His guitar playing was only surpassed by his 'awesomeness' as a person. To see him play ‘slaughter on 10th avenue’ then step back and say “I got nothin’ more to say” is a highlight of my concert going life. He served us juice in the morning at the Welcome to the Club concerts. He came out with a drink tray and served us all juice and thanked us for hanging out and sleeping in line (I lived there for a week!). He was the real thing in so many ways…friendly, talented and humble. Thank you Mick!

I first heard Mick's solo on Moonage Daydream when I was 12 & thought The Shadows were quite good. I felt then that that solo was something truly truly special & I still do. It's not just a solo, it's a one-way ticket to somewhere magical....

Mick, may you rest in peace. You were the greatest and yes, you were the best. I spotted you while watching Bowie videos and I fell in love. God bless your wife and daughter.

What a true talent Mick was. The Spiders were a great band throughout but the play between Bowie's voice and Ronson's guitar twixt '70-'73 may never be bettered. Nothing but admiration for Mick, as a person, as an artist. Never forgotten.

Ronson and Dio were/are two of my fave musicians. It's sad and ironic that they died from the same horrible disease. RiP both.

I was at a bike rally some years back with wurzel (motorhead) and the band got him up to play "ace of spades", they'd spotted him in the fairly small crowd, obviously he didn't have his guitar with him so the singer handed him his and of course he was brilliant (probably played that song ten thousand times) later when the band had finished the singer came over and said " I've never seen anyone play a les paul like that, you're fuckin awesome" wurz just put his pint of spitfire down and said "so you're not a bowie fan then?" When the guy had finished blowing smoke up his arse I asked him what he meant by that and wurz just said "well if he was a bowie fan he would know how good mick ronson was". Just like mick, wurz was not that well known outside the industry but again just like mick a hell of a lot of well known musicians tip their hat to him. RIP Mick Ronson and Michael "wurzel" Burston.

Ronson with Bowie. That's the deal. Everything Bowie did after was somewhat less. Ronson's version of White Light/White Heat is the definitive version. Check it out.

"Everything Bowie did after was somewhat less." No right-thinking person would agree with that, mate! Diamond Dogs, Station to Station, Low, Heroes. I love Mick Ronson, but no, you're wrong.

Aside from 'owt else, I guess THAT event must've been really quite hard for Ian Hunter (no disrespect at all to Mick's missus) : ''... I'll be there for you'' : ''Dun't be daft !'' Sez it all. In heaven, Mick's dreaming that Moonage Daydream ... Oh yeah. Respect + thanks.
