There's no tricks in this boss fight, unlike all of the previous ones. No dirty tactics, no insta kill moves. Just a balanced 1v1 fight. That doesn't mean it's easy. the Tuba Knight is extremely skilled. You've gotta earn this victory.

You know what amazes me the most? How, in just a few weeks, people not only have been creating these themes, but actually crafting stories and entire plotlines to these characters. Yeah, some are goofy and funny, but I've seen a lot of comments at those videos where there are stories which are legitimaly engaging and deep. Stories where I'd love experiencing them, specially in some sort of game. And of all these stories and characters, the one that most moves me is certainly that of The Tuba Knight. His theme sounds heroic and heartbreaking at the same time. As it seems to me, it's almost a consensus that people see The Tuba Knight as a genuinely heroic character, someone who believes in honor and valour, and at the same time, a tragic character forced to fight battles against his will - against his ideals. This version of his theme captures that "honorable and valiant broken warrior" feeling really well. I just find amazing how all of this started. Memes and jokes gave birth to something as amazing as this video.

Nathaniel Acevedo if you complete the "brass blade of redemption" side quest line before his fight he will later assist you in the fight against the tuba king but be warned this will alter the boss battle giving tuba knight another phase to beat
Hes the side Villain that appears sometimes. He speaks like someone with Honnor, an old Hero. Even when you dont know him, you know he wont be easy. And when you finaly see him in your Duel, you really wish you had taken another path. A path that wont end with this battle. Literaly reminds me of Vaas from far Cry 3. Cool character, appeared sometimes, and in the end you didnt wanted to kill him... the only difference between Vaas and the Knight is... they arent Psychos

It was you who brought the Woodwind tribes to attack the brass empire, shattering the eons long peace. It was you who slew the keepers of rhythm, plunging the realms into an era of silence. It was you who betrayed your brothers of the string throne, destroying them from within. “You stand before me today as a villain, a mere shadow of your former glory. The silence of the woods now broken by the tune of his corrupted violin, forever condemned to play, until his fingers bleed and he cannot remember anything but the sweet calling of untuned strings.
Introducing the 4 nations of the orchestra world. The Brass empire: Heavy industrialised nation, famous for their metal work thanks for their many active volcanoes. Characteristics are their protective armour that seems to be almost impossible to penetrate. The Brass empire has a history of having tyrannical leaders. The Percussion Clans: A numbers of clans that formed a pact long ago. The clans can be similar in culture and appearance like the Snare or Timp clan. But there's also the Triangle or Piano clan. All with different characteristics and culture. The Woodwind kingdom: A kingdom with a diverse people with a strong spirit. The Woodwind kingdom are famous for their grass plains but most of all their sense of honour with the sword. Having conducted one of many sword styles from the piccolo to the saxophone. Some have been told to be legendary that only a handful could master. The String Dynasty: The nation called "nation with views of tears" with beautiful golden leaf trees and breathtaking mountains. The String Dynasty are also famous for their bowmanship and their dance-like sword style. (Sorry for my horrible English.)
I imagine there is discrimination between the bass and treble clefs, and some distain for instruments with heritage from 2+ nations, saxophones being the bastard children of woodwind and brass, and so on.
I suddenly imagined the choir as this nomadic tribe that travels between the nations: sharing stories to those that care to listen as they go wherever the wind takes them.
Percussionist here. One thing we all have in common is beating opponents with clubs (mallets). Triangle Clan is pretty close to all of us, but the Piano Clan... they're weird.

It has been quite some time since this piece was released. While it seems most people have moved on, I can not help but return to this from time to time. Who shall remember the legacy of the tuba kingdom?
Lol, I have this in my playlist. This theme and the person who this theme belongs to deserve to rest in one of my favorite songs. I like it to keep it for the mind.
Surely times where better when this came out too. We have to appreciate it all till we can no more. And now, happy listening. Am I kinda lucky I rediscoverd this in my recommendations, feels better to look back at this time, also for myself.

Seems like the kind of fight where the player makes it hard on purpose. Like: online, you learn that he is easy to cheese with magic. But the reason it took players so long to figure this out was because of one thing: a request. Before you fight him, he asks you to, on your honor, fight him on even footing. 1 on 1. No tricks, only brass on brass. And so it begins. A fight where he is amazingly good at dodging and blocking attacks, delivering his own in a rhythm that can only be described as flowing with the bgm. And what makes this satisfying is that he dose NOT in fact have a giant health bar. He is still a normal man. He just knows how to handle himself better. Its why you can cheese him with magic. His small healthbar will drop fast if you hit him with a wave of unavoidable magic. But you're better than that. You come at him, again and again, fighting and losing, learning his patterns and telegraphing his attacks with your own counters. A fight that gets your gamer heart beating. You can so easily win, but you choose the honorable path. The warriors way. If you win this fight without casting a single spell (Including healing and support), you earn an achievement, and one that few can brag about on their steam achievements. "By honor we fight. By Brass we fall." 8% of players have this achievement.
I'd like to think, in the theme of orchestra, that you would have different companions from the other kingdoms, which are, like you said, not strictly blocked from interacting with the fight.
I like to believe that the tuba knight will have some special dialog if you do use magic, like something like "Oh? Even after all the warriors you've killed my brothers, you've killed, to get to the king, you can't fulfill my request for an honorable fight? So be it, I dislike the king as well but you are more pathetic than he." And when you do kill him with magic you'll get an achievement called "One simple request..." and the picture for the achievement would be The Tuba knight putting up his shield to block a magic attack like the Glintstone Pebble from Elden Ring.
@@JimboCantSleep No achievement for killing him with magic, as that'll only motivate more people to do it. Maybe a piece of armour or weapon that you wouldn't get otherwise, but with some flavour text that shows how disappointed he is in you.
"Maestro...!" _A baritone voice chokes out at you, heavy footsteps speeding their way to you from behind. You turn, and see that it is the Tuba Knight, standing six or seven paces from you. Standing beside him are the Tuba Wizard, the Cello Berserker and the former Woodwind priestess, Claire Ynette. You've never seen the man's face, and now is no exception, yet you can almost feel him swallow before he finally speaks._ "...what are you doing? What happened to the brave Maestro who showed me mercy all those moons ago? You told us we would defeat King Tuba the Second, you gave me your word we would restore peace to the kingdoms, so we could all play in harmony together once again... Were those lies, Maestro...?" _He takes half a step forward, stopping himself mid-stride as if to regather his nerve. It occurs to you that these are only partly rhetorical questions- he has clearly already resolved himself to see this through, though... some part of him doesn't want to do this. The Tuba Knight shakes his head slightly and grips the handle of his sword, his shield raising towards you slowly, but surely._ "No. It doesn't matter, not anymore. You are not the Maestro I swore my blade to, that much is obvious. We know what you did to the High Priest, I jus- ...no, I couldn't believe it. But I cannot deny the truth any longer, Maestro. You may stand against our traitor king, but you are no better than he." _His fingers tighten around his blade, which is now pointing towards your chest. Those in his company follow his lead, weapons in hand and steel in their hearts, ready to throw their lot in with the knight they stood with. The Tuba Knight's last few words sounded solemn, even slightly remorseful, but there was no mistaking the conviction in his voice. Now though, he spoke with the burning pride and unbending honor of a true knight, with a voice as brilliant as polished brass._ "Take the throne if you want. Sound the Seven Trumpets, if that is what you wish. But know that you won't be doing any of that while I am still alive, Maestro. Come! We will decide this here and now!" _Tuba Knight has left the party._ _Tuba Wizard has left the party._ _Cello Berserker has left the party._ _Claire Ynette has left the party._ *"It's time to face the music, Maestro."*

