  • “China needs hypersonic missiles to get around the missile defence systems that America will have in place in the event of war over Taiwan.”
China is developing space satellite targeting for high end missiles in their "race for military dominance", explains Richard Spencer.

Taiwan hosts the Central Government of China. The U.S.A. generally doesn't support coup d' etát seizure of power from a *democratically or de facto representatively* elected government by a political-splinter group. We respect the peoples but not necessarily any political splinter group. The CCP needs to petition the Central Government of China in Chinese Taipei for its being legitimized as a political party of China.

You’re being too kind. Much of the copying has been through IP theft. Communist countries don’t innovate due to lack on incentive. Why is that bad? IP theft is dangerous for the economy, in the West we spend trillions on education, that goes back into the economy if a company has succeeded with their new developed and locally produced tech for example. If this is now stolen and made cheaper in China, then distributed back to the west all the investment was lost.
Don’t forget the hard time western companies have setting foot in the Chinese market due to government protectionism, etc the western market is free to enter for the Chinese. Not a level playing field.
Just to illustrate the scale of theft… Deputy director of the FBI, Paul Abbate, alleged in 2022 that China runs "a massive, sophisticated cyber theft program", and that it "conducts more cyber intrusions than all other nations in the world combined."
The FBI had more than 1,000 cases of intellectual property theft involving individuals associated with the People's Republic of China open in 2020. According to Christopher Wray, the FBI opens a new Chinese counterintelligence investigation every 12 hours. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 80 percent of its economic espionage cases involve the People's Republic of China. It’s rampant.

Yeah, it's time we start to shift our military focus to space assets. The Navy, while still important, has to be lessened in proportion to the space force, which is the future. Ideally, eventually aircraft will be deployed from space stations, but in the meantime, we should repeal the law that makes us carry 11 carriers, and shift to another group-dominant strategy.
In essence, we have to re-envision what war is going to be like in the next 50 years, and meet that standard.

Hypersonic weapons don't seem to really work as advertised. Partly because they're not really or always that hypersonic. They also can't carry that much payload. And when they get hypersonic, they are not very accurate, very likely can only hit static targets.
Finally the Ukrainians have been able to shoot down a few Kinzhal and Tsirkon missiles with (not the latest) Patriot systems, something that is likely being studied.

We can also look at Japanese automotive industry, did Honda started off building the car by himself or did he started as a mechanic simply servicing the cars? The idea of copy is simply a process of acquiring understand and knowledge. TSMC was sat up by Taiwans' government in 1987 and it was not a pioneer of chip fabrication until two decades later. Talking about their tofu dreg constructions, China has built a 40000 national high speed railway system in the last 20 years and how many of them have actually falling into this tofu dreg constructions?
