Why is it better to open/arch in the thoracic spine, versus elsewhere for gymnasts? Does it create a stronger hinge point for them to work with when a skill requires them to arch? Does it reduce risk of injury to the spine and shoulders? I would love to dig deeper into this issue for applications in gymnastics and more generally the physiology of the human body. Love the content!
Damn this is what I needed. When doing muscle ups in crossfit, I feel like I don’t have good core activation between my hollow and open position so when I kip, I can’t pop my hip to the bar because my ribs are too flared out with no core stability in my arch position to begin with. Mind blown.
how can you fix a situations like in the video? I think i have a similar case, and have had a recurring shoulder instability/impingement for a few years now. is it too late to gain that healthy shoulder back?
Please demonstrate more stretches and/or exercises for this particular issue. Thank you.
Yess I need this too
There's a lot to be said for standing up straight with your shoulders back.

Awesome. I have that problem, I think due to years of carrying heavy school bag with bad posture! Thank you for this video.
Informative video. What other stretches for the thurasic spine do you suggest?
