would love to see Steve Morris on percussion here. He was a HUGE devotee of krautrock, as per his excellent book. The original human metronome. A machine on drums.
I love Stephen Morris but as a devotee of Krautrock he would probably appreciate it when I say that in this context Jaki Liebezeit was the original human metronome...
Crystabel Riley During late naughties Crystabel toured Japan and Europe playing drums and electronics with industrial noise trio Maria and the Mirrors. She is also a pivotal member of ongoing improvisation project Debbie Leggo; a collaboration with Scottish poet Gerry Mitchel and musicians such as Tom Jackson. She has played drums and percussion for Micheal Rother and improvised alongside Daniel Thomson, Sue Lynch and John Edwards.
Hallogallo is the motorik I always return to. Schön.
How many pieces of music sound as good as this after 43 years? Neu were ahead of the pack by a loooong way.
Absolutely
Still leading the breakaway
NEU have been a major part of my adolescence, when other trends come and go, Neu is always number 1
It was first released in 1972.....
51years agooooo!
the lady drummer is excellent

I would say the original human metronome was Maureen Tucker
I agree with all of you.. it's the best..
Hans Lampe is the other drummer on the left with the hidden head
Much better than the original drummer

Gotta admit, the bald and the hair is a great mix in this video.
Michael seems nonplussed.

Pretty good stuff.
Also ausgescheichnet!
Nothing we can do klaus as gone . But he would of been proud i’am sure
"would have", not "would of".
Hope that helps.
I first heard this song in UA-cam’s early days. The video was of spray paint art.
motorik-Apache-riverbeat
While I do think the presence of multiple drummers does disturb the minimalism of the original, it makes it rock just that bit harder!
2 drummers like on the B side of NEU! 75!!!! :)...who is she??
Crystabel Riley

I was at this gig. Who was the young lady on drums?
I wonder who she plays with?
Crystabel Riley
Brilliant. Who is the second drummer here? The lady?
Crystabel Riley
@@WillyBilliams Thx 👍
What are the things on the headstock of his guitar?
Sorry to be boring, but they look like a clip-on tuner and a pick holder/box
cool
Bliss
Great version, but even two drummers can't match Dinger (and seem at odds with the essential minimalism of the music)
Need 2 Drummer to replace Klaus Dinger! At least Neu ! Still there
Das neue Neu
check out porcupine tree's cover
Brilliant piece of music... One drawback, the drumming is a bit too overpowering.... Perhaps I'm just showing my age.....
All that matters is what Rother does. None of the band hires do anything spectacular.
you dont need to be a virtuoso to play good music. and good music doesnt have to be virtuose either
That the way it works! ;-)
The drums are spectacular...!!
Amazing
