I've never used one before, had no idea how to fill it you or how it worked... so your little video was very helpful to me... not boring at all! I'm trying acrylic pouring for the first time so this little thing will be perfectly. Thank you for creating this helpful video.
Nonchalant: Old wife didn't work anymore. Had to go pick up a new one...😮 But on a more serious note, thank you for walking through that. I just picked one up myself with a slightly different refiller but it gave me the confidence to light it up to try to loosen the O2 sensors on the van while I got it apart to replace the alternator.
If you hate Harbor Freight Tools so much, then why do you review them? It looked liked it did exactly what it was designed to do at 60% less the cost of the other brand you mentioned.
Thank you for the demo never used one before but I started paint pouring on canvases so gotta get rid of the air bubbles .. So your demo video really help me figure out all the things that I needed ..
I bought one of these a year ago, It has worked flawlessly, I have had to refill it about 5 times, It runs quiet a while on a filling. I rebuild model airplane engines, I use it to free up stuck engines, heat and expand aluminum parts to take them apart or to put them back together, places where you need pinpoint heat. You can lock the flame on with the side button on the left side, I do not like the safety slide under the ignitor button, But I just ignore it.
You can file bigger grooves in that child safety latch or have your kid light it for you their fingers are smaller !And you can always disconnect it, which I'm in( positively sure is not recommended)... But on another note, do you know how to replace the igniter It would be a much better tool if it came with a better igniter or replacement instructions and a spare igniter😊
@@santiagoleiva6921brazing I'm not sure but it does solder wires and other things together pretty good as long as you're not trying to do it on the circuit board lol... It also heats up a hand operated compression cylinder pretty Good as in one of those tobacco presses..
I know nothing about torches so this was useful, thanks. I just bought the same one from Harbor Freight for putting planting holes into woven weed barrier.
They leak out as fast as you fill them , wonder why they dont come with the pointed soldering thimble , then i could solder with it , if it didn't leak out as fast as you fill it ..
I just got the same one from Harbor Freight. The cashier said "it's final sale". I wasn't planning to return it but asked "well, unless it's defective, I won't return it" Cashier said "it is still final" Came home, tried to fill in, it doesn't take the gas, keeps spilling. I bought exactly the same butane can thinking the nipple might be different, same thing. I looked up the website, thinking not return, but there should be solution or fix for this. "No warranty" it says and nothing more..
Just bought one to shrink wire connectors on a portable antenna and to quickly solder some ends on coax cables for ham radio projects. With a coupon, and only $12, will do just fine for its intended purposes. Watched the filling process so I didn't screw up. Yes, it's from China but almost all are. Disposable tools.
Saw video. The presenter was saying before they invented treated wood. They would char the wood to keep it from rotting. Worked good on wood fence posts.
Thanks for this video, I just picked one up a few days ago and finally got butane today and the igniter on it does not work, I have to use a lighter to get it to light. Looks like I need to return/exchange mine.
I agree that video is not bad besides the fact that you really talked harbor freight down to the point of almost making a person not want to shop there😮 The harbor freight micro torch actually is a pretty good tool , But the safety child latch yeah it sucks hard to work with at times. (maybe if I had itty bitty fingers It would be easier to deal with🤭)and the igniter sucks! But that's only if you use it a lot! And there's no instructions on how to replace that igniter! Well I'm looking for some anyway and I'm on my second one, If you happen to use it a lot like everyday 6 or 7 times a day You might get four or five months on the igniter anyway that's What I got out two of them So 30 bucks a year maybe isn't as cheap as you think You know it's name brand is not harbor freight meaning they don't make it They only sell it. I have found a sparker or bic lighter will ignite the micro torch not as convenient but works...
So by the looks of this video, this could definitely be used to put a little heat on a stubburn old kitchen sink basket to help free it up, to replace it. Perfect! That would be 15 bucks well spent to avoid frustration:)
It’s crap. Save your money. Mine wouldn’t ignite on first try, so it became a two hand operation to hold the safety and press the igniter several times. Unacceptable.
I BOUGHT ONE TODAY AND IT WAS TOTALLY JUNK !! THE FILL VALVE KEPT LEAKING AND WOULD NEVER SEAL UP !! GOT ONE USE OUT OF IT BEFORE ALL THE BUTANE LEAKED OUT !! TOOK IT BACK TONIGHT !!
It is designed to bleed the air out while filling. It seems and sounds like the butane is coming out but its oxygen. I thought the same as you. You are supposed to keep filling until liquid butane comes out as shown in this review.
Ive had mine 2 years. It only feels cheap when empty because its lightweight. You can even observe the reviewer noticing this after he fills it. Nothing seems cheap about it to me. The people complaining about it not lighting havent figured out good adjustments. I take mine up to 10,000 feet and have never had an issue.
Nice review you don't even know shit about it or the names of the parts, this little thing hear does this, that's the little thing here I think it does that, this do Hickey
Are you kidding ? that was a fantastic review without all of the fluff and nonsense.
Right!!!

