- omg this was EASILY the most stressful / challenging week of my life - but so so so rewarding!!! my interview pushed me wayyyy outside my comfort zone but it was such a great experience.
also LA is WAY different than I expected lol........

I go to USC after living in a small country town in NorCal, and I can honestly say it’s the best place. Sports culture and education are just hints of what’s to offer. Even though it’s not in the best area, as everyone is pointing out, not a lot of people understand the measures they take to make the campus as safe as possible (you literally cannot get on campus past 9 pm if you don’t go there and aren’t registered as a guest), also, lots of schools are diamonds in the rough (Any school I’m Boston, Atlanta, etc.). There are so many perks that come with going to USC, so I hope you get in. Also, LA is for sure Not as “hype” as people make it to be, BUT it’s very lucrative in the sense that it literally has an endless amount of culture, places to eat, and never is short of places to see, even for a native. Also, “food culture” is half of what makes LA unique like New York and New Orleans. There’s just options for everyone! Anyway, Best of luck and FIGHT ON ✌🏾❤️💛

I also had an interview at USC dental school and got accepted. With all respect, I think USC is so overrated and expensive for no reason. There is nothing special about this school, and their program is very boring imo. I ended up going to another dental school and I am very happy with my decision. And, I am saving over 100k :-)
Don’t go to USC if you have other options!

I’ve met a lot of dentists who graduated from USC’s dental program and they all loved the program there. I’m glad you chose the dental school that’s right for you tho! That is what’s most important :)

This reminded me of my vet school interview and how nervous I was. The night before I contemplated calling admissions and saying I got into a car wreck so I wouldn’t be able to make it 😂😂 I thought I offended one of my interviewers and wrecked my interview in doing so but I got in! I hope you get admitted 😊

I went to the cinema school at USC and the campus is definitely bomb (and even better now, 5 years later) but yes the neighborhood around it can be sometimes dangerous, full disclosure. Honestly as a grad student I wouldn't personally choose to live that close to campus so that never really mattered to me. I commuted from the westside even as an undergrad and I never had the desire to be close. Traffic is bad in LA but if you stack your classes right, it's totally fine. If you end up going to Ostrow and need advice on where to look at apartments in terms of proximity/price/traffic/safety/coolness etc, shoot me a message on insta and I'd be happy to help-- @k.elseyk
(Also I promise LA really is awesome in a ton of ways, you just need to know what areas to hit. There's a lot of over-hyped spots but so many gems. Good luck on the rest of your dental school journey!)

When i was in LA in January we rented a compact car and we ended up with a Chevy Silverado so I don’t think rental car companies understand the meaning of compact 😂

LOL I went to USC! But transferred out - campus is nice but lunch will cost you around 30 bucks ahahahahaha
Took me years to get in dental school in the Netherlands (It was like a lottery), even went abroad to study overthere (Riga) but i finished dental school in the netherlands in 2017 and still very happy with it! Wish you all the best!
