Well glad you had no problems, bought mine today, when assembling the handle to the machine, first side was ok, the second just kept revolving. So I undid the first side to check if there was any difference, realised there was a small nut in the black plastic. When doing up the first side the small nut came away onto the spindle which is what had happened to the second side. So going back to the shop tomorrow. Before you ask, this was hand tightened and being a female in my mid sixties with a touch of arthritis, do not have the strength of ten men!
I have just replaced my Rotak 34 G with the new 34 R. My old one is many years old and was the one of the first Rotak on sale. The new model is much more flimsy, there is no cord storage, and the folded handle needs more space than the old version. The grass box seems flimsy but locks into place reasonably well. I gifted the old 34 G to my son but I do wonder who got the best deal?
I bought the same mower yesterday, but it took longer to assemble than 16 minutes. I probably took 30 minutes from opening the box. I didn't think the instructions, being illustrations only, were very clear. Obviously Bosch has found that some customers needed an extra yellow A4 sheet to point out how some of the components fit together. For example, one of the illustrations shows the word CLICK! Pointing at the back wheels. But what the user guide doesn't say is that you need to exert a fair amount of pressure on each rear wheel to get it to click home. I come from an engineering background, but for someone who has no clue about machines, assembling this one could be tricky. Anyway, I'm only giving Bosch 1/10 for the assembly process. Why can't manufacturers in 2024 provide a written guide? Their argument would be that they save money and increase profits by relying on illustrations in place of multilingual written text, but that's no argument as far as I'm concerned. Huge companies like Bosch can easily afford to print a short assembly guide in 20 languages. Or provide official assembly videos on the Bosch website.
Just a tip if you mow your lawn starting at the nearest part of your lawn to where it is plugged in go up and down your lawn working away from your cable you won't be using it like a skipping rope and also you wont mow your cable accidentally just a friendly tip thinking of safety.
Mine today doesn’t have the cross bar section design. Doesn’t need it tbh but I found it strange the ends didn’t have plastic caps. This is the lower section . My top tip *coat everything underneath and the inside of the basket in WD40, makes great easier cleaning each season*
@@Zimpaz This is a horrible design, and whoever designed this and let it get through QA should get fired. Had I known this beforehand, I would not have bought the mower.
Not put mine together yet . I was hoping the video would be in real time. Never having a mower before I was hoping for some online help. Only the video was so quick I didn’t have time to register what was happening
If I didn’t speed it up it would be too long. This was more of a review video that a how to put it together video. You can slow videos down if you click the settings cog
We've just had a replacement as red plastic switch inside split! Can't understand why there are 2 red levers where the handke is screwed to the mower. What is their purpose
Got one yesterday from Amazon and have yet to use it,Grass box did not fit together all that well but machine seems sturdy enough and reasonably easy to assemble.I thought it was German but as usual it was made in China!!!
If you find your lawnmower hard to push try raising the leaver to adjust hight and if that doesn't work then strim your grass down low enough for you to push your mower over
Is there a difference between the 34-13 and the R version? tried to buy the first one but could not find it anywhere so got the 34R instead both look the same but cant find a difference nightmare putting it together but did it !!
Looking great. Every year I also kill any moss and scarify it, then put on some fertiliser. It’s not perfect due to my kids and horrible clay soil, but it’s good enough
I have been disappointed with this Bosch Electric Rotak 34 Mower. The cutting edges are about 2.5 inches wide on each end. My neighbour has FLYMO Electric Mower. While he was changing the Blade (About 33 cms long) two day ago, I noticed Flymo blade has cutting edges all along on both sides so the finished product on his side is better than mine.
A nightmare to assemble. No real instructions. Just inexplicit pictures.big trouble trying to fix the handle at the right angle and the back wheels. Not Happy. If I ever get it assembled and get it working I will review my review! The video was good but the assembly too fast and a waste of time for me.
This fast forward video is worse than useless. This is not an easy assembly and the manufacturers instructional manual could win awards, if the intent was to make it near impossible to follow instructions and assemble the damn thing
I filmed this back in 2017 and have since upgraded to a cordless mower…:I probably have the original footage though so might be able to knock something together with a voice over!

Do you do one on packing it away.

