The Stars are the greatest thing to me. I’ve been able to meet multiple generations of this team and every single one loves this community and their fans. We have coached a kid that had a heart transplant. TBT it was very scary but always admired his perseverance. I love this game. Benn and the Stars would be enimies any other night but watching this.... just awesome! Keep it up!
What’s a trip is that when he did the puck drop, the visiting captain, Joe Pavelski, would go on to become a member of his favorite team, The Dallas Stars
I had a lump in my throat when hull scored. Was only 12. My dad was there and came home early. He walked in the door and I was on the couch in the dark. We loved hockey. Was our bond. He goes are you okay. I said yes and did you hear about the goal. He just said yeah I realized it when listening on the way home. He said he couldn't watch another team lift the cup against us so he left immediately after. He passed away in 2010 at 48. I always wish he got to see a cup. But in the end it really is just a game we don't control. For me I see the team as a representation of our area and people. So I'm glad to see stuff like this. It's great what teams do for kids. Being a kid is a special time. You realize it as you age. It's so insanely special and I love when kids are happy and are treated good. It's sad around here right now. I know so many obsessed fans who literally don't even care and lost their joy for hockey. I miss when he had a team and players who wore the sabre jersey with pride.
I kind of know what he went through when I was born my heart was under my armpit and so I had to have surgery to put my heart back into place I can't play any contact sports or it will crush my chest and do alot of damage to me.

Hockey players are definitely the least diva of the team sports players. Them and the Lacrosse guys. Fighters are like this too.
