommend SOS, Adagio, Olimpico (Ogni pietra), Across endless dimensions

This song is from the movie The Fifth Element starring Bruce Willis. It's a sci fi movie, and in the movie its sung by an alien. It was electronically altered in the movie to give the effect of being sung by an alien, it was never meant to be sung by a human voice, but Dimash comes pretty damn close to mimicking those synthesized alterations they added to it.
Trust me, you will be surprised many, many, many times listening to Dimash. Dimash never reveals all his tricks and does not demonstrate his entire range (more than 7 octaves, if we take into account the vocal-fry). We do not know the extremums of Dimash. The "Diva" referred to is the blue alien diva in the movie The Fifth Element. There are clips of the movie version on Y.Tube. The original was a combination of a woman's voice and sequenced samples of her voice to make it seem impossible for a human to sing. Then there's Dimash. You said before that you've already seen "S.O.S.". Try "Sinful Passion" next if you haven't seen it.

Has masters degrees in classical voice, contemporary voice and composition. (has started work on his doctorate in composition.) Still does 3 hours of vocal training daily. Refused a position in an opera company to pursue his chosen career in classical/pop cross-over. And the recorded, live performance range is 6 octaves & 4 tones... I'd love to hear what he can do when he's practicing.

Yes, Dimash started operatic training at age 5, when his parents noticed he had absolute pitch. Now has a masters degree in composition and is working on his PhD. His mom is an opera star in Kazakhstan (and he clearly got his soprano voice from her!), his dad is also a singer and music producer, and I believe his grandparents were singers also. He was offered a position in a Kazakh opera company but he decided he wanted to have more fun with his voice than classical music would allow, and we are all happier because of his choice! Although I'd die if he would start singing some of the opera repertoire too - what could he do with Violetta?? He's beyond amazing. Welcome to the magic ride!
At 5, he told his teacher that one of the piano key was out of tune. Upon listening to a foreign song, he can sing it perfectly without even knowing the language. All was done by memory with the help of his pitch perfect ears. Besides born with pitch perfect, he is categorically a musical genius.

It’s over 7 octaves. The dears, his fans know this... proof from his live videos. What you’re hearing is his version of the diva dance. Arias can be adapted by the diva. In the movie the fifth element the song was written where no human could sing it. The took the divas voice up to where she could sing, then the technicians made the rest of the aria in the computer. So no one had tried it until Dimash’s version in the China show I am a singer. Then more people were trying it after this.

There is one other singer that could hold a note for a long period of time which was Melba Moore but Dimash can also hold a high note and then go down to a low note in a split of a second. He surpasses all the legends.
There is a clip of him singing a snippet from the queen of the night aria. Effortlessly and just messing around, but so easy for him. There’s nothing he can’t do perfectly

His range is about 7 octaves now but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it. He also plays six instruments; the dombra, piano, drums, guitar, xylophone, and cello.
Now we know for sure that he is an alien and there are four elements hidden in him. :)

this song does showcase his range and skill at quickly transitioning up and down the scale.....but what I found to even more remarkable about Dimash is his emotional connection and intuitive brilliance in using the many colors of his voice to tell the story of the song. He is able to produce many textures in his vocals across all registers, and he transitions seamlessly between them. Even his stage presence, his mannerisms and and facial expressions, perfectly synch with the message conveyed in his vocals. ...he is simply masterful, in both technical skill and in artistry.

Dimash sings like that not only because of training, his voice has native capabilities. He was gifted.
Anybody else could train for a millennium and will be not capable to sing like that if the voice doesn't help him/her.

This song is from the movie The Fifth Element starring Bruce Willis. It's a sci fi movie, and in the movie its sung by an alien. It was electronically altered in the movie to give the effect of being sung by an alien, it was never meant to be sung by a human voice, but Dimash comes pretty damn close to mimicking those synthesized alterations they added to it.

there is no autotune with Dimash. The "Diva" referred to is the blue alien diva in the movie The Fifth Element. There are clips of the movie version on Y.Tube. The original was a combination of a woman's voice and sequenced samples of her voice to make it seem impossible for a human to sing. Then there's Dimash. You said before that you've already seen "S.O.S.". Try "Sinful Passion" next if you haven't seen it.

He's from a professionally singing family and started studying at age 5, when they realized he has perfect pitch. Has masters degrees in classical voice, contemporary voice and composition. (has started work on his doctorate in composition.) Still does 3 hours of vocal training daily. Refused a position in an opera company to pursue his chosen career in classical/pop cross-over.
And the recorded, live performance range is 6 octaves & 4 tones... I'd love to hear what he can do when he's practicing.

Yes, Dimash started operatic training at age 5, when his parents noticed he had absolute pitch. Now has a masters degree in composition and is working on his PhD. His mom is an opera star in Kazakhstan (and he clearly got his soprano voice from her!), his dad is also a singer and music producer, and I believe his grandparents were singers also. He was offered a position in a Kazakh opera company but he decided he wanted to have more fun with his voice than classical music would allow, and we are all happier because of his choice! Although I'd die if he would start singing some of the opera repertoire too - what could he do with Violetta?? He's beyond amazing. Welcome to the magic ride!

At 5, he told his teacher that one of the piano key was out of tune. Upon listening to a foreign song, he can sing it perfectly without even knowing the language. All was done by memory with the help of his pitch perfect ears. Besides born with pitch perfect, he is categorically a musical genius.

It’s over 7 octaves. The dears, his fans know this... proof from his live videos. What you’re hearing is his version of the diva dance. Arias can be adapted by the diva. In the movie the fifth element the song was written where no human could sing it. The took the divas voice up to where she could sing, then the technicians made the rest of the aria in the computer. So no one had tried it until Dimash’s version in the China show I am a singer. Then more people were trying it after this.

There is one other singer that could hold a note for a long period of time which was Melba Moore but Dimash can also hold a high note and then go down to a low note in a split of a second. He surpasses all the legends.
