AWW! I know this episode took a long time but I'm thankful that the N.ergetic Nation is patient enough to allow me to give the time each episode deserves to be the best it can! Ooooh a fancafe is something out of my reach and don't know precisely what it is... But from my experience and understanding, fancafe's seem to be an online group dedicated for a specific fandom! Kinda like how we have Discord channels dedicated to certain content creators we support? I'm assuming the cafe part is a play off of internet cafes but I could be wrong! I don't know EVERYTHING about Kpop but if anyone wants to lend a hand, GO FOR IT! 😁 AND OH LORD, THE GETTING CLOSER FANCHANT AND THANKS FANCHANTS ARE BRUTAL. Anyone who can do that all in one breath is an absolute UNIT and you will gain my respect 😂
ok so fancafes are sorta getting phased out now which is really really interesting to me (i was part of bts’ fancafe before they moved to weverse) but essentially they’re the fanclub forum. lots of them were hosted on daum and u usually have to apply on a yearly basis. u can access stuff for free on the fancafe but what theyre REALLY there for is for hosting the paid content. it’s linked very closely to an idol’s fanclub. for bts they had specific days u could apply and you had to follow a really specific set of directions to be accepted. go to the forum, answer the quiz questions (in korean) in the correct part of the forum, wait to be accepted by the moderators. it was HIGHKEY stressful for me lmfaooooo there were whole twitter accounts dedicated to helping intl fans get into fancafes i actually think it’s a really fascinating topic as it’s been evolving along w how the hallyu wave has hit western culture. they’re using vlive+ and weverse memberships now in a very similar way to how fancafe used to work!
