please explain in detail where the box "adjust diaphargm lateral mass to move mass " is to checked while defining mass source in static as well as dynamic earthquake analysis. I will highly be obliged
THANK YOU.....I defined the mass source in ETABS2016 but it did not calculate the self-weight? Mass X tonf-s²/m, Mass Y tonf-s²/m, XCCM, YCCM all show ZERO?? how can I fix this.
You're welcome... Go to Define.. Mass Source... Then define all the parameters... As shown in the video... 2nd also.. Define the earthquake load pattern Then again check.. All values will be shown..
thank you for the video sir!! i have a question for "Adjust diaphragm lateral mass to move mass centroid by". As per ASCE-7, I remember we need to add 5% of the building dimension perpendicular to the applied seismic force. Also called Accidental Eccentricity. So is the "Adjust diaphragm...mass centroid" button for this?
what happens if we uncheck "lump lateral mass at story levels"? and what is "lateral mass" and "vertical mass" in options "include lateral mass" and "include vertical mass"? can you elaborate that with examples? And thank you very much for such a nice video!
For dynamic analysis or Earthquake analysis, ..... The whole story weight assumed to be considered at story floor level.... that is called Lumped mass approach.... Now this lumped mass can displace in X, Y and Z direction ........ (For X and Y... it is called Lateral lumped mass and for Z it is called vertical mass.....) ...................For earthquake analysis 95 % chance is only lateral components matters, so that is why ..... we click lateral mass......
@@civilmdc I would like to ask your help at something very important in Etabs, well, after designing the ribbed slabs the symbol of direction (arrow) in wich the loads are distributed has not been displayed, I tried many times to display it but not successfully, in your opinion what could be the problem, because I have got to check the right direction of the ribbs and also what does consider the axis 1 2 and 3 according to colours ? Thanks in advance

Is it possible to get the pdf
@@bilallechvien4558 do you want pdf of code file.... please your email id.
Code ASCE 7-16 Minimum Design Loads link is not working here either could u plz share it

Yes,
@@civilmdc thank you for the answer!
When should we define mass source?? Before analyzing the model or after analyzing and before calculating seismic Base Shear only???
Dear, it is discussed in the video.....
If you do not need to consider seismic effects.... then no need of mass source.
@@civilmdc Dear sir, What is lump lateral mass in storey level? could you plz describe in more details?

how about BS or EURO codes ? Im not able to found it in the codes
That is present in every code.
You have to see the dynamics chapter
Thanks for the efforts you made. Pls Keep it up.
How about water load?
what's the minimum multiplier for dead load sir
It is as per code...
1.2 Dead
Thank you
God bless. 💕💕
Thanks