I don't think the tuba knight would raise the traveler, I believe the traveler would come across the Brass Empire during a war between the Orchestra factions. And the tuba knight would be some sort of equal to the traveler.
His never-ending fight was coming to a finish. Years of Service to the Tuba King has led him down a dark road, a road no God fearing man should travel. But finally, he could see the end of that road. At the tip of a sword and shield he saw his final moments. His son's corpse now cold, he has stood his ground long enough to guard his soul on its journey to Tuballa. It was time to lay his weapons down and accept his death like the honorable knight he was. BUT WHATS THIS?! Through the thicket came the Tuba Kings armies! Thousands of his fellow knights swarmed him to protect him from the cruel fate he would have suffered alone. Taking his son's body into his arms he retreats as his brothers guard his flank! Upon the hill where him and his son used to enjoy the view of the kingdom as the sun rose, he brought down the final strike of his only child's grave. He looked to the sunrise one last time before breathing heavily. "This fight isn't over yet!" He exclaimed as he grabbed his sword and ran back to the front lines!
Just from the theme alone people have made lore like this, it is awesome. The Tuba Knight seems like he would be the most morally dubious fight to have. You wouldn't want to kill him, he would be one you would want to try to have join you on your quest to overthrow the Tuba King. But his loyalty to the king and his home would keep him from even considering that offer. Until the king, through ignorance or malice, causes tragedy to strike at his home and then force him into an unwinnable fight. Then would the Tuba Knight finally be able to join you, to restore his home and bring light to is people again. Or he would be the most tragic of bosses to fight as you watch his world crumble around him. A pillar of strength and honesty, falling into the foundations of sand which the Tuba King put him on. His future robbed, his family shattered and broken, his king having betrayed him, and all but a few his fellow knights and soldiers having abandoned him. Still he would stand tall, still he would try to uphold his ideals and his principles, even as he is swallowed in the sands of betrayal and lies. Even after he is gone his name would be a rallying cry for all who oppose the king, for all would know who had caused the fall of the Tuba Knight and it would not be forgotten.
Though he may not be the strongest, fastest, or the most intelligent, Tuba Knight has always been the one of his siblings had have the most heart and pride for his country. His strong morals of kindness and generosity are something that pierced even the void of rust as it tried to consume your very form. He is the one that brought hope to the player when things seemed bleak, and even in the endgame when it seems that you stand alone, he has amassed an entire army composed of all of your allies and the soldiers of their countries. He may not be king, but you know he never wanted to be. You know that even past his boisterous nature and pride stands a man of humility and strength. He is but a single man, but he has managed to find a way to unite the orchestral continents to fight for a worthy cause, with him leading the charge in valiant heroism. He is no king. He is no God. He is but the Tuba Knight. He is THE Tuba Knight.
Indeed my fellow spectator, as we see these world collide we achieve possibilities and timelines never thought possible. Though we might not be able to interact with them like first thought, watching these people grow seeing kingdoms clash, SEEING PEOPLE BECOME GODS, WE SHALL WATCH TILL THE VERY END.......... till the Very End
He does not have pride in his king, he has pride in his kingdom, he does not protect the king, he protects his kingdom, I believe that when you defeat the tuba knight, he drops his armor and offers you his sword and shield and asks for you to wear it to defeat the Tuba Empires corrupt king. And if you do fulfill his wish the cutscene where you'd do the killing blow to the king, the tuba knight's spirit materializes from the armor with a red hue to his spirit, and he does the killing blow instead. when he does he let's out a loud barbaric roar that almost sounds like a beast, and his spirit loses its red hue and it turns into a beautiful, golden color.
Here lies before you, a knight. A knight who was betrayed, a knight who mourns, a knight regretful, a man, a troubled man, once a father, once a husband, a hero to his people, a villain to the rest of the world, once a legend, now corrupted, lost, wayward, suffering, this person has nothing anymore to lose. He's hit the bottom, and cannot rise once more. He challenges you to a duel, he wants death, but not without going down in honorable and traditional combat. He knows what is next... You brace yourself of what's to come. you hold back on him. you see a man, not a warrior, not a legend, not a knight, but a man. Torn apart, worn down, neglected. you see that he cares not of what happens to him... You plunge your weapon onto his chest, effectively taking out his melody. He lies down, bleeding. You hold him as he tells you "Tell me, have I died a hero, or lived long enough to see myself become the villain?" .... "I do not know" you tell him "but whatever you may be, I hope that wherever you go, may you be forgiven. May the grand composer be with you" . And with that, he now lies cold, lifeless. You close his eyes, put his blade onto his chest, and place his hands onto his blade. You say the words of honor, and proceed into the throne room... you promised him to end this madness once and for all, and by the composer you will...
The music is gorgeous. It really sells the mood tenfold. If you watch closely, whenever you're on low health, tuba Knight might hesitate or miss on purpose if you've completed his personal questline. He never wanted to fight you.
I see a lot of people going the tragic antagonist route in the comments, and most of them pretty damn good, but honestly, I like to think that Tuba Knight was, and is, your most steadfast companion. He's been with you since the beginning and always intended to be there with you at the end, but your fight with the King cannot be interrupted, and there are dozens of the RustKnights on their way. Go through the doorway, player, have your Final Showdown. Not a single RustKnight will make it through.
I imagine that you actually play as Tuba Knight in this section and this is your boss theme. The enemies are infinite so you're doomed to fail but you get a badass last stand for your oldest friend
You may have striked me down once, but I’m still standing, weak yet strong. Wounded yet untouchable. You haven’t won yet woodwind! Now prepare yourself!
After a heated debate that escalated from the disagreement between the Strings Nation and the Brass Nation in the World of Instruments, nearing the ending of the campaign for peace of our hero, the Trumpet Boy, there stood a Knight so valiant and strong in his beliefs, a Knight that swore to protect his King and his Majesty's rule over the World of Instruments. Countless arguments were thrown left and right as Trumpet Boy were a mere spectator, but then something happened.. something so evil that can't even be thought of being brought to happen by a Knight. The one and only Tuba Knight rose from his chair and unholstered his sword, proceeding to slice the strings of every String Instrument in the Strings Nation, and then proceeding to stand above their corpses, shouting out loud: "The String Nation will pay for their crimes against the Brass Nation with their STRINGS!!!" and thus began the battle, a battle so intense that Trumpet Boy could not withstand such carnage without doing anything, he couldn't simply watch. After gathering his courage he proceeded to draws his own sword and stand in front of Tuba Knight, which then the Knight said "Get out of my way, boy." to which our Hero replied "Not until you stop this unnecessary genocide of the Strings Nation!". After noticing the Boy's traitorous acts against the Brass Nation's Royal Knights, the Tuba Knight raised his sword and attempted to strike down on Trumpet Boy, only to be stopped by the Violin Legionaire who was ready to give his own life for an Instrument of a different Nation, showing that there can in fact be peace. "Enough with this bloodshed, Tuba Knight. Enough blood has been drawn from each side! I'm sure we can all live in peace respecting each other's boundaries." the Legionaire said towards the Tuba Knight, to which he responded "The Strings Nation acted out of their leash for long enough! Your life comes to an end NOW! We got every instrument necessary to perform both the melody and the supporting lows! After we merge with the Percussion Nation you won't be needed anymore!". The Violin Legionaire looked at Trumpet Boy and then back at the Tuba Knight before saying "Then there is no choice to be made." as he then unsheated his bow-sword, a refined method of playing an instrument. His stance so sharp and precise yet with each movement he wavered around as smooth as butter. A legendary battle was about to happen. After a long exchange of blows, trading hits with each other, the Tuba Knight finally fell to his knee, disarmed and breathless, tired of this long engagement. The battle was at it's end, only a few standing tall in their position in clash with each other for such a pointless crusade. The Violin Legionaire, noble in his every act, said to the Tuba Knight "Your acts of terror end here, Royal Brass Knight. The King Tuba the second shall rule over us no more!" as he then raised his bow-sword, bringing it down as it striked Tuba Knight to his death. Everyone looked in shock as they saw the undefeated Knight.. being defeated. The battle ended with the Brass Nation surrendering and King Tuba the second body's being revealed to the public eye, impaled in battle by a long and sturdy bow-sword. It was the end of his tyrannical rule. The Strings Nation had won. note: idk i just fleshed this out in 5 mins sorry if it sucks
This is probably the boss that made me question if I was really the hero the most out of any game. He has such strong morals and genuinely wants to reform the kingdom, but your paths must clash as you eliminated his brothers (who tbf propped up the king, but he didn't know that) and you try to force change through violence, while he wins over the hearts of the people and wishes to replace the monarchy and end their imperialism while bringing the least amount of harm to the people as possible. What I especially like is that the gameplay reinforces the fact that he's genuine, he's a simple sword and shield fighter with zero tricks up his sleeve while his brothers were constantly fucking you over throughout their stages and had gimmicks galore in their fights (the wizard's teleporting, clones, and firewalls/the gunners nearly impenetrable armor and extreme range).
Tuba knight completely won my heart. He’s a kind, loving, and respectable man, which made killing him so hard. In chapter 1 to twelve, we got to see his struggles, his mourning for the tuba brothers he loved, and finally, his fight for honor. He’s an extremely well written and sympathetic character, which is why he’s such a fan favorite. When I killed him, I was distraught. I’d seen the best and worst sides of him, we as the protagonist had been at his very side until we figured out the dark side of the kingdom, and the tyrant king. It took me weeks to complete the flute spirit quest so he could live, but it was the best decision I made.
These type of memes is what makes me look forward, what motivates me, to know people can look at something that looks dumb or random and turning it into something beautiful and creative, to see how this happening brings me joy for sure and I hope others share these thoughts
The First brass knight. Fear him for he may be old but he has something you will never have in a duel. Neverending will and strength to sacrifice his body for the tyrant king.

