Aw man I have bought a 12v drill to use with my air horn as I thought I would have to match the voltage as the horn is 12v. Will I need to get a 20v drill, I don't want to build it and then find I have to go build another one with a 20v drill.

Can u use instead of battery drill use 'electric' drill and plug into dc lighter socket?

What size hose does the unit take ? I plan on doing this mechanism but increasing the hose length ... this way I can seperate the drill from the horn

So my 18 volt Ryobi drill won't be strong enough it has to be 20 volts or more your saying or can I get away with 18 volt

Wont that 12 volt compressor burn up running 20 volts through it?

A typical 12v car doesn't run on 12v. It runs up to 14v. Most 12v systems can safely run up higher than 12v.
The 20v drill legally can't say it's 18v without paying TTI royalty fines since they copyrighted that language for power tools. But they run on the same power. And they drop quickly below 18v when under load.
Knowing all that, it's safe to say you will not burn up those compressors.
