LEGO Remote Control Monowheel

- My custom built motorized, steerable, remote control LEGO Monowheel. I originally started making this as a proof of concept for a LEGO BB8 droid model.
It is controlled using the 2 Power Functions M Motors and a counter weight based propulsion/steering system.

At the beginning, you think, "hey this looks pretty good!" Then it shows it breaking down the stairs.
Imagine if car commercials worked the same.
Tesla Cybertruck....lmao
@@aarondj6061 *breaking the stairs*
@@pmj_studio4065 Well I'm not sure if cars perform well on stairs but it certainly would break down the stairs
😂
I think volvo's ads were like this some time ago
🤣
Complete LEGO BB-8 incoming?
I hope :)
I do hope
lol
I would love that!
I am so looking forward to a second prototype!!! YES
General kenobi.
Hello There
General Grievous.
I've been trained in your jedi arts by count dooku
the steering system blew my mind :o

Hello there! - General Kenobi!
The problems you mentioned about this model are things that I would have NO idea how to fix, but it seems like you already have some ideas for improvements. Just shows how good you are at working with LEGO. I'm excited to see an improved model of this, but even the way it is now is pretty neat!
When I saw the stairs, I was like " It can seriously go down stairs?!'. I now know to not raise my hopes too high.
It did go down them though. Just didn't make it out in one piece.
Kandi Klover Reference to the SpaceX booster failures compilation?
Wonderful system. I would like to suggest a servo for steering. If you use either remote, click reset/let go and it centers.
good idea :)
I was just gonna suggest a servo motor. I think that's the best and easiest way to do it.
I knew it was a good idea to subscribe to you.
absolutely!
Talk aboot an underrated channel...
I saw it headed for the stairs and my eyes widened, just in time to laugh out loud at the first drop. That was great. Well done & keep them coming.
should add some springs so it won't get PWNED by stairs
Owned?
Luke Wood uhu
where do you put the springs?

Yeah, as soon as I saw the steering solution, I realized how much of a pain it would be. Self-centering is pretty much a must! Still, awesome design. Loved the video.
Really awesome! Now make it look like BB-8 from the Star Wars!
I tried to make a monowheel a while back but I couldn't get it to work out, nice job, this is awesome
Loved the product placement, Jason! I'm always impressed to see what you come up with!
It is really great what you have come up with and thank you for detailing how it works! Sharing your knowledge with the Lego community is very noble thing. I really appreciate learning different building techniques from you. Thank you!
I'm in awe with your videos and how incredibly smart you are :) Love the videos!
Very cool, nice work! Good editing.
Amazing as always.
JK Brickworks, this was amazing! Keep up the good work!
WOW ive been trying to make something like this for such a long time and your weight mechanism for STEERING is ingenious, i thought about it for making it move forward but STEERING. good job!!!
Looks really cool!
Cracking device !
And the steering-mechanism is so simple, I couldn't think about a so cool idea !
That was awesome!!
I love that turning mechanism!
This is awesome I always love your creations they are so unique
So easy but also so cool!
It's so easy that this wheel drives, but to have this idea, well done!!!
Been binging your other videos all day. Great to see a new one.
First thing I thought was 'LEGO BB-8 in the future?' Would love to see instructions or even a LEGO Creations kit :)
Hah. Bing. What a funny joke.
typo. I'll take it though :P
That furry icon tho
lol jk its a cool icon better than those crappy roblox icons
ScarletLightning565 it's basically a lego ollie
I'm glad you decided to make changes in the future because there is no way you can make them in the past. Nice work just the same.
oh my god, it is so fu**** awesome!
i love your creations!
Nice work!
This Concept is amazing!!!!!!!! IT's So COOL!!!!!
I Absolutely love the way it turns!
great concept !
OMG this is absolutely amazing!

Fascinating!
Grate vid man loved it
Man . YOU ARE À GENIUS
Amazing !!!!
This is neat!
Awesome!
been thinking about something like this for a long time this is great!
Me too ideas.lego.com/projects/126131/updates
Again a great idea and wonderful execution on the design of the ball. For the first version it already looks good.
To centre the counter weight you could use a PF servo with a small liftarm attached to move the counter weight. Press the red button on the remote and the counter weight will centre. And like mentioned before in the comments is to use a Sbrick. This gives faster control over the fast moving ball compared to the train remote. Good luck on improving this idea. Although it has been done before this is the best RC ball I have seen so far.
Even though this "BB-8" looks like a work in progress, it looks like a good representation of Wheel Kirby.
that is soooooo cool!
This is so weird I like it.
That was awesome, really well done
i have no idea how this would translate into lego, but you could look up gyroscopes and the conservation of angular momentum. It would make a more stable machine and more accurate steering...amazing work nonetheless
very cool build
GENIUS
Brilliant!
love the steering system i did not think it would be that
I like seeing some of your other creations in the video
Wow amazing
coolest thing ive ever seen
Nice Design :D
It is cool. It would be interesting to see improved version of the wheel.
it is so awesome!!!!!!
so cool
You make some pretty cool Lego stuff!
Thanks!
This. Is. Genious.
Amaizing :D
Realy Cool!
I love it ❤️
Cool build bro
Lego needs to hire you my friend! I hope Lego is listening. :)
Wow
Nice lego wheel
awesome!!
his builds could become sets there so good
You should be working at NASA developing space ships
lego space ships
+JoeyAktosh ikr
The question is. Do they make space rated LEGOs?
+Bruno Ferreira they do build some of their blueprints in LEGO, to test the concept!
I know it's so cool
good engineering!
SUPER COOL
Very cool
Count Juggula approves this build!
Also it seems you are rotating a dial for the counterweight to function, use an axle rod in the hole and one of the peices that were on the Bohrok sets that were eyes so that it always points to where the central balance point is. KUTGW!
super cool
So cool
Very cool. :)
NICE, dude
Awesome :D
he gets my vote from a master builder award
damn you're really brilliant.
Super video ;)🤗
I love it
wow so cool
For a self centering mechanism, you could attach something to the remote to mark where the mono wheel would be strait up.
You are really becoming a filmmaker as well, Jason :) That leg-shot was hilarious and perfectly cut! Also thought the introduction was well-paced overall. Great work as always
Cool, thanks!
Nice house tour
clever use of how motor weight is use for the steering
"It's a good day for some mayhem"
-Junk Rat
Fire in the hole
this is something i would se in a future movie
General Kenobi! You are a bold one!
Just a quick idea for focus in the video: Position the object by hand at distance it's gonna be away from the camera when it's moving and focus the camera, then disable auto focus. This way when the object is of the frame and just passes by for a short time, camera won't focus on the walls.
Genius!