storyline for reprise ending: - * after clearing king tuba II and seeing ending cutscene and you get to look around the world one last time before its fall * - * player spots knight sitting in the ruins of the castle and cutscene starts* ( 0:01 ) knight: "... so, I see you've done what you said you will do. " player: "you can walk away from this ruins, and you go tell your tales, live a happy life, and grow old." - *sky is growing a bloodish red, as the sun is beginning to rise and knight looks up* knight: "as I've said before, we are.. not so different. you know what Il say. " - *knight picks up a ripped banner on the floor and wraps his arm with the fabric* - *silence only filled with ambient sound of the wind* player: "do you truly desire to fight? is it not a mere hope of what could have been that you are desperately holding on to, to not lose yourself to the guilt of what you have done? " knight: "this is what I must do, as you have done what you were deemed to do." ( 1:14 ) - *the floors once covered in golden lights is now peeled and eroded to reveal a slightly rusted steel covered in dust and rubble* knight: "we met on the road. you were walking towards a near city, and you dueled me with your beliefs, and you swore to do what must be done. and you did it. that is all that matters. Near the end, you face an enemy who's nye impossible to defeat, and your chances of surviving like zero. Then you'll hear this song and you know an old friend is here to give you a hand.
The war was coming to it's final moments, a climax to the battle that had occurred for over a decade. All that could be heard along the desolate battlefield was the caws of crows and the quiet ushers of the wind, as it made it's way over the countless bodies of tuba-infantry. Many lives of both human-kind and tuba-kind had been lost all for this moment, a final refute between the last forces of each side. | (0:22) It finally dawned on you as you pushed yourself up, to stand atop the corpses of those you considered your foes. There was no winner in war, no right nor wrong. Each force was the 'good side' in their own eyes. Each warrior had a reason to fight. Surely there was a better way to resolve this battle, than the bloodshed of many more. | (0:37) The faint clanging of brass armor was heard from beneath you. Suddenly, the Tuba-Knight you had cut down just before rustled by your feet. Deep in the Sanctum Of Brass, the two would meet, no blades having been drawn, the aged face of the Knight still noble and proud, his deep grey eyes hiding a deep remorse, his hel at his hip, The Maestro would squeak “Knight, what are you doing here? You said you left with the rebels?” The face of the Knight would remain calm, his lips parting “I have come to stop you, this massacre ends here.” A slight waver is apparent in his voice, The Maestro looking shocked, stepping back a foot “I stopped the Rust...” A look of sorrow and pain would be etched on the warriors face. The Knight would let out a sigh “That May be so...but have killed hundreds...all of them, my family...the people I loved and swore to protect...” the slightest flash of anger would mark the old knights face, his long white hair flowing softly in the breeze. The camera zooms, revealing the bodies of hundreds of Knights, clad in the armor of the knight, their blades interlocked with the broken blades of the rebels and strings, the stalemate still sealed even in death, the marble running deep with the blood of the two factions. The maestro would nod, neither reaching for their weapons “They would have died either way...we gave them peace...” The Knight would nod “True it may be...They’re fates may have been sealed...but they are my people...my people forevermore.” The perfect Brass of his armor shone harshly as the sun came through the skylight, washing the man in golden rays, his white cloak, a symbol of honor now stained with crimson with the blood of his fallen people. The Maestro would frown “Let me by knight...I do not want to you suffer as they did...the king must die.” The Knight would nod, the anger washing from his aged features, his posture tightening as he stands taller “I am the last knight of The Sanctified Brass, sworn to duty by my king and vanguard of his people, I have failed to protect them...I will not fail again.” The Maestro would nod “I am sorry Knight, I did not wish this...” it would be true, The ancient knight would nod “As am I.” He would take a breath as he lifted his ornate brass helmet, placing it on his head, His gauntleted hand placed on the hilt of his sword, the iridescent rays of the sun gleaming. It's no secret we've already mastered all of his moves and were familiar with all of his attacks because we've trained and fought by his side for some time but what amazesme is that T.K. still finds ways to bypass our defense & surpass our attacks. When he went from casually blocking my attacks to barrage of endless blows it actually surprised me to the point where I almost lost but I, just like everyone else, persevered. Such a great boss battle.

