6 year old me turning on Cartoon Network past 10pm:
The following programs are intended for mature audiences over the age of 18
When you lose your limbs and land into the sea due to your own stupidity mermaids plant you in a stripper tree.
You would not believe your eyes
100. Like
Ergo Proxy
I like the bridge of this song
The bridge is done on a bridge
I never noticed this, but your proclamation of this idea makes me wonder if there's other symbols like this in the video.
Usheer yoooo! I never noticed that
@@robertlawless5626 likely not. The animator was given the song without lyrics, so he didnt even know what the song was about when he made the video.
Technically, you wouldn't need the lyrics to know what section of the song the bridge is...
This was one of the coolest animated videos for a song on MTV long ago. I used to hope this would come on at nights.
Stop following me
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU EVEN HERE HOWWWWW WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
I simply recorded the video 😂😂😂
(I'm a computer *nerd* - well, I was back then...)
Why are you still following me, we can like the same music, but you are everywhere I go
This has to be one of the most distracting music videos of all time
ᄐᄒᄀ that works too
Both equally work
*best, I don't think Radiohead would be one of my favorite bands if not for the video and this song, I don't know why it's so great, I've seen better animation, but for some reason it just fits so well and makes me think about the song differently, it's great.
Try destination calabria.
Look at Schihsm by Tool. I say it works for both disturbing and distracting.
The part when starts at 3:33
HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THAT PART?

I had no business watching this video at 7 years old but here we are
When I first heard this song I thought it was noizy shit with guitars out of tune.... but that's the genius of it.This song grows and grows and grows every time I hear it. It's an epic masterpiece of the highest class.
Basically radiohead in a nutshell. That's the magic of the band.
It's not out of tune
Ye I didnt like it when I heard it the first time for some reason
As a classical pianist I only ever heard the beautifully crunchy melodies. A pop song has never moved me like this one. I was born in 1990. I remember this as an 8 year old and it scared me, excited me, and all around made me feel like life was special. I’ll never forget it.
That's true.. when i first heard this song i think what's this song, but when i listened again i repeat more and more..
This is my favorite Radiohead song out of all of them, the sheer talent and emotion it has put into it is incredible! Amazing work guys!

That's in my opinion a modern time masterpiece. That should be in the music history text books.
watching this video makes me feel like I'm on an acid trip
great song though, radiohead music in general holds a special place in my heart as both me and my late dad listened to their songs together. this was one of dad's favourites along with karma police and creep.
I still remember the first time I heard this song. mind was blown. I thought it was from another dimension entirely. It's definitely the Bohemian Rhapsody/Stairway to Heaven of the 90's. It's hard to imagine they created this song out of nothing but air.
The Beatles “Happiness is a Warm Gun” meets the Pretty Things “In the Square”.
I beg you people to listen to more prog rock; this kind of composition is NOT unique to this song and Bohemian Rhapsody
honestly, ive been listening to this for years and i still get that rhapsody/ opera feel to it.
One of the best songs ever put to tape. An absolute masterpiece
This particular song for me is almost same as Queen’s bohemian rhapsody 😍😍 masterpiece!!!!!!
this video is even weirder than some of pink Floyd's
***** Well said. I've always felt like Trent Reznor and Thom Yorke touch on a lot of the same themes. Each's music evokes a kind of dispassionate melancholy, and seems to expound on the vacuousness and (ironically) isolation of the modern condition.
DEEPWINTER mmmm i hear you but ive alway felt a very peculiar difference between the two... Trent embodies a very personal kind of depression whereas radiohead seems to me goes full cosmic horror type of void.

Radiohead is one of the greatest bands of all time.
This being ergo proxy’s ending is so sick, didn’t realise it was Radiohead until now
I will always love the build of the last part. Every time the loop begins again there is a new part added first with just vocal melody, then rain down, then another vocal melody but higher, then the final, that's it sir your leaving, the crackle of pig skins. Its genius and perfection. 4 different layers of awesome, laid in subtly do you can hear them in all their glory. Not everyone notices it, but the people that do you know exactly what I'm talking about.
I'm very surprised noone is commenting about this part, it is so great, it feels like Bach wrote it, not Radiohead, cause it sounds like classic music so much.

When i was a kid, i was always told by older kids and idiot adults the world would end in year 2000. So when i first heard this song, and specifically this part of the song, around 1999-2000, the begining of a new millenium, i could just think of the world ending in a glorious but very soothing cataclysm, fire falling from the sky sending us forever into the night. Still get that soothing feeling when i hear this part.
@@RM-xk6iu how bittersweet would it have been. It would definitely be a note to go out on. Especially with the end of it being, "God loves his children, God loves his children yeah!" I am glad the world didn't end.

