    few tips , use mopar penetrating fluid to soak yer jets in and spray into all cavitys of carb and let sit for an hour then just spray out with brake clean , it will eat everything , trust me its a must try if working on carbs a lot , I don't even use weak carb cleaner or ultrasonic anymore
    Another thing when finished repairing a carb especially needle and seat issues , put carb on studs but don't tighten up yet , leave a gap and then hook gas up . leave it for a while and you will see if its bypassing needle as it will drip out instead of secretly going into cylinder , when doing this test fill gas tank full so you have the max amount of pressure of gas against it .
    Always pull off motor cover and look for nests on top of cylinders when getting a barn find mower that hasn't been run in a while , some times ya can't see em from outside , you will smoke the engine fast if fins are covered .

    Nice fix. Luckily, that Intek came with a Walbro carb instead of a Nikki. I have the same engine on a 2008 Yard Machines & I swapped the factory installed Nikki with a Walbro off a neighbor's Murray that threw a rod. Runs better with the Walbro. For what it's worth, my Briggs manual says it's 48oz of oil if the engine has a filter & 44 if it does not.

    Nice video. Love that needle seat honing tool. I've got to make one of those. Like others, I noticed the backwards gas tank right away, but I was more curious about the placement of the shutoff valve. Doesn't it make more sense to place it in front of the fuel filter? That way you can just turn off the fuel when you need a new filter, instead of draining the whole tank. 🤔

    • @doublewide6
      @doublewide6  8 місяців тому +1

      Usually I put the fuel shut off first then I can change the fuel filter when servicing the carb. I have another video on how to make the honing tool.

    • @doublewide6
      @doublewide6  8 місяців тому +1

      I think the brand is tenda it’s about 3000 psi. It has been working pretty well for about three years and I’ll leave it outside except in the winter. I switch the metal tag with a plastic tank because the metal tank kept getting water in it when it rained.