Tears begin to fall. " you have had a long journey let us fight". 1:52 He charges you with sword and shield in hand. The swords clash and this is a battle of honor. Your gang of rebels are busy fighting his best trained soldiers. His moves are impeccable. Almost as perfect as the lord himself. 3:15 He gains an amazing feat of strength and slashes meanacingly. 3:31 Your last hope is a war cry. You suprise him and knock him upon his rear. He recovers quickly and the fight resumes. You and him fighting, not because you hate eachother, rather for the defense of what you have been taught was the truth. Unfortunately tuba knight grows weary, as do all warriors. His sword defense slips and you knock him down. "You and I, we're not so different. We fight for what we belive in. It is too late for me brother. I have served the evil king too long in the hope of saving my family. I now realize that I did not defend them, yet prolonged their suffering in mortality. If thou wouldst spare me the tuba king would surely take my head first. I would much rather fight an honorary fight with thee. Thou hast proven thine self worth. Now go, if my family is still held by the tuba king, free them, and always remeber me and keep me upon thine record of heros." You slowly raise the sword as he smiles, and says "take this". You take his sword. Perfectly balanced, just as he was in combat. You plunge his sword into him. His eyes close and he leaves a smile upon his face.
The tuba knight is the righteous and proud warrior of the tuba section, under different circumstances you would be friends, but he is unwilling to betray his people, no matter how corrupt, so now you cross paths, the hero who will bring salvation against the most righteous knight of the tubas.
"Must we do this?" You say in a sarcastic annoyed tone. "Of course Maestro, you must learn the basics of the brass instruments attacks if you wish to bring balance to the orchestra." You seem to be recalling your journey with Tuba knight, From early game, he's been by your side, in the hopes of helping his people see the wicked ways of the tuba king. you recall the up, the downs, the wins and the losses. Suddenly, you are snapped back to the present. Your friend and companion, who stands before you, in a physical sense he's there, but his mind has been corrupted by the rust plague. You find yourself calling out to him, with that first line you'd ever spoke to him. "MUST WE DO THIS?!" Your voice filled with anguish sorrow, and hope. you hope that there is still some way you can help him see the restoration of the brass empire, and by extension the orchestra. With a ragged sigh, and great effort, The old Tuba Knight breaks through to say. "Of course, Maestro." He then sounds his horn, and the battle begins. One last fight, in order to save a friend, and a dream.

I like to imagine the original plays on your first encounter with him, and this version will be at his final/secret encounter if you do all his side quests and learn his full story.

Tell me my friend... *he slowly turns his head to the protagonist* Am i dieying as Hero... or do i lived long enough to become the Villain? Only you can answer that last question of him

I will say this, in this blind playthrough I done with this, I wasn't expecting him to be the battle of which all what I done to save him every single time lead down to this moment. I done what I can to save him , he was geniunely my favorite character in this series. I couldn't kill him, I couldn't let him die to anything when I even got close to fighting him. Sparing him was my only option. Now, when I got to the end and towards my way to fighting towards the Tuba King. I didn't expect him to be standing there, I thought it be some Some Mid-Endgame boss... but no... It was your best friend/enemy all along. Waiting for you. All what you grinding for, your levels, your stats, your gear, is all the same as yourself. This what made this fight so extraordinary... he believed in you, and you believed in him. But he swore protection to his kingdom no matter the odds, the cost, and his life. The music hit home as it showed your previous battles and you letting him go after each single fight. He became your best friend, your go to ally. Hell he was your only reason you got this far int eh first place after you recruited him. He was your best Brass in Arms. Now he stands there , waiting after you see him rush on ahead on his own. He looks very troubled but still standing resolute in his form. I won't do as much spoilers but... I'll recap the words as it was done. "Friend, why are you not with us? Are we not of the same Section?" "... I wish that were true, but... you know of the Tuba King's plans to polish over the sections of the lands... He won't stop till he completes his final composition of world domination!" "Brother... , I understand you, note for note, but this is all I have left... My Honor, My Pride, and My Oath... But now, now we must fight what we are striving for... To finish what was once playing." You see him turn around slowly, drawing his brass-harden blade and his armor shines against the sunset. The Wind is howling, the fight is becoming hostile every moment. He only draws his blade, as you do to yours. You stand tall with your Brass-sword and gear you have accumulated in the whole playthrough. As he does with you. "I only wish for our fight to be known down in history, my brother." "I do, too, wish for our fight to be remembered..." You both take a stance against each other, both drawn and ready. There is no gimmicks, no one to help you or him. It's just you against your brass in sections. No one shots, nothing but a fair fight against your final comrade. Who is now your only obstacle against the Tuba King's Final Composition. "It was nice knowing you... Tuba Knight..." The wind stops, and the sun is now shining through the windows and cracks of the ongoing destruction of the warring orchestral bands of every section of the lands. The fight is silent... "... and to you as well... My fellow Brass In Arms... May our death be swift and honorable...!" You charge head on, and start the fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------- The fight was long, and as over heard from my chat, no fight is the same. All is random and stats are always the same as you. The only difference is that he has Incredible Defense and HP. Making him a battle worth fighting for in this true ending playthrough. Every turn felt like a memory being remembered... each and every single hit, only made me want to go on. He made every hit count on your health. Same HP recoveries, same items. He played the same as you... You shaped him as he shaped with you. This fight truly showed how far you knew this game down to a single bar. I cried silently in this fight. I didn't want to fight and kill my only friend in this playthrough. But you must, in order to save the Sections of this Orchestral Lands. And once it was over... I couldn't handle it. I lost my sense of emotions, I had to cry, and I had to smile... It was over. He collapsed to his knees after the final blow. He knew his time was coming. His final notes are coming. You readied your sword to deliver the final moment... But you didn't... you gave him your final Brass Polish. You made him shine more then ever, it was like looking in a mirror in his Armor. He stands in disbelief... and shouts. "Why didn't you finish this fight?! I was ready to finally see my brothers again... Do you only wish me to suffer after this is over?" You only nod your head to him, shaking to show him your true mercy. He laughs and wholeheartedly raises his arms in the air, as he takes his gear and you stand next each other once more... but this time... You're both ready... "... I must thank you..." "For what...?" He turns to you and salutes you, and kneels down to you with his brass sections lost crest in his arms. "Showing me what it's like to live in the melody of others... and being one with the notes of my life's song..." He stands up and follows suit with you. You finally walk to the final orchestral chamber of sections. The true final battle begins...

