Horsepower was way down by the mid 70,s low compression ratios and small cams, not to mention this car weighs over 4000 pounds. Looks nice though
Rating was Net HP starting in 72 not gross HP as years prior. The Olds 455 has plenty of HP and a long piston stroke for massive torque.
* Improvements in the 73-77 A body cars:
- Hydraulic lifters and hardened valve seats along with sealed cooling systems and positive crankcase ventilation increased engine durability.
- M4 Quadrajet carburetor and High Energy Ignition were vast improvements.
- Body and chassis were stronger and suspension geometry and components were optimized for better handling.
- Rear differential was 8.5" and virtually indestructible.
- Front disc brakes were standard.
- 3 point retractible seatbelts were introduced.
- Crash protection was designed into the body and chassis.
- The 1977 Olds Cutlass Grey Ghost is still the fastest NASCAR car ever at Daytona. The 73-77 dominated and required carburetor restrictor plates due to winning too many races.
They have a saying about T tops do you have the ones that leak and you have the ones that are going to leak I owned one of those cars in the T tops leaked like a sieve And forget about trying to find replacement rubber seals it’s not gonna happen but the car itself was really nice it drove so smooth really really nice car
Its actual called a hurst hatch not a t-top
That big boat is going no where, all torque and no power on that one.
Good we don't have to worry about you buying it.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
