Gary Brooker had the most amazing voice! Check the original out when he was young. It will blow you away. Gary Brooker passed away in 2022. RIP Gary. Love your reaction!
Amazing how much this version sounds just like when it originally came out 😌
"A Whiter Shade Of Pale" came out in 1967. It was written by Gary Brooker (the one singing it), Keith Reid and Matthew Fisher from the band Procol Harum. Gary Brooker sadly past away in Feb. of 2022.
This song is so beautiful! I am also blown away by Gary Brooker's voice ! He sounds ever bit as good as the original , back in the 60's. Love it and your reaction is great , as usual.
😘😘
Gary Booker was so talented, this song first released by Procum Harem in 1967, Booker was the lead singer . Believe it or not his voice sounds richer now than it did when he was young. RIP Gary
I agree. Most the time when you hear sing songs they did when the were younger you wish the would stop and go home. But not him, I didn't care for the song when he first sung it but I really love it now.
Beautiful,… to Epic,…. To mind blown,… every time!!!!!🔥🔥🔥
It goes back to the 60s. It's an old song. ❤
The original melody is even older - it's based on a Johann Sebastian Bach fugue written in the 1600s
this song was originally done by Procol Harum in 1967, this particular concert was in 2006 and the reference to "and the Miller told his tale, her face, at first just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale" is a reference to The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer written between 1387 and 1400
Imagine an era when barefoot, rag-wearing teenagers smoking weed in the park were able to catch references to 14th Century literature.
I believe that this is the Danish national orchestra playing with Procol Harem. You should listen to the orchestra do " the good bad and ugly" theme. You'll love it!
"Yes" on both... 🙂
Im so glad you listened to this. These old white men can belt it out.
And you're looking beautiful as ever 😍
AW UR WELCOME AND THANK U
OUTSTANDING, enough said!
This is me, and if you watched them as young men, which you can easily find, you know my soul you beautiful woman.
THX BABE
Gary Brooker had such a majestic voice. I wore this album out when I was young. I highly recommend Conquistador from the same concert. RIP.
Great reaction KS! Procol Harum put this out in 1967. That's Gary Brooker singing. Gotta check out some Spencer Davis Group - Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out. You'll be blown away KS!
THX BESTIE

I get goose bumps when the choir comes in on this version. I love when reactors do this one. And of course, you didn't disappoint. This song actually came out in 1967, many many years before this concert,
THX ROD😘😘
Believe this song came out in the late 60's.. it played all through my childhood ❤
BESTIE
I always get teary eyed and chills when I watch this video.
You are such a beautiful soul.
THANK U
I grew up in Southend in Essex where Procul Harum come from. Sometimes they they rehearsed in an old church hall which my friends and I found out about and used to go and watch. Got to know them a little bit. Very down to earth guys. Only recognise Mr Brooker from this line up though.
Beautiful song
YES
the original version didn't have the orchestra and choir, and I wasn't crazy about it. but this version & performance is a masterpiece.
RIP Gary

Watch the 1960’s colour video of the original group singing this. The song had quite an impact at the time.
Miss K Shavon I'm new to your channel and I love your style and your reaction 😊
This song is from 1967
He's not from the States, he's from the UK!
The melody is BACH Air On A G-String & Sleepers Wake
This is music....today most is sh***.... K,you also have to react to Moody Blues "Nights in white Satin" (official live vid at Royal Albert hall in 2000)...thats another genius, timeless ballad from 1967😘
You are not old enough to have heard the original studio release on the radio / disc (vinyl !) .... and while very good in all phases of vocals and instrumentation ..... it was mild, down played in dynamic presence of sound ...... here in LIVE PERFORMANCE, MANY INSTRUMENTS, POWERFUL ORGAN, PIANO & MOST IMPORTANTLY a phenomenal vocal rendition of lead singer with decades of age, experience and that spirited sense of passion PROVES HUGE IN DELIVERING BRILLIANTLY SUNG LYRICS !
I was just remembering dancing a slow dance on this song , many times ☝️ 🥰
The song was a hit in 1967.
Beautiful song, it is a lament, about a young woman overdosing and dying at a wild party. And her face at firstly just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale. 😢
R.I.P. Gary Brooker.
He was so young and virile when he wrote this years ago, and sounded about the same. I think he had cancer a long time.
RIP mr gary brooker😢
Gotta listen to some Gary Allan song I get off on the pain 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥😎🎄
Don't even try to figure what this song is about!! He said he doesn't know himself!
HUH?🤣
Read the Miller’s Tale in Chaucer’ s Canterbury Tales. A very bawdy tale of debaucery.
Four words in 🤣
😂
which video is this ? this might be my favorite rendition of whiter shade of pale.
K, Moody Blues - Knights in White Satin is also a must. Another 60’s rock band that infused orchestral music with rock.
