As someone just getting into Legion I appreciate how you explain the rules and keywords and often times offer realistic scenarios certain things can be used in. I know you've probably repeated yourself countless times by doing so, but the extra bit of effort is really appreciated. Some other channels might be like "yea we just went over the new mercenary rules last week so I won't cover them again in this video." I personally like the constant reminder of how things work, and also how they've since been updated/revised. Lol i've been binging your videos for like a week now. Thanks man!
My secret is that those reminders also help ME remember! :)

The armor (absent the helmet) looks the same as the Phase I clones. Couldn't you put a Phase II bucket on one of the kama having models from the Phase I Upgrade pack to make a sweet, sweet sergeant?

It'd be great to have two versions of the phase 1 and 2 Clone Trooper. One painted as regular white shines, and one painted as your favorite legion.

Glad to have some suppressive options for my clones. Will certainly help me deal with the shore trooper heavy Empire lists in my area.

Any thoughts on using the paints from fantasy flights vs GW for painting these minis, thinking of getting into mini gaming through Legion. Also which core set would you recommend?
These are super rad with top quality moulding. Just wish ffg would produce some more realistically sized packaging.

Technically R2 is the first Republic unit on sprue
These went from 23.99 for phase 1 clone troopers to 33.99 for these in the uk hell of a price rise
With ARC Troopers announced, the only Republic units (barring commanders/operatives)I need to come out are Clone Commandos

Looks great. I got into legion because they weren't on sprues.
I got into legion because its superior to Warhammer's rules sets and attention to balance using points rather than changing how the game fundamentally works each update.
I got into legion bc it’s Star Wars.
Anyone have any idea how many Phase II Helmets are in this set, & whether they are interchangeable with the Phase I helmets on older sets.

What kind of glue did you use?
I'm not sure how I feel about the sprues. On one hand the soft plastic is very quick to put together and get into a game, on the other hand hard plastic allows for higher detail and have more potential for posing.
In the case of most of the minis in this expansion they are pretty much monopose.

Hey nice unboxing! I habe a question absolut the fire support. So.. when a clone unit has a open order token but has like 4 suppression tokens, is it able to pull of the fire support?

Would you advise building/gluing these together before painting? The extra bits assembling these seems like it would making painting individual pieces a real pain.
as a miniature collector/gamer for decades there are advantages to painting on-sprue and for painting once assembled. The way I will probably do it (for what this is worth) is to assemble the bodies, but paint the other parts on-sprue, then assemble, and then touch up where necessary. For my B1s I based them on-sprue and assembled then drybrush finish, but the clones are meatier so I am not as concerned with losing parts with them
Armada and Xwing shelves are almost bare at my local game store in TX, and it's a huge store with tons of other products. Other FFG games like Outer Rim are also scarce. Is FFG doing OK?
That is the million dollar question. They laid off the RPG staff and it looks like they made cuts to other staffers recently, too. But besides this, the coronavirus will seriously impact their supply chain as most everything comes out of China.

Some Phase IIs seem to have made it to the UK - no sign of the B2s this week or next week. Most of Europe is also still waiting for their Armada Starhawks, which were supposed to be out in January. FFG seems to be having a problem with Europe at the moment.

I wish they just did P1 and P2 troopers in one box and P1 P2 arcs in one box. I wanted P1 Arcs and I’d have to buy two boxes to do it when I don’t even play the game :/
Any reason it would be a bad idea to use a spray primer on the entire sprue?
If you first assemble the bits that fit flush (front and back bodies, for example) on the sprue (meaning, take the small piece off and plastic glue it to the larger piece while it is still attached) you should be good. The spray will make the parts a teeny bit larger due to the medium itself, which makes those flush connections sometimes look bad. But other than that, knock yourself out.

I haven't been paying to close attention to ffg lately so I'm kinda confused why they moved away from the soft plastic.
Hard plastic has a couple advantages over soft plastic. 1. You can get better sculpts that can handle temperature extremes without warping as bad (no more hot bath cold bath to straighten out lightsaber blades). 2. The costs are better, but only if you have to crank out a tonne of them, hard plastic has a more expensive up-front cost for the machine tooling and such but the material for injection molding is cheaper. 3. faster turnaround from digital sculpts to negatives to make your molds.
I think this is the way the industry is heading, moving away from soft plastic and resin minis, even in companies that are not your Games Workshop miniatures focused hobby, purely based on what I saw over the last couple years at GenCon. And I think its mostly due to reason #3 above.

@@ExileTwilight I guess I am a lowly board gamer so it looked fine for playing purposes for me and I was hoping for legion in the same style as x-wing and armada (pre-painted) but to each there own.
@@thecaryou I get you - originally, I was not a fan of the original Legion material, but the simplicity of assembly really did grow on me, especially the later kits where they went with the round-peg-and-hole allowing some posing. Still, as hard plastic kits go on sprues, it does look like FFG is doing a good job of keeping assembly steps relatively low.

@@Crabbok I'm so confused... just recently started checking out legion. Do stores only allow you to play units for which you have that proof of purchase? Or can you only enter tournaments with that thing? I play a lot of Warhammer 40K and I know a lot of GW stores don't let you play with models that aren't made by GW. Is this similar?

Thanks a bunch for this video, but I honestly don't understand why you're fawning over the couple of build options so much. Especially after the Phase I, B1 and B2 all being almost as multi-pose as humanly can be, I am severely deflated that they've gone back to mono-pose with these.