“I’m pretty sure everyone here knows how to use one of these.” I don’t. That’s why I’m here 😂
Can this be used to heat a copper pipe for soldering?
I was trying to figure out what to get for propane refill. Thanks!!!

It was a well done review. And I for one enjoyed it. GREAT JOB!!!
Awesome review just what I needed. Thanks. Gonna use this to warm up some old bolts that need to come out.
I see it is 6 years since you made the video. How is it holding up.
I know nothing about torches so this was useful, thanks. I just bought the same one from Harbor Freight for putting planting holes into woven weed barrier.
Also use as a culinary tool for tuna melts, charring chiles, tomatoes, caramelizing sugar on bananas, oh, yum,
"Boring video?" This is the most exciting video I've seen all day, of course then again I am a pyromaniac.
I have have never used one before and couldn’t figure out the safety. Thanks for helping me out.
For best results, wait 3or4 minutes for butane to warm up before use.

It is desiggned to spit the air while filling. You are supposed to keep filling until liquid butaine starts spitting just like in this video.
i got mine for 7 bucks on sale, the crappy thing is harbor freight in my area doesnt sale butane i had so drive somewhere else just to get it
Thank you for your video, it really helped me a lot!!!
I had this for 6 years. It finally gave out. It doesnt light anymore but the fuel works. Maybe can light it with a lighter

Great video and very helpful in my decision making.
I bought one today for the same reason as your wife. How does she like it verses a heat gun?
Lois Laney there's no waiting for it to heat up. It has worked good so far.
I didn’t know how to turn it on or refill it. Thank you!
Mine has not really worked hardly at all.
That is Harbor Freight hit or miss ..
Win some lose some
Thanks for the video. Do you think I could use this for woodworking? I want to add a char to some wood projects.
Wes Williamson I don't see why not. It may not be ideal for large projects though.
Saw video. The presenter was saying before they invented treated wood. They would char the wood to keep it from rotting. Worked good on wood fence posts.
Do you have to put/buy the butane before turning on the product? Or can you just start using it straight out the box?
No they don't come pre-filled
Where can I see on how to dismantle it ?
Thanks . Helpful video
just got one yesterday. same price. amazing. but wasn't sure how to fill it. tks
Ive had mine 2 yrs. Use it everyday it is a quality bargain. Doesnt feel cheap at all.
Can i take fat dabs with this
Same
Yes.
I just got one today I hope it works😂
@@underdogwbgt120 did it work ? Because I need a new torch lol
@@3rick818picked one up today lol, hoping it works
Try the scorch torch that has the open frame
Looking for a good dabbing torch
Shit works great for dabs
Should have turned off the lights to see the change in the flame
Is the only flame adjust on side.
No. That is just the air mix. You can adjust butane on the other side. You can see it right after he does the air mix. He didnt cover it though.
Where to buy refills
Thanks for this video, I just picked one up a few days ago and finally got butane today and the igniter on it does not work, I have to use a lighter to get it to light. Looks like I need to return/exchange mine.

$15.00 - $3.00
Excellent for the price
You could make the video more interesting by lighting your neighbors garbage can on fire then waiting for the fire Department to show up!
So by the looks of this video, this could definitely be used to put a little heat on a stubburn old kitchen sink basket to help free it up, to replace it. Perfect!

Can we make brass rod melt down with this torch???
I am not really sure, but I doubt it.

Keep your fish oil in the fridge. Otherwise the fats oxidize and cause more damage than help. Thanks for the vid
so when you buy this, it has no fuel in it like normal lighters do?
nope. It does not come with butane you have to buy your own and fill it up.
Ya just give it a quick fill and your ready to rock. :)
I'm going to get one
👌great one 👍
I've had one of these 4 ever! All kinds of uses. Compare this to a blazer for $69. I'd rather buy a box of these.
Plastic is better than steel, the paint skin won't comes off like the steel ones
That makes sense. I don't mind things made of plastic as long as the plastic holds up.
Nah every plastic torch Ive had have all broke due various plastic parts getting too hot and stretching out til it becomes useless.
Purchased this solely for 4th of July
I tried it and burns for like 2 minutes only on a fill
Thanks for the heads up

John Lieske that sucks. Like everyone knows though it's hit or miss with some HF products.

I also know you didnt return it as harbor frieght has a no return policy due to its known use in the drug community.
"$15 and a coupon for 20% off.... whatever that is?" Really?? Not exactly rocket science to divide 15 by 5.
that wouldn't be 20 percent off lol. 20 percent off would be minus $3
Thank you
I took some fatty dabs with this torch
Sorry, I've never seen anyone do a review of something he admits to not knowing so much about and didn't bother to spend the time to find out.
Omfg WAY TOO MUCH BUTANE!
3 seconds, more than enough. Overfilling is bad for torches
1:07. "Right out the box ... very cheap, platicy feeling." And that's all I needed to know. PASS.
Hey man I've been using mine for like two years and it's still good, with cheap torches the lock breaks and it won't stay on but this ones goos