Radiohead writes a song so captivating it makes seven minutes feel like no time at all. Today's artists write songs so boring they make three minutes feel like an eternity.
Only other musician I know that can do that is Aviators. It's really impressive. It's clear they put their heart and soul into their work, unlike most music today.

Irony.
Power of choice. Just because you can do something or the majority of society would assume you do something because you can you opt not to do it.
well I mean it's nice to have a car to get places on land to replace walking, so might as well use a helicopter to replace flying?
Maybe because the angel is picking up someone who can not fly.

When I was around 7, my mom used to go to the gym twice a week but because no one could take care of me at home, she would take me with her, where I would wait for her to be done in the reception of the gym. I usually did homework or played with my DS, but there was also this one big TV where some music video TV channel was always on. That way, I ended up watching lots of mv's but one stuck with me. I just remember a lady coming out of a tree and flashing to some guys, a fat man getting his limbs thrown into the ocean, and some bridge scene. I was 7, so it pretty much traumatized me because it was so dammed vivid. I tried to find that mv for 12 years, but nothing. That summer literallly began with Mike Tyson biting Holyfield's ear off, ends with Princess Diana dead, and in the middle: I meet a beautiful college girl who I got into my 1st relationship with and lost my virginity to while this song by Radiohead is playing. Little do I know is that she is at the age where schizophrenia begins developing, which leads into some VERY chaotic moments later on

UA-cam: We don‘t accept sexual content in videos
The world: But it‘s Radiohead
UA-cam: Ok we‘ll let you do that
Works for me :)
You.are.everywhere. why?
What sexual content? I just saw some big titties. Nothing inherently "sexual" about that. To say otherwise would be "objectify."
(I like big titties as much as the next - jussayin)

He’s depressed man. All Radiohead songs are about how fricking depressing the world is. 😭

OK Computer will probably be considered one of the best classical music albums in 24th century
of course
It is.
Lol
nice
its operatic or something. the way this song moves through different sections.
The animator who made the video is a semi famous swedish animator who does actual children’s shows.
All of us here are sharing the same ’suddenly seeing this as a 7 year old and thinking it was a cartoon’ story.
But for us swedes it becomes extra jarring as it looks IDENTICAL to other shows that aired at the time.
Also i think the artist snuck in all those swedish flags on purpose.
Benny Brun va fan bäst
I have a vague memory of "The Three Friends and Jerry"
The two main characters you see are from a show by the same animator called "Robin," which ran 2 seasons.
it is true that before the Norway boom, the nordic countries were pretty awful to live in?

Short answer, yes.
Being a huge Oasis fan in the mid 90s..i remember Noel Gallagher talking about British bands dominating that era and mentioning that Radiohead could be part of that movement if they fine tuned their stuff...how i laugh now.....Noel ...only in your dreams would you reach the depth these guys reached.
Spot on comment👌
How he dare...?
P R Radiohead were ok but there not exactly she’s electric. Can’t really sing along to Radiohead
Yeah at least Radiohead doesnt steal from other artists
ginko baloba he steals his singing voice from a homeless man in from Oxford ‘pissed in pain pete’
Most of their songs are sad and melancholic, but sometimes I need it.
Love it from Japan.
It's strange how we seek that emotion out, but I like that as well!
Funfact. This song as a ending song of Ergo Proxy
Love from Panama!
Japan society basically fits OK Computer really well.
Check out Anthony and the Johnsons for a real melancholic fest. Amazing stuff.
Their early work was a little too Brit pop for my tastes, but when OK Computer came out in '97, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Pink Floyd, but I think Radiohead has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
I see what you did there
In 2000, Radiohead released this 👉 Kid A, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "The National Anthem", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
Too bad i got the reservation at Dorsier's

Congrats to Radiohead for making it in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019
Seriusly I didn' know that
Ryan Kim I'll keep that in mind
I saw one of your comments on a meme once
I will not respect Rock n Roll Hall of Fame until bands like new order, joy division, the Smiths or the Cure are inducted
Lucky for you The Cure are being inducted this year
Although I am still waiting for The Smith and Joy Division, as well as Iron Maiden, Motörhead, T-Rex, Kate Bush, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest and a dozen more

The fact that this director made this video without knowing any of the lyrics and still manage to make this video give off the same confusing feeling of listening to the songs lyrics is incredible.
Where are you getting this info lol? I’d love to read an article if there is one 😂
The director, Magnus Carlsson, locked himself in his office and listened to the song repeatedly while staring out of his window and looking at a bridge. But yeah, keep lying on the internet, mate.
