Pang! I grew up on those games. NA gamers will know it as "Buster Bros". It's kind of a shoot-em-up. The player controls the character moving sideways at the bottom of the screen. Bubbles fall from the top. You shoot them with the harpoon and the bubbles split in half into smaller bubbles, which split into small bubbles, and so on. The goal was to pop all the bubbles, which also unlocked temporary powerups (such as spread shot), but if a bubble touched you, you died. As expected, the early stages were slow and easy, but later stages were extremely chaotic.
At 14:56 the furnace in Tessa's room that looks like a face is a reference to the anvil Hsien-Ko drops in her famous tenraiha attack. Her anvil has the same face on it!
There were so many references I did not expect to see here. Especially oro on the winter ski stage. I did not know about the last one with the breath of fire characters and the Megaman cameos! This was pretty cool. I learned a few things like Yun and Yang being in the background. At glance those two just look like sleds. I think the story of the game is mostly Chun Li stalking M.Bison until she catches the "culprit", then it switches over to Felicia living with Tessa, until she can make a name for herself in theater. As for the Makai, I think there's an underline adult joke being made. I once read that there was an inside joke with Jettah and Demitri because the devs really liked Jettah's M.B. form, so the castle that he is moving into maybe Jettah's. This could explain why Jettah is sprawled out in a...suggestive manner. The Morrigan's servant's name is Mugie and/or Mori (from what I know Mori is the name of the designer of Darkstalkers). As you pointed out, "Makai" places you in a area that is very reminiscent to Morrigan stage, but I always thought it was another area of Morrigan's stage. In every stage of her's (except Capcom vs Tatsunoko) we only see one spot of her room, the huge window/ Balcony facing another castle. I never thought it was her castle, since the DarkStalkers stage is in her room-- you can see her clothes and portal to the Human world to the far left in every version. Anyway, Demitri and Jettah are a pair and Morrigan is going to congratulate them. Regarding to "Cammy" at the toy stage. I think that isn't suppose to be Cammy, but Decapre instead. You can see her scar above her eye when she turns her head. Also in the snow stage there is a very girlish shadowloo sled in the snow, this may be Decapre's as well. There maybe a morbid joke there about Cammy leaving M.Bison for Guile, thus making him a single father. Anyway nice stuff. I hope you do more.
Thank you so much! Also thank you for providing the extra details! One thing I want to bring up however is I do not think that little girl is Decapre since that character is a udon creation initially and udon didn’t exist until the year 2000 which this game came out before then. Not a bad idea! In a perfect world every single character in the game would have their own stage to represent them but i think it could be neat to determine what stage would have to represent a single capcom series overall.
I was always iffy on playing this game because my little sister has epilepsy and Ken's ending has strobing lights when Eliza punched him. But i found out on the Alpha Anthology tthat a Dip awitch discovered will turn that off. So now i can play the alpha Anthology without worrying about my sisters health!

I found your channel a few weeks ago and really love your videos. I've learned a lot from this video. Here's a few things that were also in these stages too: Maximum Bar -The bandit at the top may be from the old Capcom game Gun.Smoke. Not 100% sure on that one. -The Hutizuli Statue is reference to his win animation where he is playing many instruments, including a drum and a horn -Side note: Dee Jay's Maximum bar returns in the PS1 port of SFA3 and now Street Fighter 6. Toy House -The Symbol on the Bridge on the right is from the belt buckle of Leo from Red Earth -The Chun-Li plush is a reference to the cover art of Capcom Secret File for Super Puzzle Fighter II -The Christmas tree to the right of June has a base of Pyron -The Merry "X" Mas might be a reference to Super Street Fighter II Turbo's Japanese Title: Super Street Fighter II X Beach House -The photographer kind of looks like Hollywood, an enemy from Final Fight. Tessa's Room -The music for the stage is a remix of Tessa's theme from Red Earth, Magic Square. -The map in the far right is also the map/stage select screen from Red Earth. -The Darkstalkers in with the Red Earth crew might be a reference to the Red Earth/Darkstalkers Manga that came out as well. The World Makai John Taliban howling at the moon is a reference to the opening of Vampire Hunter/Night Warriors intro.
Thanks for pointing that out these stages are so dense with call backs it can be hard to catch ‘em all 😅 btw thanks for pointing out that symbol being Leo’s belt on the bridge it was driving me nuts trying to find out what it is! I don't know if the idea interests you but I'd love to see a video on stages you'd like to see in a new capcom all stars, should one ever happen
Not a bad idea! In a perfect world every single character in the game would have their own stage to represent them but i think it could be neat to determine what stage would have to represent a single capcom series overall.