Okay, since a lot of people asked for it, I'll explain how to beat Tuba Knight as a Bass Drum player. This is NOT an easy fight, but it is a very rewarding one if you do it correctly and it will really boost you up for the rest of the game. Let's get this started. As some of you may know, Tuba Knight will drop different items depending on how you kill him, and the hardest to get and more powerful is the Bass Drum Mallet, which will make a Bass Drum character incredibly tanky and bursty, with excellent bonuses as support. To do this, you have to kill him using his own magic attack, which is Wholesome Note, that he rarely uses when he's low health. First, go with Bongos. Yes, Clarinet, Oboe or Lyre are good healers, but Bongos' Twin Salsa ability's shield will nullify the burst damage from Tuba Knight's Low Flare while you wait for his Wholesome Note to trigger, which is EXTREMELY important. Low Flare can easily wipe you if you don't time it correctly, so be careful. Also, the sustain bonus from the Percussion Clans combo will help a lot in this fight. Secondly, and most importantly, you will need a reflector item or setup, I believe the easiest is to get a Basic Reflective Sheet from any store. Get a few just in case. The objective is to get Tuba Knight to as low HP as possible, then use the item to reflect Wholesome Note as soon as he casts it, and voila, you have a Bass Drum Mallet and one of the most powerful characters in the game now. As a piece of advice, practice your parrying. Bass Drum doesn't have much on the dodging field before getting the mallet, and neither in the damage deppartment. This is a slow and grindy fight. But it is a fun and very rewarding one. Good luck!
This version is played during his 2 most important and impactful cutscenes in the game, and without giving spoilers, I think everyone who played this game will agree the second time was somehow even more impactful than the first time. All the emotions that build up and get released in this battle really make for a wonderful climax to this character’s arc.
this is the only boss battle where I didn't feel I was fighting a boss. After I got all the items, weapons and passives of the previous bosses I had so many buffs and abilities man. Like, I didn't know what to do with them. And this guy comes with nothing special or fancy, no pillar jumping, chase scenes, ranged attacks or invincibility frames. He actually felt like the underdog in this fight and I felt so strong. Wait... Was I his boss battle all along and he is the one meant to defeat me?
"You. You are the one that keeps doing this, ... I cannot let you continue, for you will kill everyone, All that I love, all that I swore to destroy, all that I swore to protect, and my king. I'm amazed! Love how the track builds and the energy that takes over at about 2 minutes. And I really like how you used the string FX to add an interesting variance to the track. Really fantastic work!
All the kingdom respect Tuba Knight. Despite everything. He only ever held the line. Never advancing on his own. His oath was the defend the brass nation. So when they won territory he moved forward. No kingdom could get past him. He would always spare anyone who made it to him and arrange for them to get back home safely. King Tuba ii used his honour as a way to break the morale of the other nations. That was until the Maestro aka the battle conductor appeared. That's why as the final battle happens the strings are paying tribute.
In a valiant final attempt to stop you, the player, from ending the entire Brass race, Tuba Knight stands in your way, with bloodlust in his eyes, you don't win this battle, you've already slayed his brothers, his friends, his family, he ISN'T going to lose to some dirty race killer. Once you land a hit on him, he starts to die, but suddenly, there's even more of a glow in his eyes, and he comes back, ready to rip you to shreds. *"In this world, it's protect or be protected, so what are you trying to protect?"* he says.
The Last Ride of the Tuba Knights was honestly the best cutscene in the entire game. Don't @ me, I don't care how good and emotional the meeting between the Tuba Wizard and the Cello Champion was, It doesn't have the emotional impact of being the last dying breath of an ancient tradition brought to naught by the corrupting powers of the Tuba King.
These epic Tuba themes and mixes just popped outta nowhere in my recommendation feed. And I couldn't help but love every single one of these despite not knowing much about the complexity of musical instruments. For me, it's still quite unbelievable that it all started as something for shit and giggles, now evolved into stories and video game ideas that are beautifully written and are very well-thought. Even a specialized community was born. Indeed, creativity knows no bounds.

You know what amazes me the most?
How, in just a few weeks, people not only have been creating these themes, but actually crafting stories and entire plotlines to these characters. Yeah, some are goofy and funny, but I've seen a lot of comments at those videos where there are stories which are legitimaly engaging and deep. Stories where I'd love experiencing them, specially in some sort of game.
And of all these stories and characters, the one that most moves me is certainly that of The Tuba Knight. His theme sounds heroic and heartbreaking at the same time. As it seems to me, it's almost a consensus that people see The Tuba Knight as a genuinely heroic character, someone who believes in honor and valour, and at the same time, a tragic character forced to fight battles against his will - against his ideals. This version of his theme captures that "honorable and valiant broken warrior" feeling really well.
I just find amazing how all of this started. Memes and jokes gave birth to something as amazing as this video.

The Tuba Knight seems like a character that would be super likeable and awesome, making it all the more difficult when you have to slay him later. :(
Nathaniel Acevedo if you complete the "brass blade of redemption" side quest line before his fight he will later assist you in the fight against the tuba king but be warned this will alter the boss battle giving tuba knight another phase to beat
If you do a secret quest, you can change that. You have to kill the wind spirit (flutes) with him to get the good ending.
Hes the side Villain that appears sometimes. He speaks like someone with Honnor, an old Hero. Even when you dont know him, you know he wont be easy.
And when you finaly see him in your Duel, you really wish you had taken another path. A path that wont end with this battle.
Literaly reminds me of Vaas from far Cry 3. Cool character, appeared sometimes, and in the end you didnt wanted to kill him... the only difference between Vaas and the Knight is... they arent Psychos

Introducing the 4 nations of the orchestra world.
The Brass empire:
Heavy industrialised nation, famous for their metal work thanks for their many active volcanoes. Characteristics are their protective armour that seems to be almost impossible to penetrate. The Brass empire has a history of having tyrannical leaders.
The Percussion Clans:
A numbers of clans that formed a pact long ago. The clans can be similar in culture and appearance like the Snare or Timp clan. But there's also the Triangle or Piano clan. All with different characteristics and culture.
The Woodwind kingdom:
A kingdom with a diverse people with a strong spirit. The Woodwind kingdom are famous for their grass plains but most of all their sense of honour with the sword. Having conducted one of many sword styles from the piccolo to the saxophone. Some have been told to be legendary that only a handful could master.
The String Dynasty:
The nation called "nation with views of tears" with beautiful golden leaf trees and breathtaking mountains. The String Dynasty are also famous for their bowmanship and their dance-like sword style.

I imagine there is discrimination between the bass and treble clefs, and some distain for instruments with heritage from 2+ nations, saxophones being the bastard children of woodwind and brass, and so on.
I suddenly imagined the choir as this nomadic tribe that travels between the nations: sharing stories to those that care to listen as they go wherever the wind takes them.
Percussionist here. One thing we all have in common is beating opponents with clubs (mallets). Triangle Clan is pretty close to all of us, but the Piano Clan... they're weird.

Seems like the kind of fight where the player makes it hard on purpose.
Like: online, you learn that he is easy to cheese with magic. But the reason it took players so long to figure this out was because of one thing: a request. Before you fight him, he asks you to, on your honor, fight him on even footing. 1 on 1. No tricks, only brass on brass.
And so it begins.
A fight where he is amazingly good at dodging and blocking attacks, delivering his own in a rhythm that can only be described as flowing with the bgm. And what makes this satisfying is that he dose NOT in fact have a giant health bar. He is still a normal man. He just knows how to handle himself better. Its why you can cheese him with magic. His small healthbar will drop fast if you hit him with a wave of unavoidable magic.
But you're better than that.
You come at him, again and again, fighting and losing, learning his patterns and telegraphing his attacks with your own counters.
A fight that gets your gamer heart beating.
You can so easily win, but you choose the honorable path. The warriors way.
If you win this fight without casting a single spell (Including healing and support), you earn an achievement, and one that few can brag about on their steam achievements.
"By honor we fight. By Brass we fall."
8% of players have this achievement.
I'd like to think, in the theme of orchestra, that you would have different companions from the other kingdoms, which are, like you said, not strictly blocked from interacting with the fight.
I like to believe that the tuba knight will have some special dialog if you do use magic, like something like "Oh? Even after all the warriors you've killed my brothers, you've killed, to get to the king, you can't fulfill my request for an honorable fight? So be it, I dislike the king as well but you are more pathetic than he."
And when you do kill him with magic you'll get an achievement called "One simple request..." and the picture for the achievement would be The Tuba knight putting up his shield to block a magic attack like the Glintstone Pebble from Elden Ring.

