It always made me sad their story cause it looks like your average tzeentchian shitshow that just broke their chapter
I don’t know why this specific chapter latched onto me so much, it’s so tragic and gives me mixed feelings.
I love that they used to be artisan warriors, but I kinda hate that they’re so distant from the other Blood Angels and even Sanguinius himself.
I also read that apparently the Resplendent briefly transitioned from orange armor to iridescent blue before finally becoming the Penitent. That wholly convinces me that, whether involving the Martyr or not, the Resplendent had their foot in Chaos, even Tzeentch territory in their history.
Nevertheless, despite this being 40k, I think the open-ended lore gives more opportunity. I’m pulling for the Resplendant’s rebirth, but you could draw up a schism that leads to civil war, or even a final purging and permanent establishment of the will of the Martyr.

Fun Fact*: Peter Fehervari, the author of all Resplendent/Penitent stories, isn’t too fond of the Penitent helping out during the Devastation of Baal.
In his mind, were the Penitent to hear that the Blood Angels were about to be destroyed, their reaction would be a curt “GOOD.” and subsequent unchanged continuation of their day.
*That I don’t have a source for but I heard on the 40K Lore subreddit and thought was too cool not to mention.

It was a fun little lore video, I am pretty sure I know have heard this lore before but what was fun was hearing what you thought of it.
Also I am not sure on the luck thing either side, like I would prefer to constantly stub my toe than lose an arm and I guess that is the kind of difference between then and the lamenters, constant problems vs one major issue - Cal
