I think there was an “infinite loop” involving Light & Darkness Dragon, Level Eater & Reverse Trap
Have L&D Dragon on field, have Level Eater in GY. Then activate Reverse Trap
Reverse Trap swaps the effects of ATK & DEF boosts & losses. Activate Level Eater, target L&D Dragon, L&D Dragon’s effect activates, gains 500 ATK & DEF, negates Level Eater. Level Eater isn’t once per turn (a big reason why it’s banned) so repeat until opponent quits or you get bored & attack for game

In the real, not. I think is like apollousa, if it doesn't loses ATK, the effect is not negated, but it still gain the ATK boost by the Reverse Trap. I remember that's what happen if you try to negate a effect with Apollousa after activating Reverse Trap btw, so maybe is the same with L&D Dragon.
@@larryla6121 actually, it’s not a passive loop. It’s an active one. Meaning the player has to activate one of the steps themselves since it’s not mandatory.

Let's explain using term that is not in yugioh
Basically, when a monster is negated, it loses its self buff/debuff.
In this video, LaDD has its own debuff (i.e. losing ATK/DEF), and thus is lost when negated by chalice. Similarly, Accesscode Talker also loses ATK when negated because the ATK boost is self buff.
Self means, it cannot be granted to other cards, only itself.
Uni-zombie targeting itself to gain Level is not self buff, thus will not lose the gained Level when negated later.
However, if such buff/debuff is granted by other card, or can be granted to other card, it will not be lost when negated, say, Eldlich buff (that grants 1k ATK and indestructible).
Actually, the Eldlich buff can't be negated by these kinds of cards because it activated from the GY whereas these cards negate on field effects.
I didn't know chalice recovered the attack on effect negation :o

Basically, since LADD reduces it's attack for it's own effect that means if the effect is negated for a turn by a forbidden item card then it gains the original value back.

L&D's effect negation didn't trigger because it was at the start of the Damage Step, wasn't it?
Because it has to lose 500 ATK and 500 DEF, and its DEF was at 400, hence the cost could not be paid and the effect could not be activated.

Wait, is chalice negate until end of turn or permanent??
Until end of turn. It's just that if a monster messes with it's own ATK/DEF (and ONLY itself, if the ATK/DEF altering can affect a different monster this doesn't apply) it will return to it's original ATK/DEF when its effect is negated. This also works on Accesscode Talker (drops back to 2300 permanently) and Apollousa (drops to 0 since its ATK is determined by its effect, but once the effect negation wears off it'll return to the value it had when initally Link Summoned).

Coz its effect mandatori. (Must active) once per chain
Because LnD had only 400 def. So it couldn't lower it's def by 500 to activate it's effect
Because Light and Darkness Dragon must decrease both it's ATK and DEF by EXACTLY 500 to negate. It was at 400 Def, so it couldn't meet the requirements to negate again.

What happened?
Full negate only from 1 card
Forbidden Chalice negated Light & Darkness Dragon effect which caused his ATK to go back to 2800 and because Chalice effect lasts until the end of the turn, Light & Darkness Dragon ATK was reset to its original value.

It negate effect mean it also negate effect reducing atk down so it go back to 2k8 plus 400 from chalice
After end turn it will return to it original attack at 2k8