What happened to the brave Maestro who showed me mercy all those moons ago? You told us we would defeat King Tuba the Second, you gave me your word we would restore peace to the kingdoms, so we could all play in harmony together once again... Were those lies, Maestro...?" _He takes half a step forward, stopping himself mid-stride as if to regather his nerve. It occurs to you that these are only partly rhetorical questions- he has clearly already resolved himself to see this through, though... some part of him doesn't want to do this. The Tuba Knight shakes his head slightly and grips the handle of his sword, his shield raising towards you slowly, but surely._
"No. It doesn't matter, not anymore. You are not the Maestro I swore my blade to, that much is obvious. We know what you did to the High Priest, I jus- ...no, I couldn't believe it. But I cannot deny the truth any longer, Maestro. You may stand against our traitor king, but you are no better than he." _His fingers tighten around his blade, which is now pointing towards your chest. Those in his company follow his lead, weapons in hand and steel in their hearts, ready to throw their lot in with the knight they stood with. The Tuba Knight's last few words sounded solemn, even slightly remorseful, but there was no mistaking the conviction in his voice. Now though, he spoke with the burning pride and unbending honor of a true knight, with a voice as brilliant as polished brass._ "Take the throne if you want. Sound the Seven Trumpets, if that is what you wish. But know that you won't be doing any of that while I am still alive, Maestro. Come! We will decide this here and now!"

I don't think the tuba knight would raise the traveler, I believe the traveler would come across the Brass Empire during a war between the Orchestra factions. And the tuba knight would be some sort of equal to the traveler.
His never-ending fight was coming to a finish. Years of Service to the Tuba King has led him down a dark road, a road no God fearing man should travel. But finally, he could see the end of that road. At the tip of a sword and shield he saw his final moments. His son's corpse now cold, he has stood his ground long enough to guard his soul on its journey to Tuballa. It was time to lay his weapons down and accept his death like the honorable knight he was.
BUT WHATS THIS?!
Through the thicket came the Tuba Kings armies! Thousands of his fellow knights swarmed him to protect him from the cruel fate he would have suffered alone. Taking his son's body into his arms he retreats as his brothers guard his flank! Upon the hill where him and his son used to enjoy the view of the kingdom as the sun rose, he brought down the final strike of his only child's grave. He looked to the sunrise one last time before breathing heavily. "This fight isn't over yet!" He exclaimed as he grabbed his sword and ran back to the front lines!
Oh man, i loved that cinematic moment in the game

Just from the theme alone people have made lore like this, it is awesome. The Tuba Knight seems like he would be the most morally dubious fight to have. You wouldn't want to kill him, he would be one you would want to try to have join you on your quest to overthrow the Tuba King. But his loyalty to the king and his home would keep him from even considering that offer. Until the king, through ignorance or malice, causes tragedy to strike at his home and then force him into an unwinnable fight. Then would the Tuba Knight finally be able to join you, to restore his home and bring light to is people again.
Or he would be the most tragic of bosses to fight as you watch his world crumble around him. A pillar of strength and honesty, falling into the foundations of sand which the Tuba King put him on. His future robbed, his family shattered and broken, his king having betrayed him, and all but a few his fellow knights and soldiers having abandoned him. Still he would stand tall, still he would try to uphold his ideals and his principles, even as he is swallowed in the sands of betrayal and lies. Even after he is gone his name would be a rallying cry for all who oppose the king, for all would know who had caused the fall of the Tuba Knight and it would not be forgotten.
Though he may not be the strongest, fastest, or the most intelligent, Tuba Knight has always been the one of his siblings had have the most heart and pride for his country.
His strong morals of kindness and generosity are something that pierced even the void of rust as it tried to consume your very form. He is the one that brought hope to the player when things seemed bleak, and even in the endgame when it seems that you stand alone, he has amassed an entire army composed of all of your allies and the soldiers of their countries.
He may not be king, but you know he never wanted to be. You know that even past his boisterous nature and pride stands a man of humility and strength.
He is but a single man, but he has managed to find a way to unite the orchestral continents to fight for a worthy cause, with him leading the charge in valiant heroism.
He is no king.
He is no God.
He is but the Tuba Knight.
He is THE Tuba Knight.
Indeed my fellow spectator, as we see these world collide we achieve possibilities and timelines never thought possible. Though we might not be able to interact with them like first thought, watching these people grow seeing kingdoms clash, SEEING PEOPLE BECOME GODS, WE SHALL WATCH TILL THE VERY END.......... till the Very End

He does not have pride in his king, he has pride in his kingdom, he does not protect the king, he protects his kingdom, I believe that when you defeat the tuba knight, he drops his armor and offers you his sword and shield and asks for you to wear it to defeat the Tuba Empires corrupt king. And if you do fulfill his wish the cutscene where you'd do the killing blow to the king, the tuba knight's spirit materializes from the armor with a red hue to his spirit, and he does the killing blow instead. when he does he let's out a loud barbaric roar that almost sounds like a beast, and his spirit loses its red hue and it turns into a beautiful, golden color.

The music is gorgeous. It really sells the mood tenfold. If you watch closely, whenever you're on low health, tuba Knight might hesitate or miss on purpose if you've completed his personal questline. He never wanted to fight you.
I see a lot of people going the tragic antagonist route in the comments, and most of them pretty damn good, but honestly, I like to think that Tuba Knight was, and is, your most steadfast companion. He's been with you since the beginning and always intended to be there with you at the end, but your fight with the King cannot be interrupted, and there are dozens of the RustKnights on their way. Go through the doorway, player, have your Final Showdown. Not a single RustKnight will make it through.

After a heated debate that escalated from the disagreement between the Strings Nation and the Brass Nation in the World of Instruments, nearing the ending of the campaign for peace of our hero, the Trumpet Boy, there stood a Knight so valiant and strong in his beliefs, a Knight that swore to protect his King and his Majesty's rule over the World of Instruments. Countless arguments were thrown left and right as Trumpet Boy were a mere spectator, but then something happened.. something so evil that can't even be thought of being brought to happen by a Knight. The one and only Tuba Knight rose from his chair and unholstered his sword, proceeding to slice the strings of every String Instrument in the Strings Nation, and then proceeding to stand above their corpses, shouting out loud: "The String Nation will pay for their crimes against the Brass Nation with their STRINGS!!!" and thus began the battle, a battle so intense that Trumpet Boy could not withstand such carnage without doing anything, he couldn't simply watch. After gathering his courage he proceeded to draws his own sword and stand in front of Tuba Knight, which then the Knight said "Get out of my way, boy." to which our Hero replied "Not until you stop this unnecessary genocide of the Strings Nation!". After noticing the Boy's traitorous acts against the Brass Nation's Royal Knights, the Tuba Knight raised his sword and attempted to strike down on Trumpet Boy, only to be stopped by the Violin Legionaire who was ready to give his own life for an Instrument of a different Nation, showing that there can in fact be peace. "Enough with this bloodshed, Tuba Knight. Enough blood has been drawn from each side! I'm sure we can all live in peace respecting each other's boundaries." the Legionaire said towards the Tuba Knight, to which he responded "The Strings Nation acted out of their leash for long enough! Your life comes to an end NOW! We got every instrument necessary to perform both the melody and the supporting lows! After we merge with the Percussion Nation you won't be needed anymore!". The Violin Legionaire looked at Trumpet Boy and then back at the Tuba Knight before saying "Then there is no choice to be made." as he then unsheated his bow-sword, a refined method of playing an instrument. His stance so sharp and precise yet with each movement he wavered around as smooth as butter. A legendary battle was about to happen.
After a long exchange of blows, trading hits with each other, the Tuba Knight finally fell to his knee, disarmed and breathless, tired of this long engagement. The battle was at it's end, only a few standing tall in their position in clash with each other for such a pointless crusade. The Violin Legionaire, noble in his every act, said to the Tuba Knight "Your acts of terror end here, Royal Brass Knight. The King Tuba the second shall rule over us no more!" as he then raised his bow-sword, bringing it down as it striked Tuba Knight to his death. Everyone looked in shock as they saw the undefeated Knight.. being defeated. The battle ended with the Brass Nation surrendering and King Tuba the second body's being revealed to the public eye, impaled in battle by a long and sturdy bow-sword. It was the end of his tyrannical rule. The Strings Nation had won.

