- “China needs hypersonic missiles to get around the missile defence systems that America will have in place in the event of war over Taiwan.”
China is developing space satellite targeting for high end missiles in their "race for military dominance", explains Richard Spencer.

China has rights to defend itself
I was involved in a business discussion recently when a fellow executive asked me why I refused considering China as a supplier for an upcoming project. My answer was “because China is likely to start a war with the US”. He thought that was the most preposterous thing ever, I replied “I hope you’re right”.
China has very little strategic reason to start a war with the US. Any war between the two countries would likely be initiated by the US intervening in a dispute between China and another country in the region.
America has to worry about its economics more than china missiles.
If it wasn’t for China, the U.S. economy would have 20% or higher inflation every year. We have no business in Asia. Combined Asian economies are as big as U.S. economy, they can handle their own problems with China IF they choose to.

China is not a complicated country toward the West. But the West took advantage of her over 150 years and China remembers.
Look at all the Trophies that the British took and are showing at the British Museum in London today plus others such as France etc.
I have an idea ? Stop encircling countries, I think that could work, just think how rich Libya and its people, and surrounding countries would have been without US regime change , are we the good guys ? That is the question we should ask
We have been very naive with China, we let thousands of Chinese students study at our best universities, we brought high technology to China, they copied first, and now they have learned and surpassed us. I have a lot of respect for them, but unless we become independent, produce in the west, all our primary needs will be held hostage one day.
Copy , yes. Surpass, not really.
This is the reality. We have during hundreds of years develop everything. They just take it. From Sweden.
You’re being too kind. Much of the copying has been through IP theft. Communist countries don’t innovate due to lack on incentive. Why is that bad? IP theft is dangerous for the economy, in the West we spend trillions on education, that goes back into the economy if a company has succeeded with their new developed and locally produced tech for example. If this is now stolen and made cheaper in China, then distributed back to the west all the investment was lost.
Don’t forget the hard time western companies have setting foot in the Chinese market due to government protectionism, etc the western market is free to enter for the Chinese. Not a level playing field.
Just to illustrate the scale of theft… Deputy director of the FBI, Paul Abbate, alleged in 2022 that China runs "a massive, sophisticated cyber theft program", and that it "conducts more cyber intrusions than all other nations in the world combined."
The FBI had more than 1,000 cases of intellectual property theft involving individuals associated with the People's Republic of China open in 2020. According to Christopher Wray, the FBI opens a new Chinese counterintelligence investigation every 12 hours. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 80 percent of its economic espionage cases involve the People's Republic of China. It’s rampant.

Hypersonic = 3000 mph
Laser = 6.706e+8 mph

Enter a rain cloud.
Simply close the distance faster than the laser can inflict damage. Which is the case for just about everything but drones.
The lasers range is very limited so…
It would be interesting to see what China's manufacturing capacity maxed out would be like. Can it make hypersonics fast and or even make conventional missiles on such a large scale missile defence systems are overwhelmed. What happens if the missile defence unit runs out of anti-missile missiles and is hit repeatedly by conventional missiles, can't the missile defence be made highly mobile or how about enough armour?
As you have noticed. No country. Has a leader that does not. Backstab
Yeah, it's time we start to shift our military focus to space assets. The Navy, while still important, has to be lessened in proportion to the space force, which is the future. Ideally, eventually aircraft will be deployed from space stations, but in the meantime, we should repeal the law that makes us carry 11 carriers, and shift to another group-dominant strategy.
In essence, we have to re-envision what war is going to be like in the next 50 years, and meet that standard.
Pro china indeed, speak no evil, hear no evil.No weapons shall prosper but only the one who is the greatest inventor and creator of the world and souls.
I am sure a Journalist knows how to evaluate the military competence of a country which is still largely 3rd world.
Mathematically impossible
A threat? Ffs...
The USA needs to send a real strong message and if that don’t work, it’ll be a surprise
Hypersonic weapons don't seem to really work as advertised. Partly because they're not really or always that hypersonic. They also can't carry that much payload. And when they get hypersonic, they are not very accurate, very likely can only hit static targets.
Finally the Ukrainians have been able to shoot down a few Kinzhal and Tsirkon missiles with (not the latest) Patriot systems, something that is likely being studied.
They don’t really need to carry payload when they are traveling at the speed that they travel. The kinetic energy alone is enough to do serious damage if it can connect
To add more, even if the U.S. can develop a way to shoot the hypersonic missile down (or the hypersonic missiles just don’t improve their accuracy) they have a bunch of them and simply launching more makes it very hard to defend against increasing the chances of a hit.
We don’t have no more money for space anyways

@@WellSalt-Studio In 2022, China tested a hypersonic missile flying over the South Pole launching a hypersonic warhead from space to hit a ground target in globi desert in China. There is no defense against that.

@@zacksmith5644I thought the U.S. got their lasers from companies like Raytheon which is based in the U.S.
@@tuffnutlevern9363they are making the lasers for drones, ballistic missiles and aircraft. The problem is range. A laser shoots in a straight line. Not great for targets beyond the horizon due to the curvature of the earth. And weather can be limiting too. But they are rapidly advancing the technology. And airplane mounted lasers help with the curvature situation. Space borne lasers would be optimal. 😎
@@Wargasm54ohhh make sense. The range being a problem I can see because the further away the targets the less concentrated the laser becomes and the more heat that it losses between the air and other materials

Love to agree with you but you have to leave the well first and see the world.
Do you know about copy? Let's put it this way did US and Japanese not copying European technologies during their development cycle? Did Henry Ford invent cars or did he just copy the Europeans? We can also look at Japanese automotive industry, did Honda started off building the car by himself or did he started as a mechanic simply servicing the cars? The idea of copy is simply a process of acquiring understand and knowledge. TSMC was sat up by Taiwans' government in 1987 and it was not a pioneer of chip fabrication until two decades later. Talking about their tofu dreg constructions, China has built a 40000 national high speed railway system in the last 20 years and how many of them have actually falling into this tofu dreg constructions?
@@jliang70 In your paranoia, You completely miss my point, which was, as the Chinese had European and US commercial jet airliner technology to copy, it has taken them this long to make their first international flight, but yet claim to have similar or more advanced technology, ie fifth generation aircraft. Excellent analysis. And obviously lots to think about. One concern i have, and i have not seen it mentioned, is that we now have a "dreadnought" moment i.e. all our (the west's) military superiority is in the process of being made redundant by hypersonic weapons and drones (both air and sea).