Thanks! I actually do this now having realised it was much easier since making this video

The video is too fast. But at least you have done a video. I have just received my mower, I will try to assemble tomorrow
Very helpful review, thanks
Just got one, how do you fold the handles down for storage
Undo the bolts that connect the 2 sections together

I can't fit the 2 wheels no click they just fall off
How do you fit the back wheels that's wot I need help with
Ive tried endlessly.
How do I get the front wheels off

I need to replace the height adjustment.
Did it break?
We got one of these yesterday did you have to unscrew anything by the grass height adjuster as the spring black lever seems to of unclipped off ours
No it was all pre assembled.
Great video
Does it have a roller?
Yes
can I ajust the handle hight on the Bosch Rotax 370 ER Lawnmower
What number level should it be on to do a short cut
Not sure which way round the scale is but you can clearly see the deck going up or down when you move the lever
really liked your video, that was exactly what i was looking for. not fancy.
All well and good but how do you fold handle for stotage as not clear at all.
+David Braisher sorry I did not cover that...you unscrew either side of the handle and this allows it to fold . They are hand screws
The mower performs well but is hard to push does the blade need adjusting
If you find your lawnmower hard to push try raising the leaver to adjust hight and if that doesn't work then strim your grass down low enough for you to push your mower over

I’m really not sure…perhaps the same but different countries or retailer?
I have the larger 34 model. Biggestb defect is that the grass box is difficult to empty into a bag!
+Richard Thickett yes I would agree with that. I have some big backs that i can pull right over the opening and just shake like mad!
@@Zimpaz Do you have a brown garden bin. Empty straight in the bin.
No I don’t as you have to pay extra for that and I’m a cheap skate!
Here is ur new subscriber... very informative video for me... thanks for uploading... very helpful🙏
Thanks a lot. I’m glad you found it useful
Hows the lawn looking after a long use of this mower?
Looking great. Every year I also kill any moss and scarify it, then put on some fertiliser. It’s not perfect due to my kids and horrible clay soil, but it’s good enough
Lovely and straight to business 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
Get mowing!
Does anybody know how to move the handles down for storage?
Unscrew the hand screws half way up and the whole handle will fold over

It's easier and safer to work away from the extension really, not toward it.
Agreed and I normally do. Sense went out the window because I was recording myself
Your Assembly is too fast, I have sent my lawnmower for repair on it is return i do not know how to fix the handle back
Which handles for there s handles on the grass box which just clip in then the main handle which you have to line up and screw in
This 778😊😊😊😊
Taking me forever to fit the grass box
Hello, I was looking to purchase this lawnmower and just wondering how you are finding it now and would you still recommend it?
Many thanks 🙂
Still going strong and highly recommended yes. The only thing I would change would be a longer cable, but that’s nothing an extension lead won’t fix
Thank you, I do appreciate you getting back to me 👍🏻
It was too fast , kind of defeated the purpose , it was a blur . What’s the point of the video ?
What part was too fast? If I assembled it in real time the video would be far too long!
A nightmare to assemble. No real instructions. Just inexplicit pictures.big trouble trying to fix the handle at the right angle and the back wheels. Not Happy. If I ever get it assembled and get it working I will review my review! The video was good but the assembly too fast and a waste of time for me.
You can slow down videos in the settings if you want to follow along. I had to speed it up or the video would have been too long
I found the handles very difficult to fit and our cats thought the grass box was going to be a cat carrier.
Haha. Might not be so cosy for them once the grass starts flying!

Thanks!
nice video
Would have been nice if he actually demonstrated how to construct the thing but I suppose that would have been too intelligent
This fast forward video is worse than useless. This is not an easy assembly and the manufacturers instructional manual could win awards, if the intent was to make it near impossible to follow instructions and assemble the damn thing
You can change playback speed in the settings to 0.25 if that helps? If I did it normal speed it would be a very very long video
Assembly is the problematic feature with this model. A real time assembly video might get more views.
I filmed this back in 2017 and have since upgraded to a cordless mower…:I probably have the original footage though so might be able to knock something together with a voice over!
I won't give like as long as there is the very annoying adds
Damned back wheels just drop off, no video shows how to do it clearly enough. Pop on??? Pop off more like.
Too fast as I needed with assembling.
You can play the video at half speed in settings.
assemble tooooo fast