This is probably the boss that made me question if I was really the hero the most out of any game. He has such strong morals and genuinely wants to reform the kingdom, but your paths must clash as you eliminated his brothers (who tbf propped up the king, but he didn't know that) and you try to force change through violence, while he wins over the hearts of the people and wishes to replace the monarchy and end their imperialism while bringing the least amount of harm to the people as possible.
What I especially like is that the gameplay reinforces the fact that he's genuine, he's a simple sword and shield fighter with zero tricks up his sleeve while his brothers were constantly fucking you over throughout their stages and had gimmicks galore in their fights (the wizard's teleporting, clones, and firewalls/the gunners nearly impenetrable armor and extreme range).
Tuba knight completely won my heart. He’s a kind, loving, and respectable man, which made killing him so hard. In chapter 1 to twelve, we got to see his struggles, his mourning for the tuba brothers he loved, and finally, his fight for honor. He’s an extremely well written and sympathetic character, which is why he’s such a fan favorite.
When I killed him, I was distraught. I’d seen the best and worst sides of him, we as the protagonist had been at his very side until we figured out the dark side of the kingdom, and the tyrant king. It took me weeks to complete the flute spirit quest so he could live, but it was the best decision I made.
These type of memes is what makes me look forward, what motivates me, to know people can look at something that looks dumb or random and turning it into something beautiful and creative, to see how this happening brings me joy for sure and I hope others share these thoughts
The First brass knight. Fear him for he may be old but he has something you will never have in a duel. Neverending will and strength to sacrifice his body for the tyrant king.

The war was coming to it's final moments, a climax to the battle that had occurred for over a decade. All that could be heard along the desolate battlefield was the caws of crows and the quiet ushers of the wind, as it made it's way over the countless bodies of tuba-infantry. Many lives of both human-kind and tuba-kind had been lost all for this moment, a final refute between the last forces of each side.

Deep in the Sanctum Of Brass, the two would meet, no blades having been drawn, the aged face of the Knight still noble and proud, his deep grey eyes hiding a deep remorse, his hel at his hip, The Maestro would squeak “Knight, what are you doing here? You said you left with the rebels?” The face of the Knight would remain calm, his lips parting “I have come to stop you, this massacre ends here.” A slight waver is apparent in his voice, The Maestro looking shocked, stepping back a foot “I stopped the Rust...” A look of sorrow and pain would be etched on the warriors face.
The Knight would let out a sigh “That May be so...but have killed hundreds...all of them, my family...the people I loved and swore to protect...” the slightest flash of anger would mark the old knights face, his long white hair flowing softly in the breeze.
The camera zooms, revealing the bodies of hundreds of Knights, clad in the armor of the knight, their blades interlocked with the broken blades of the rebels and strings, the stalemate still sealed even in death, the marble running deep with the blood of the two factions.
The maestro would nod, neither reaching for their weapons “They would have died either way...we gave them peace...” The Knight would nod “True it may be...They’re fates may have been sealed...but they are my people...my people forevermore.” The perfect Brass of his armor shone harshly as the sun came through the skylight, washing the man in golden rays, his white cloak, a symbol of honor now stained with crimson with the blood of his fallen people.
The Maestro would frown “Let me by knight...I do not want to you suffer as they did...the king must die.” The Knight would nod, the anger washing from his aged features, his posture tightening as he stands taller “I am the last knight of The Sanctified Brass, sworn to duty by my king and vanguard of his people, I have failed to protect them...I will not fail again.”
The Maestro would nod “I am sorry Knight, I did not wish this...” it would be true, The ancient knight would nod “As am I.” He would take a breath as he lifted his ornate brass helmet, placing it on his head, His gauntleted hand placed on the hilt of his sword, the iridescent rays of the sun gleaming.
The Knight would unsheathe his blade in one swift angelic maneuver, raises in a defensive manor. The Maestro would simply nod as he drew his weapon...

I actually cried during my battle with him. It's no secret we've already mastered all of his moves and were familiar with all of his attacks because we've trained and fought by his side for some time but what amazesme is that T.K. still finds ways to bypass our defense & surpass our attacks.
When he went from casually blocking my attacks to barrage of endless blows it actually surprised me to the point where I almost lost but I, just like everyone else, persevered.
Such a great boss battle.
He truly is the greatest member of the Sound Table.

You slowly raise the sword as he smiles, and says "take this". You take his sword. Perfectly balanced, just as he was in combat. You plunge his sword into him. His eyes close and he leaves a smile upon his face.

The tuba knight is the righteous and proud warrior of the tuba section, under different circumstances you would be friends, but he is unwilling to betray his people, no matter how corrupt, so now you cross paths, the hero who will bring salvation against the most righteous knight of the tubas.
"Must we do this?" You say in a sarcastic annoyed tone. "Of course Maestro, you must learn the basics of the brass instruments attacks if you wish to bring balance to the orchestra." You seem to be recalling your journey with Tuba knight, From early game, he's been by your side, in the hopes of helping his people see the wicked ways of the tuba king. you recall the up, the downs, the wins and the losses. Suddenly, you are snapped back to the present. Your friend and companion, who stands before you, in a physical sense he's there, but his mind has been corrupted by the rust plague. You find yourself calling out to him, with that first line you'd ever spoke to him. "MUST WE DO THIS?!" Your voice filled with anguish sorrow, and hope. you hope that there is still some way you can help him see the restoration of the brass empire, and by extension the orchestra. With a ragged sigh, and great effort, The old Tuba Knight breaks through to say. "Of course, Maestro." He then sounds his horn, and the battle begins. One last fight, in order to save a friend, and a dream.

This unnamed knight defended his kingdom well. Neither dragon not giant could face this brass warrior. He even destroyed the mighty tank crab, only for it to be revived by the tarantula wizard.

I like to imagine the original plays on your first encounter with him, and this version will be at his final/secret encounter if you do all his side quests and learn his full story.
After defeating the final boss,you head metallic sound move behind you.
You turn to around to see him,you were sure he was dead but there he is.