Ma'am...they're not "excited" They're hiccupping because they're drunk at a bar.
lol that says more about me that i didnt even think they were drunk than id care to admit
Tessa’s stage music is my favorite too,
The little Cammy could be a clone.
Thank you so much for this video, loved it
No Thank you! ☺️
LOVE THIS GAME WISH I COULD LEARN EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.
A lot of people overlook it but I think it’s very underrated
5:31 could be Bishamon's pet dog.
Very great work.
Those strobes back then I’m sure were to get attention from passerby’s in the arcade but it’s crazy how that wasn’t kept in check for people health back then
Nice video! 👍👍👍👍
Did you not notice pyron in the toy house stage 😅
lol Oh you mean the thing where i mention everysingle thing around it and it was also dead center and under the Christmas tree? I caught myself late in editing and recorded a line in post but negletated to actually put it in, so now i look like a big ole goofball 😅
I LOVE THIS GAME
great video!
Got any more info on Pocket Fighters?
9:43 Son Son!
6:00 in my headcanon she is decapre
Lets go with that instead 😉
My childhood!!!
22:27 22:42 22:46 22:49 WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!? they are background characters but playable capcom are being Dickies 22:54 and el yeso I've seen that cutscenes many times
M. Bison should be playable
50 percent off good thing I got my Bison dollars.
If only the ppl that complained about mc2 knew the slop we would he govin 20 years later with MVCi
MVCi was really a tragedy on how poor its presentation was done
Its my favorite game :3
Excellent choice ☺️
You Forgot That Detail At The Toy House Stage, There's A Text Below The Building's TV That Says "Merry Xmas".
5:27 Blanka?
Haha maybe? It looks kinda brown so i'm thinking its a reference that's just lost on most of us
Make power stone videos....
Very likely
@@baberuthless also analyze every episode from the power stone anime do a deep dive into the characters and their ambitions. Point out all the differences in designs from games and the anime.
yeah the little information you forgot on the Cammy part at ->( 6:00 )
Decapre was even a thing yet bro. Also Decapre never wears the red hat or has blonde hair
Hmm to me that could be possible but it’s odd cause decapre appeared in alpha 3 a year after this game.
this is (i mean this with no offense) the exact useless as fuck information that i always wanna hear about when it comes to capcom and SNK games
HAHA i'm glad I can fill that need 🤣
I found your channel a few weeks ago and really love your videos. I've learned a lot from this video. Here's a few things that were also in these stages too:
Maximum Bar
-The bandit at the top may be from the old Capcom game Gun.Smoke. Not 100% sure on that one.
-The Hutizuli Statue is reference to his win animation where he is playing many instruments, including a drum and a horn
-Side note: Dee Jay's Maximum bar returns in the PS1 port of SFA3 and now Street Fighter 6.
Toy House
-The Symbol on the Bridge on the right is from the belt buckle of Leo from Red Earth
-The Chun-Li plush is a reference to the cover art of Capcom Secret File for Super Puzzle Fighter II
-The Christmas tree to the right of June has a base of Pyron
-The Merry "X" Mas might be a reference to Super Street Fighter II Turbo's Japanese Title: Super Street Fighter II X
Beach House
-The photographer kind of looks like Hollywood, an enemy from Final Fight.
Tessa's Room
-The music for the stage is a remix of Tessa's theme from Red Earth, Magic Square.
-The map in the far right is also the map/stage select screen from Red Earth.
-The Darkstalkers in with the Red Earth crew might be a reference to the Red Earth/Darkstalkers Manga that came out as well.
The World Makai
John Taliban howling at the moon is a reference to the opening of Vampire Hunter/Night Warriors intro.
Thanks for pointing that out these stages are so dense with call backs it can be hard to catch ‘em all 😅 btw thanks for pointing out that symbol being Leo’s belt on the bridge it was driving me nuts trying to find out what it is! I kept thinking it was something from plasma sword that was lost on me
@@baberuthless No worries. I hope it wasn't too much. These are really great videos.
@@coreyvicesassistant4403 I personally love it when people point out these details that I’ve overlooked/missed since it makes the video seem more collaborative to me 😁
I got Pocket Fighters on the classic Playstation back then the U.S. didnt know thats the Jap name
Kinda prefer the name pocket fighter tbh
Nice video! 👍👍👍👍
