THIS is how a repair video should be filmed. Excellent information, perfect pace. I have to do this same job, but my truck is vastly more complicated due to the addition of an Edelbrock supercharger. Sigh. There goes my vacation!

I will be starting this same job on a 2003 Expo 5.4 for a right head that is leaking coolant but I will pulling both heads off for a complete check and repair. I'm trying to get myself in the mood to getting started. LOL....... great job on your video.

Great video👍 im at the point where all i have left is valve covers , crank pully and timing cover. I have new headers instead and hopefully should toss code . I just wanna add that the Dorman aftermarket intake manifold robs power. The stock ford one is actually an easy fix if isn’t cracked too bad where the coolant cross unit connect . I disassembled the intake and cleaned up and put a high temp rtv in the lil crack, reassembled and let it fully cure . Zero issues . I had the Dorman and switched back to the stock one and noticed the difference in power🤘

    Just a tip:
If you send these heads to a shop to get clean, make sure the freeze plugs are still in.
I just found out what a freeze plug is.
This is not how I wanted to find out what a freeze plug is.

Epic video here man! Well done on your work! I know you must've sworn on that thing for a couple of days while working on it, but you succeeded! I noticed some bubbling in my heater core, it has been doing it for awhile now, but the radiator fluid lvl doesn't seem to have changed, so I'm guessing it's just air pockets that need to be released. If my gasket is bad, then I will for sure keep this video in mind if I take on this challenge of a job!

I took my 2002 Ford F150 5.4 L V8 to the shop with a blown plug in cylinder seven for the second time. They didn’t feel comfortable changing it so they said they would change the Motor. I told him that was ridiculous. I just wanted the head replaced what’s wrong with mechanics these days! It’s hard to find a good mechanic these days!!

With replacing the head gasket...I would replace any parts that was taken off that could be replaced. Especially if it was never done or needs to be done. E.g., water belt, fan belt, thermostat, pulleys, tensioners, etc.

Thanks for the video. I have a 2000 F-150 5.4L 3 valve triton. And I spun a bearing and need the crankshaft. From what year to what year can I buy one that it’s exactly the same? And is the 4.6L be the same crankshaft? Thank you in advance. 🚙👍🏽

Sneaky torque sneaky torque. Worse than transmission bolts. Great job. If I had a little more extra money I would change injectors same brand as OEM. AS a DIY person don't want to go in there again. One big bill and never again. Appreciate all your tips. That's a job and a half.

when humanity moves toward electric vehicles. this complicated stuff will be a bad dream. it's a problem to do with planetary drought, high levels of CO2, deforestation, lower oxygen levels. and an unwilling public to embrace the necessary change. and btw, that's going to have to be sodium ion, not lithium ion batteries. people need to listen.