A legendary battle indeed, stories were pass down from generation to generation to remember the great warriors and heroes of the time
The last thing the Knight was thinking about whille he slowly dies was:

Dude this is soooo underted. Such a powerfull composition
I will say this, in this blind playthrough I done with this, I wasn't expecting him to be the battle of which all what I done to save him every single time lead down to this moment. I done what I can to save him , he was geniunely my favorite character in this series.
I couldn't kill him, I couldn't let him die to anything when I even got close to fighting him. Sparing him was my only option.
Now, when I got to the end and towards my way to fighting towards the Tuba King. I didn't expect him to be standing there, I thought it be some Some Mid-Endgame boss... but no... It was your best friend/enemy all along. Waiting for you. All what you grinding for, your levels, your stats, your gear, is all the same as yourself.
This what made this fight so extraordinary... he believed in you, and you believed in him. But he swore protection to his kingdom no matter the odds, the cost, and his life.
The music hit home as it showed your previous battles and you letting him go after each single fight. He became your best friend, your go to ally. Hell he was your only reason you got this far int eh first place after you recruited him. He was your best Brass in Arms.
Now he stands there , waiting after you see him rush on ahead on his own. He looks very troubled but still standing resolute in his form.
I won't do as much spoilers but...
I'll recap the words as it was done.
"Friend, why are you not with us? Are we not of the same Section?"
"... I wish that were true, but... you know of the Tuba King's plans to polish over the sections of the lands... He won't stop till he completes his final composition of world domination!"
"Brother... , I understand you, note for note, but this is all I have left... My Honor, My Pride, and My Oath... But now, now we must fight what we are striving for... To finish what was once playing."
You see him turn around slowly, drawing his brass-harden blade and his armor shines against the sunset. The Wind is howling, the fight is becoming hostile every moment.
He only draws his blade, as you do to yours. You stand tall with your Brass-sword and gear you have accumulated in the whole playthrough. As he does with you.
"I only wish for our fight to be known down in history, my brother."
"I do, too, wish for our fight to be remembered..."
You both take a stance against each other, both drawn and ready. There is no gimmicks, no one to help you or him. It's just you against your brass in sections. No one shots, nothing but a fair fight against your final comrade. Who is now your only obstacle against the Tuba King's Final Composition.
"It was nice knowing you... Tuba Knight..."
The wind stops, and the sun is now shining through the windows and cracks of the ongoing destruction of the warring orchestral bands of every section of the lands. The fight is silent...
"... and to you as well... My fellow Brass In Arms... May our death be swift and honorable...!"
You charge head on, and start the fight.

The fight was long, and as over heard from my chat, no fight is the same. All is random and stats are always the same as you. The only difference is that he has Incredible Defense and HP. Making him a battle worth fighting for in this true ending playthrough. Every turn felt like a memory being remembered... each and every single hit, only made me want to go on. He made every hit count on your health. Same HP recoveries, same items.
He played the same as you... You shaped him as he shaped with you. This fight truly showed how far you knew this game down to a single bar.
I cried silently in this fight. I didn't want to fight and kill my only friend in this playthrough.
But you must, in order to save the Sections of this Orchestral Lands.
And once it was over... I couldn't handle it. I lost my sense of emotions, I had to cry, and I had to smile... It was over.
He collapsed to his knees after the final blow. He knew his time was coming. His final notes are coming. You readied your sword to deliver the final moment...
But you didn't... you gave him your final Brass Polish. You made him shine more then ever, it was like looking in a mirror in his Armor.
He stands in disbelief... and shouts.
"Why didn't you finish this fight?! I was ready to finally see my brothers again... Do you only wish me to suffer after this is over?"
You only nod your head to him, shaking to show him your true mercy.
He laughs and wholeheartedly raises his arms in the air, as he takes his gear and you stand next each other once more... but this time... You're both ready...
"... I must thank you..."
"For what...?"
He turns to you and salutes you, and kneels down to you with his brass sections lost crest in his arms.
"Showing me what it's like to live in the melody of others... and being one with the notes of my life's song..."
He stands up and follows suit with you.
You finally walk to the final orchestral chamber of sections.
The true final battle begins...

When you are going to defeat the corrupted tuba king II, steps can be heared. When turning around, you discover the silhouette of that warrior, the one you thought was dead.

The warrior returns from the grave to help you free his king.
But corrupted tuba king is only one of the endings.
During this battle, you realize that hes an enemy who wont stop fighting so quick. He has nothing to loose anymore, except his Life.

That feeling when this is genuinely a good song
Okay, since a lot of people asked for it, I'll explain how to beat Tuba Knight as a Bass Drum player. This is NOT an easy fight, but it is a very rewarding one if you do it correctly and it will really boost you up for the rest of the game. Let's get this started.
As some of you may know, Tuba Knight will drop different items depending on how you kill him, and the hardest to get and more powerful is the Bass Drum Mallet, which will make a Bass Drum character incredibly tanky and bursty, with excellent bonuses as support. To do this, you have to kill him using his own magic attack, which is Wholesome Note, that he rarely uses when he's low health.
First, go with Bongos. Yes, Clarinet, Oboe or Lyre are good healers, but Bongos' Twin Salsa ability's shield will nullify the burst damage from Tuba Knight's Low Flare while you wait for his Wholesome Note to trigger, which is EXTREMELY important. Low Flare can easily wipe you if you don't time it correctly, so be careful. Also, the sustain bonus from the Percussion Clans combo will help a lot in this fight.
Secondly, and most importantly, you will need a reflector item or setup, I believe the easiest is to get a Basic Reflective Sheet from any store. Get a few just in case. The objective is to get Tuba Knight to as low HP as possible, then use the item to reflect Wholesome Note as soon as he casts it, and voila, you have a Bass Drum Mallet and one of the most powerful characters in the game now.
As a piece of advice, practice your parrying. Bass Drum doesn't have much on the dodging field before getting the mallet, and neither in the damage deppartment. This is a slow and grindy fight. But it is a fun and very rewarding one. Good luck!
This version is played during his 2 most important and impactful cutscenes in the game, and without giving spoilers, I think everyone who played this game will agree the second time was somehow even more impactful than the first time. All the emotions that build up and get released in this battle really make for a wonderful climax to this character’s arc.
this is the only boss battle where I didn't feel I was fighting a boss. After I got all the items, weapons and passives of the previous bosses I had so many buffs and abilities man. Like, I didn't know what to do with them. And this guy comes with nothing special or fancy, no pillar jumping, chase scenes, ranged attacks or invincibility frames. He actually felt like the underdog in this fight and I felt so strong. Wait... Was I his boss battle all along and he is the one meant to defeat me?

I think it's awesome how a meme can turn into a compelling story.
All the kingdom respect Tuba Knight. Despite everything. He only ever held the line. Never advancing on his own. His oath was the defend the brass nation. So when they won territory he moved forward. No kingdom could get past him. He would always spare anyone who made it to him and arrange for them to get back home safely. King Tuba ii used his honour as a way to break the morale of the other nations. That was until the Maestro aka the battle conductor appeared. That's why as the final battle happens the strings are paying tribute.

In a valiant final attempt to stop you, the player, from ending the entire Brass race, Tuba Knight stands in your way, with bloodlust in his eyes, you don't win this battle, you've already slayed his brothers, his friends, his family, he ISN'T going to lose to some dirty race killer. Once you land a hit on him, he starts to die, but suddenly, there's even more of a glow in his eyes, and he comes back, ready to rip you to shreds. *"In this world, it's protect or be protected, so what are you trying to protect?"* he says.
The Last Ride of the Tuba Knights was honestly the best cutscene in the entire game.
Don't @ me, I don't care how good and emotional the meeting between the Tuba Wizard and the Cello Champion was, It doesn't have the emotional impact of being the last dying breath of an ancient tradition brought to naught by the corrupting powers of the Tuba King.
These epic Tuba themes and mixes just popped outta nowhere in my recommendation feed. And I couldn't help but love every single one of these despite not knowing much about the complexity of musical instruments. For me, it's still quite unbelievable that it all started as something for shit and giggles, now evolved into stories and video game ideas that are beautifully written and are very well-thought. Even a specialized community was born.
Indeed, creativity knows no bounds.
